    Is he on some kind of treadmill?
    It really looks like it.

      There is a guy named Micheal Gregor that has a channel named Nutritionfacts.org
      He does the same in his live Q&A's where you can see his face
      I believe this has something to do with how we humans are made for standing up and walking, not sitting down. If we have to rest I'd be lying down.
      It is better if you check out for yourself and come to your own conclusions on the matter rather than me forcing my beliefs on you, but if you don't know where to start I would humbly suggest the book "Spark"

      It's really distracting. If you are going to do that, you have to address it. Otherwise, you can stop walking for a 15 minute interview. You'll still get in your steps. Stand, that's fine, but stoo walking.

      @@shmel3689 If I may reccomend something, it is to look into sleeping positions and a better lifestyle, if not then try to find sitting positions that work along with discipline. Some sittings posistions are better for your back than others. Allthough, sitting in general is a shitty thing, unless it is done for resting which only lasts for about a couple of minutes.
      Good Luck

      @Tekagi it would probably make it very un-problematic if the non-whiteboard walls were also not white. Or have them all being whiteboards.

    I have a PhD in Mathematics and struggle to publish more than about 3 papers per year because of the extreme standards for rigor. There are definitely superstars who can produce much more than that, but in general I'm highly skeptical of people who are constantly pumping out new research. The sudden explosion of output in social sciences alone suggests that a major watering down of scientific standards is taking place. What a mess they are creating. The worse part is that they are using that "research" to impact our policies, laws and institutions.

  • @NielMalan
    @NielMalan 4 года назад +3

    Since part of the PhD process is demonstrating mastery of a field, I propose that every PhD should include at least one published replication study.

    Thank you. :- )
    I, like you, had long assumed that open data were the norm for research, and in the fields analyzed, it seems we were about 97% DEAD WRONG.
    Scientists should probably do the things that smart people who are not trained scientists assume are happening; unless there's a very good reason.

    • @microcolonel
      @microcolonel 5 лет назад +1

      For whatever it's worth, I think it would have been prohibitively expensive in the soon-distant past to make the data available with the paper.

    Journal publishers are a racket. Non-affiliated individuals can't afford their rates. Public sci-libr's allow you to copy with smartphone but that publisher paywall stops that education.
