Some of my best friends were former comedians and political commentators like you know someone's right your best friend is you that makes sense but also I worked with Al Franken very successful comedian then became a great political commentator and then became a very actually respected senator to resign or chose to resign because of some charges which about inappropriate touching or mocking a woman on a USO tour but so I think there is grounds for people to do this but Dave Rubin not only is he a bad political commentator he is also a bad comedian...
Michael brooks would have a field day with this one… Rip really missed seeing him dunk on Rubin so much but that was beyond cringe.

Right, I've never been wild about my religous background and i've been decidedly atheist since before I was even Bar Mitzvahed, but as far as Jewish Identity and my attachment to it goes, i take the comedic aspect of the modern Jewish identity as seriously as you can take comedy.... and as loose as a connection I have to my Jewishness, I'm offended that this moron who is all about identity isn't even reflective of the identities he's chosen to embrace. I have to assume he has no friends, because a real friend would not have OKed the release of that embarrasment of a performance.
As someone who didn't even vote until 35 years old in 2020, that registered Independent purely on the principle that neither party owns my vote, the most striking difference between the average Republican voter and the average liberal american (that may or may not vote), is that their is a glaring lack of shame and self awareness on the Republican side of the ledger. There's plenty of liberal morons out there too, but I have more faith that a liberal idiot will eventually come to their senses than any Pro-Republican public figure.

The are mocking trans people and, in Chowder's case at least, he is telling the viewer (without having to tell them), that he and Rave Dubin have a lot more in common than right wing politics, no comedic timing, and no sense of humor.

But that gotcha kind of loses all meaning if you think there is nothing wrong with being non-cis, non-hetero, or otherwise outside of the established categories of gender / sex / sexuality.

I know a guy who thought he was hilarious because his mom laughed at his jokes growing up. He was aggressively humorless and attempted standup once… and the crowd just stared at him. It was sad and physically painful to watch, but he thought he nailed it because his friend fake laughed.

The laughter in the studio had grown from a few chuckles into a roar during the 47 seconds it had taken Dave to compose that thought. Dave blinked and the thin-lipped smile that was pinned to his face dropped. He looked around, confused.
“Laughter,” he thought after another moment. “I did good,” came after a few more beats.
Soon Dave was smiling again. This time it was genuine. He bore his teeth in a wide grin. People were standing around him, doubled over in laughter, clapping him on the back, congratulating him.
“I. Am… Good?”
“Dave you’re great,” said a producer, walking away and pulling off his headset. Dave wasn’t sure if he’d said that last part out loud. It didn’t matter. He was happy. He hadn’t gotten this kind of reaction since he had warmed up the crowd for Matt Walsh’s book reading. But this time was different. No one punctuated their giggles with “You’re so stupid,” like several of the kids had.
He got a phone call later in the day. When he opened the FaceTime request, Glenn Beck’s bright red face filled the screen. “Dave that was brilliant,” Beck intoned while he shook his head. That confused Dave, but he didn’t have time to worry at the moment. Dave heard a muted scream from the other end of the call. Beck’s face twisted, his smile spread from ear to ear, and his eyes darkened. He was looking past the phone’s camera and licking his lips.
“It must be lunch break,” Dave thought to himself.
Beck’s eyes darted back to the screen, and his face softened again. “Dave we want you to bring back that character for a weekly bit.” He gave Dave one more warm smile before looping the belt back around his throat and ending the call.
At home, Dave could feel his ears growing warm. He was blushing. He was getting more praise for his work from his partner. He told the story about how much Glenn had liked his skit. Meeting the new production schedule would be difficult, for he had worked on the first one for weeks before recording. He would have to double, no triple, his busy work schedule to meet the demand. But he was ready. He was happy. This was good. He was good.

No one laughed. Like, we laugh near the end out of discomfort for what his failed attempt at humor, but it's just those people that laugh when they're uncomfortable. And, not like, "I'm uncomfortable because a man in drag makes me feel uncomfortable." He doesn't know what parody is. Parody requires self-reflection as well as an understanding of the context.
