"Prophet - a deadly weapon system made from alien upgrades and knotted nano-musclepacks wrapped around a stolen corpse, dreaming it was once a man named Laurence Barnes." That's the in-game lore of Prophet, and that's amazing. He's basically just a suit that thinks itself human at this point, fighting for every last bit of its humanity.
I think his mind stayed with the suit all along. He just didn't know it yet. Alcatraz's body may not even be there anymore. It's basically hamburger at that point, and once the inhibitors were unlocked, Alcatraz's body was probably eaten by the suit for energy.
@@psgaming101craup4 Prophet's body was restored by the suit too. If you check the 3rd game's ending out. Except for the face he is a mix of Alcatraz and Prophet, but as face and mind it's prophet.

It's in the beginning of the game on the notepad, info on alcatraz.
the best part is that if you understand the story right, Prophet is not human, the nano suit believe itself to be human, believe it is Him, Asking the Question of What does it mean to be human, is it a body, a mind, or the will? that makes us human
Actually its both.....Prophet's body may be no longer be human but his conscious was saved. So in a way HES IS STILL PROPHET. Kinda like everybody sees Darth Vader as mostly a machine but parts of him was still human. The ironic thing about it is...... just like Prophet, Darth Vader's really a black man also(IN REAL LIFE). In 3 you can notice in one of the story details that the suit scans alcatraz consciousness, it comes up 40% intact. Techinically he still there, somewhere...
The whole Alcatraz being replaced by Prophet thing, while incredibly twisted, isn't the subject of Crysis 3. Psycho does mention Alcatraz if Prophet misses a few shots with the predator bow. However, how he knows Alcatraz, and what he knows, isn't known. Rasch says it was Prophet who fought the Ceph in New York, and replaced his tainted flesh, indicating he knew that the real Prophet was dead, and it was someone else's body that the nanosuit turned into Prophet. It is highly likely that everyone knows that Prophet isn't the real one, since CELL had found out about Prophet's death in Crysis 2, and that information got carried on. In the book Crysis: Escalation, which is right after the events of Crysis 2, both Prophet and Alcatraz fight for the control of the body. Alcatraz fought bravely, and without him, New York would've been reduced to ashes. However, he was done with the alien war for good, and just wanted to get away from it all, and wanted his body back. However, Prophet knew that it wasn't over. He knew about the Alpha Ceph. And since the two were in the same body, Alcatraz knew he wasn't messing around, he knew that an even bigger war was coming. He wanted his body back, but he didn't wanna fight the war. Prophet was more than willing to do that. It was very unfortunate that Prophet could only use Alcatraz's body. However, at the end, both came to a mutual understanding. Alcatraz could've had his body back, but he didn't take it from Prophet, and when Prophet brought it up, Alcatraz realized that he has no choice. He resigned to his fate, but he let Prophet have his body out of respect. The two soldiers respected each other and that was, by no means, a forceful, hostile takeover. Anyway, by the time Crysis 3 comes up, Prophet is reduced to nothing but a suit. The foreign corpse rots inside, and the suit just keeps on mutating in a very alien manner. He is not only too busy and pressurized by the potential coming of the apocalypse. He also misses being human. If you check Prophet's in-game data, it says "the suit dreams that it was once a man named Laurence Barnes." Prophet sacrificed a lot throughout his journey. He went on a CIA sanctioned raid on a drug dealing raid, and many innocent civilians died due to his superiors, who he beat up in rage. He spent time in Leavenworth prison for doing the right thing, and then, became the leader of the Raptor team. 4 out of 6 people died under his command, and the 5th one, Psycho, got skinned, which most likely wouldn't have happened if he would've been around and not in stasis. And if that wasn't enough, he even killed himself after his body was infected by the Ceph-engineered Manhattan virus and gave his suit to a near-death Alcatraz. He then, unbeknownst to the real one, came back, just because he had to fight the Alpha Ceph. And as if dedicating his post-death life to obliterating all Ceph forces wasn't enough, he got sucked into space and whatever he was, was extremely fragile. Yet, even in space, he still defeated the incoming Ceph forces, and crashed landed off the coast of Ling Shan Islands from that immense height. He took all of that, and what the hell did he end up with? Still not being human, and living in a tiny shack on Ling Shan Islands, not being recognized for all of his efforts. He lost everything, but all he asked, was to be remembered. As for the whole Alcatraz thing, the suit didn't have anything against him. It's not like it preferred it's original host Prophet or something. While re-engineering the Ceph spore, Alcatraz's personality went corrupt, up to 42%. The suit wouldn't have been able to survive, and definitely not have been able to adapt better, without restoring Prophet's personality. Alcatraz's personality is still in the data, but it has been indefinitely archived because there's no way to repair it. It will forever be there, but Alcatraz is gone. The suit isn't even a suit anymore, it's just a bunch of nanites mixed with human biomass by the end of Crysis 3. It's not a suit and a corpse within, it's just a blob of black nanites and bloody human biomass.
mrknockknock1 prophet wasn't in stastis when psycho go skinned. They were handed their asses by cell in russia. Michael was sent to the nanodome to get skinned while prophet was sent Siberia probably because they had too many subjects in new york.
Actually, Prophet was most likely in Siberia searching for the Alpha Ceph, or any related clues. He wouldn't take orders from CELL, not after what happened before. He didn't know that CELL was taking over the world and whatnot, but he did know that CELL was not some saintly organization. But yeah, maybe I had a few misunderstandings about the timeline. I don't know if Prophet was captured and put in stasis before or after Psycho was skinned. I also think that Psycho had a 2.0 instead of a 1.0, if you take a close look at him and his suit on the screen when the video of him getting skinned is played. I mean it most certainly doesn't look like a 1.0 to me.
Though I HATE what they did to all the Other Nanosuit teams, and that we didn't get an answer on Nomad. The dialogue between Prophet and Psycho was top notch. This shows why.
@@jonharper4478 You came back 8 years later, that's cool. Also, yes, Nomad is alive at the time Crysis 3 takes place, the final piece of information for collecting the dapapads is that he's alive.
This video...show us the think we will never understand. We are humans we must rely only in our selfs, not the god damned tech. Thanks you for showing this.
When I was 5 I played crysis. My dad played it too and teached me how to play slowly and patiently. When I got to this moment I really felt that "I never knew games can get this emotional" it struck me like a truck and it really makes you think how characters are mostly emotionless in newer games but in older games, they gave out actual feeling like they were sentient
Jermoni Joseph In a secret ending he is seen hunting the CELL board of directors with seemingly superhuman abilities and possibly along with an unknown entity. It is possible that he somehow came into contact with Ceph technology that gave him abilities similar to those of the nanosuit or that he is becoming something akin to what Karl Rasch was (a human with Ceph parts [and/or technology] integrated into his organic systems). cool huh ? :D
Fjolltzu Well you did not specify that and you were directly addressing Jermoni Joseph in your comment, which made it seem like you were unaware of it.
Nomad died jumping into a rocket to save Prophet and Psycho on a mission after Crysis 1, its in the comics. It sux, he was hell of a soldier, and honestly, from all 3 crysis games, i think Nomad did the most impossible, and crazy shit, he was the best.
I think a good little detail is when he almost says psycho and stops himself and corrected himself showing that he is human and not just a calculated machine
I hope I get to hear more from James Vincent Meredith in the future. He really started to become his own character from Crysis 2 ending with "they call me Prophet" through the game trailers and his performance in Crysis 3.
A testament to how awesome this game was, is just the fact that after all these years, I still know the dialogues off by heart. I can't say that for some other games.
"Being a good soldier comes down to one thing. To one single question: What are you prepared to sacrifice? When they came to me with the nanosuit, I sacrificed Laurence Barnes, the man I was, to become Prophet. When my own flesh and blood held me back, I sacrificed that too. Replaced it, like a spare part. Victory costs. Every time, you pay a little more. I saw a glimpse of what's coming and there was nothing left of me to stop it. When the greatest combat machine fails... what do we do then? What do I do?!"
my version Crysis 4: Prophet is on the island again, the suit take real body form and now u have the abillity to disguise to everyone (cell, ceph) for short time.Psycho get new nanosuit too (the hunter edition one). You fight with enemies on the island cell take power over the island.Prophet remember that he used a portal before to go back in time, and he want to do so again, maybe there is chance to "bring back to life" Nomad.Together three Prophet,Nomad and Psycho travel to M33 Galaxy to finish all Ceph.(There is a Ceph way more powerfull that Alpha Ceph the "Lord") but the portal is in malfunction and start to send em in different locations in time (Medieval times and watch ancient cultures destroyed by Ceph). And when they fix the portal they return to M33 Galaxy and fight all of Ceph! And of course very emotional moments..but prefer not to tell em :p.Sorry for bad English!Hope u like it!
I know people didn't much care for the characters in the first Crysis, but I liked them enough (hoped Nomad would have been back in the second one before release as I felt he had potential), and I really liked that they were mentioned in this game. And yeah, the message of human over tech is nice.
Killer-Toni That's not entirely clear. That said, (and I hadn't played the game in a long time now), it just depends on how it's supposed to be interpreted in Crysis 3's data pads. Kind of makes me want to play Crysis 3 again. Actually, reading what it said again, it says that it reveals that he's still alive. Never mind. Well that's awesome! It would be cool if they made another Crysis and he was the main guy, but I doubt that's going to happen. I just found the intel, and yeah, it says he's alive.
Could never get into HALO. But this franchise...was awesome! I know some people called this "the poor man's HALO", but there was so much more to this story. At least for me.
Despite being a sentient nanosuit wrapped around a corpse, Prophet is still human. Not because it has the memories of Laurence Barnes, a man long dead, but because of its own indomitable will to keep fighting in times of CRYSIS when all hope is lost.
They made the voice actor of Prophet to do all these actions in game then motion capture them just so the in game first person camera would be realistic enough. It is like they were 10 years ahead of everyone else when making this game.
2:41, at this point, kinda wished the game changed the title from Psycho to Michael to indicate that it is the man (the human) who continues to fight with such will, not a callsign.
The scenes between psycho and Prohet was the best parts of this game with psycho geeling useless because he dosnt have a nanosuit with the music playing in the background was good
@@ALUCARD-us3il Still, he fought. He was a human. He deserves to be remembered. Not in this particular speech, but Psycho raises a good point earlier in the game when he asks Prophet whose face he's wearing these days.
Crysis at it's finest👌 The best scene in the game How the music follows the intensity of the scene, is just perfect I hope that in Crysis 4 they take the time to perfect every bit, so we don't end up with levels like the "Halo Level" from Crysis 3.
Prophets voice is as iconic and epic as the master chiefs or Marcus fenix as soon as he starts talking you just listen.. There really isn't any iconic character voices in games anymore.. If anything game character voices have got worse.. And feels/sounds like a poorly English dubbed foreign netflix film where what there saying doesn't match the action or emotion in a game, and instantly kills the moment..
I read the Comic. Psycho assumed he died and with good reason. Nomad to a rocket to the chest. Yet in Crysis 3 Silverback, CELLs own Nanosuit Operator is searching for Nomad and has 'finally found him'. We go all that time searching for a Corpse? I'm thinking Nomad might have 'somehow' survived and was still active, somehow.
What's wrong with searching for a corpse? Either way, they were most likely after the suit, since Rasch erased all nanosuit and nanotech data before leaving CELL and Hargreave-Rasch Inc. Whether he was found dead or alive was never confirmed though, so his status is always gonna be unknown.
Crysis 3: Prophet telling smth about "we are all human" but the suit forgots that Laurence killed himself in Cryis 2 and here we have walking exoskeleton in which inside is dead body of Alcatraz
Crysis 4 is on the way and the NANOSUIT 3.0 is inevitable. The most powerful suit ever made in sci-fi games by crytek, and this will be the final nanosuit version they will ever made for the next future of this franchise. Either Prophet or a new hero will wear the suit to fight the ceph in their homeworld galaxy.

Nomad is a goner. I think if you read the Crysis wiki it says what happened to him
@@TheN7Spartan Nah, he wasn't. His site was much more complicated.
@@jonharper4478 You came back 8 years later, that's cool.
Also, yes, Nomad is alive at the time Crysis 3 takes place, the final piece of information for collecting the dapapads is that he's alive.
Nomad is still around somewhere but we don’t know where, probably playing the hero
@@Nomadx83 it said that he’s alive and was being hunted down by a user in a nanosuit.
Maybe we’ll see his story in the recently announced Crysis 4
This video...show us the think we will never understand. We are humans we must rely only in our selfs, not the god damned tech. Thanks you for showing this.

Nomad and Jester were legendary heroes
When I was 5 I played crysis. My dad played it too and teached me how to play slowly and patiently. When I got to this moment I really felt that "I never knew games can get this emotional" it struck me like a truck and it really makes you think how characters are mostly emotionless in newer games but in older games, they gave out actual feeling like they were sentient
So hype for crysis 4 , i loved so much crysis 3 back then 😢❤
Prophet is a BEAST!!!
Jermoni Joseph In a secret ending he is seen hunting the CELL board of directors with seemingly superhuman abilities and possibly along with an unknown entity. It is possible that he somehow came into contact with Ceph technology that gave him abilities similar to those of the nanosuit or that he is becoming something akin to what Karl Rasch was (a human with Ceph parts [and/or technology] integrated into his organic systems). cool huh ? :D
Fjolltzu Psycho was hunting down the Cell board of directors, not Prophet.
The343freak i know that -_-
Fjolltzu Well you did not specify that and you were directly addressing Jermoni Joseph in your comment, which made it seem like you were unaware of it.
The343freak i know
I'm proud to grow up with this....
We were all human physco we fought!! That line hits me hard
Poor nomad he's my favorite ;(
OMFG THANKS SOOO MUCH
Nomad died jumping into a rocket to save Prophet and Psycho on a mission after Crysis 1, its in the comics. It sux, he was hell of a soldier, and honestly, from all 3 crysis games, i think Nomad did the most impossible, and crazy shit, he was the best.
I still wonder how Nomad died.
HoodedMushroom comics are not canonic
@Simon peterson
sry to say this bro, but i think it meant they found nomad's body....the suit that is...nomad is dead...
Please, someone, revive this masterpiece of a franchise!
It is not needed. It is a completed masterpiece. Let it rest in peace.

aztec was a bad ass name shame he never got atleast a decent ending to his name .
A testament to how awesome this game was, is just the fact that after all these years, I still know the dialogues off by heart. I can't say that for some other games.
AAAAHHHH!!! The goosebumbs HIT ME

@@cacherow AFTER 6 MINUTES AND A COMMENT OOOOOOOO
"Being a good soldier comes down to one thing. To one single question: What are you prepared to sacrifice? When they came to me with the nanosuit, I sacrificed Laurence Barnes, the man I was, to become Prophet. When my own flesh and blood held me back, I sacrificed that too. Replaced it, like a spare part. Victory costs. Every time, you pay a little more. I saw a glimpse of what's coming and there was nothing left of me to stop it. When the greatest combat machine fails... what do we do then? What do I do?!"
The way he knocked down psycho was amazing
my version Crysis 4: Prophet is on the island again, the suit take real body form and now u have the abillity to disguise to everyone (cell, ceph) for short time.Psycho get new nanosuit too (the hunter edition one). And of course very emotional moments..but prefer not to tell em :p.Sorry for bad English!Hope u like it!
awesome idea but i dont think they will survive the end of this story will be sad
we all need to make sacrifices.
right
Ventsy Georgiev I like the idea of being able to disquise yourself as the enemy,if we ever see that it'll be awesome...and bad@ss!
I like the idea of being able to disquise yourself as the enemy. If we'll ever see that it'll be awesome...and bad@ss!
This is so touching :'(
I know people didn't much care for the characters in the first Crysis, but I liked them enough (hoped Nomad would have been back in the second one before release as I felt he had potential), and I really liked that they were mentioned in this game. And yeah, the message of human over tech is nice.
Nicholas Moore
I hate how they decided to kill off nomad in the comics instead of in-game.
+that1dude0092 Nomad survived,it says that on his wiki page,in the trivia part. pretty interesting ;)
Nicholas Moore Crysis 4 will either be about Prophet and Psycho, just Prophet or it will have a different story...
I doubt there'll be another Crysis.
The New York memories make it Badass Epic AWESOME
It's FANFREAKINGTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This game show the philosophy of our importance into existence and that our conciousness is much more than just matter and neurons
it took me a very long time to realise how emotional this game becomes
Dam has more character then most first person games, and still makes you feel for everything you do.
Crysis still remains the best modern FPS and the story still tops
Hard to believe this game came out in 2013.
We were all human Psycho. And we all fought. Me, you, Nomad, Jester - all of us. We Fought. Not the Goddamned nano suits!
That makes psycho happy and better never give up
Could never get into HALO. But this franchise...was awesome! I know some people called this "the poor man's HALO", but there was so much more to this story. At least for me.
One of the best game series ever, it ended too soon.
Really want a Crysis 4 where we see Prophet, Nomad and Psycho team up again. All they shit they have been through.
GOOSE BUMPS ALL OVER THE PLACE
Love this speech
James Vincent Meredith's voice carries so much weight in this owo
Love Prophet~
Despite being a sentient nanosuit wrapped around a corpse, Prophet is still human. Not because it has the memories of Laurence Barnes, a man long dead, but because of its own indomitable will to keep fighting in times of CRYSIS when all hope is lost.
one from the most powerful speeches ever♥
the most emotional scene in the world
I love this speech so much it makes me cry every time
and the music too, ninja is cutting onion
I really hope they make all three crysis games backwards compatible for Xbox and PS4
Or even remastered for PS4 and Xbox one
if it's xbox then yea its there but i dont know about sony
Their backwards compatible
I can't believe I skipped this cutscene during my playthrough
It sad that only two member of Raptor Team left.
This has some parallels to real life about not giving up
And that how we realise human soul is the most powerful weapon than anything on this planet and what makes him prophet..
"It was never just about the suit"

on german they say
you know thats gonna be a bloodbath right?
and he answers
yeah and iam the one who let the water in.
pretty cool too imo :)
2:43 The Way The Ceph Anti Air missiles Fires When He Says That Is Badass it's like he is Happy to do a No Russian on The Ceph. Psycho is a Savage
Fucking badass
The first person animations for Crysis 3 are so goddamn cool it adds so much to the story they're portraying.
They made the voice actor of Prophet to do all these actions in game then motion capture them just so the in game first person camera would be realistic enough. It is like they were 10 years ahead of everyone else when making this game.
100k views, never expected this.
200k views now
Maximum feelings, tears engaged.
2024 I still like to come back and watch this.
Love the game but prophet's speech is inspirational he is right we are all human learning from our mistakes
2:41, at this point, kinda wished the game changed the title from Psycho to Michael to indicate that it is the man (the human) who continues to fight with such will, not a callsign.
The scenes between psycho and Prohet was the best parts of this game with psycho geeling useless because he dosnt have a nanosuit with the music playing in the background was good
The music made this scene just a thousand times better.
This is one of my favorite video game moments of all time
One last mission
AND HERE WE ARREEEEE CRYSIS 4 IS COMINGGGGGG BABYYY
Alcatraz? You remember him Prophet? the guy whos body you stole? yeah, he fought too
You mean the guy who willingly gave prophet his body after he cleared up what remained of his old life
@@ALUCARD-us3il Still, he fought. He was a human. He deserves to be remembered. Not in this particular speech, but Psycho raises a good point earlier in the game when he asks Prophet whose face he's wearing these days.
I hope they bring Psycho and Prophet back for Crysis 4.
Say whatever you want, this franchise is the best video game franchise ever to be made.
first trilogy I have ever played and this is amazing
Crysis at it's finest👌
The best scene in the game
How the music follows the intensity of the scene, is just perfect
I hope that in Crysis 4 they take the time to perfect every bit, so we don't end up with levels like the "Halo Level" from Crysis 3.
I dont need a suit, Only need "Cojones. My hero Psyco "Michael" Skyes.
He, the prophet, Lawrence Barnes is more of a man than I am.
Name of music: New York memorias.
Prophet and psycho are the best guys in crysis games
Crysis 3: Prophet telling smth about "we are all human" but the suit forgots that Laurence killed himself in Cryis 2 and here we have walking exoskeleton in which inside is dead body of Alcatraz
Prophet and psycho are like brothers
Hope they reach the fucking sky high spectations for Crysis 4! We all need it!
Crysis 4 is on the way and the NANOSUIT 3.0 is inevitable. The most powerful suit ever made in sci-fi games by crytek, and this will be the final nanosuit version they will ever made for the next future of this franchise. Either Prophet or a new hero will wear the suit to fight the ceph in their homeworld galaxy.
lol I love the nanosuit but the doomguy suit and Metroid varia suit make the nano suit look like a kids toy.
But personally prophet has done ebough bring back nomad
@@MILDMONSTER1234 It will most likely NOMAD or a NEW protagonist in Crysis 4. Most of the people think, so I'm leaning towards a new Hero that will be introduce in the series.
@@j.p3701 I’m gonna say it’s nomad simply because they know people like him, we haven’t seen him in ages, and he’s already established. Companies love using throw back characters
Maybe there will be both nomad and a new guy
@@MILDMONSTER1234 YEAH...Crytek will probably still introduce a NEW character if by any chance NOMAD will once again be a protagonist in the series. Remember that this game will be a continuation series and probably after the events of Crysis 3. If so that means NOMAD has been hiding for so many years when they thought that he's dead in the comics.
prophet and alex mercer are very similar at this point
both belived themselves to be human, both found actually arent
both use the human names of their former selves with some slight changes; alexander J. mercer died, now its just Alex mercer, laurence barnes died, now its just prophet
both are stronger, faster and probably all around supirior to humans but both wish they were humans.
both have fought against non-human enemies as well as millitary humans, all for the sake of protecting the 'normal humans'
Yes
Also both were created during the 7the generation of consoles
@@MILDMONSTER1234 Come to think of it, transhumanism was quite prevalent as a theme during that generation, even though realistic shooters were usually more popular.
