Beautiful Cast again, TA Cast!! Very well done! Thank you for doing that, again! Also very awesome FPS you had throughout the game, a sight to behold and enjoy while watching everything explode.
Good job casting - as a tip, "rainbow" doesn't accurately describe the respective teams. Might I suggest "Cool vs Warm" or "Hot vs Cold" - those are the actual colour spectrums
Thanks again for another entertaining video! 🎉 I love these huge battles ❤ you're right; people with good strategy and learning skills are advantaged. BTW there is no other game with this extreme zoom range 👍
Im new to the game. Its awesome. I noticed you have troubles naming the teams because of their colors and thought it was funny because, one of the first thing I noticed when I played is that the colors are separate between Cold colors and Warm colors. So I usually call them that. Warm, or Hot team, versus Cold, or Chill team. I thought everyone did that because it seemed kind of obvious xD
8:00 If you want a simpler way to put this point you're trying to make. You can simply say that "Beyond all reason focuses a lot more on strategy planning, and adapting than excessive micro managing."
Yeah, using the word "skill" is a bad choice. Since "skill" is usually used for the lowest level of control. Starcraft is a more skill-based game than beyond all reason, which focuses more on the tactics and operational level. While starcraft is more skill and tactics level gameplay.
@@wout4yt Sounds like some one is a starcraft eleitst. Jeez As it turns out I didn't use the term "skill" because skill refers to proficiency in a given task And what do you know. Beyond all reason has slightly different SKILL set than star craft. Where you can have average micro skills but expert planing and resource management and win against some one who's top level starcraft micro but not as good as you at resource management. It's almost as if the games require different SKILLS to play.
"Hot" and "Cold" sides seems the obvious team names to me, but that's maybe because I have watched that Christmas special with Heatmiser and Coldmiser too much.
I was starting to poke around for SupCom videos because I wanted to play an RTS again. I've never heard of this Winter Guy until doing the background research on BAR to decide whether I want to try it badly enough to go to the trouble of installing it. I don't remember what prompted me to look at RTS games again. I think I heard about BAR either from a commentator video channel that covers multiple RTS games, like this one, or an algorithm link to a friend who I recall loved to watch a lot of StarCraft replay commentary videos, which I've never done. So there could be a creepy algorithm link that might also play in to this.
52:35 dunno if the Thor had EMP missiles left, but you gotta use those missiles. Too often ^players don't launch them and their Thors die to clumps of units that could have been paralyzed so easily...
Great game! It would help alot if you do not zoom in and out so often, instead pan or press the minimap. And dont be afraid to stay in the same place on the map a bit longer. Also, it would be fun to hear alot more about the different units as a viewer when they show up, and what they are good versus and bad versus. Just my 5 cents!
How valid is the ancient OTA meta in this game? I remember almost everyone used to start on vehicles but now almost everyone seems to start on bots. Rushing like 10 of the little fast pew-pew tanks on Arm was usually a very strong opener, especially if you could run them into your opponents' vehicle or bot manufacturers and clog them with your wrecks.
Don't really think pink was 'keeping his team afloat' - seemed to me like the original push through yellow's base was possible because all pink's units were down south protecting a choke point that nobody was attacking... and one of his allies already had covered.
Strategy I'm surprised I don't see often is air transport. So often players get caught out in the open. And over run before their team can help react. Dropping an army via air would be a great response. Not only that but dropping an army of heavy slow units behind enemy lines before they can react. Wonder why people don't try that more.
Now... I am one of the people brought to this game by Winter and... Is It possible to have some guides on what actually to do? Becouse a Always lack resources and i really don't know when to tech up
Great cast, maybe let winter prove himself as a player first before you start gushing all over him as the star though. That being said, her did well against Teifion who is often the star of a match.
Its not about introducing the players or not its about introducing them quickly and succinctly. Like a professional. Means you have to looks at the names, practice pronunciation, and be able to say all their names within 2 minutes or so. That would make you a better caster.
I want them to bring an alien race to multiplayer. Like zerg from Starcraft. Imagine swarming with thousands of bio units. It could add a lot to the visual aspect of multiplayer battles.
It's not out of the question. There were some trials of including raptors as a playable faction, will take a lot of work but definitely possible as an update somewhere down the line. We have just developed skinned animation in the engine and will be trying using it on new raptor unit concepts. We need many interesting new units for them (we have a lot but they are not differentiated enough)
Wintergaming so far has great micro of his units, and great shortcuts. He's still lacking on the unit and building knowledge, as well as economy building. Basically he's just falling into the classic BAR traps one by one. Building wind turbines when there's not enough wind, not pushing enough, having advanced fusion too early, too many construction turrets too early, lacking AA, that kind of thing. Also in BAR there are a lot of units that are very niche, and quite useless in most situations. Gauntlets are horrible except in one specific use that never happens, HLTs are quite garbage too... It takes a while to learn... On the opposite side, someone like Tefion has amazing unit knowledge, knows what to use when, but isn't a pro RTS player so his micro skills are quite basic, nothing like the crazy duellers like Raghna, Goopy, Govtouche etc...
Hey i found this game browsing for something to watch it reminds me of Supreme Commander thats the game i play never playing TA but i just downloaded this game and i love that its free and a great community to get into if you havent YOU really should get this game and show some love to the Dev's its great fun as im so sick of buying games from developers and waiting a year after i pay 60 or 70 euro for a game to work . STOP releasing games b4 they are finished you greedy twats and plus dont hire blue haired fake gamers that we all have to suffer hearing about the god damn patriarchy or equal pixelated pay.
I don't get what you mean when you say: "BAR vs Starcraft 2 doesn't need anywhere near as much APM - therefore it takes more skill". I think you mean to say: "Starcraft 2 has a higher APM requirement (therefore skill requirement) but BAR - being slower paced places more emphasis on STRATEGY/THINKING rather than dexterity and skill". I love both games but to say that BAR requires more "skill" than starcraft 2 is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. BAR is like a point-and-click adventure game by comparison.
49:08 that was PERFECT timing on your part lol
"but can they capitalise on it?"

Keep these coming! Two greats together as one
"twilight sounds like a teenage girl's TV show"
"It used to be called the penetrator"
LMFAO
really nice camera work. finally someone zooming in all the time. i dont want to watch icons. i dont care if i miss something. i really appreciate!!!
Heaps of replays lately, keep it going! Great stuff
Tis the year of great RTS!
Just started playing, so far skirmishes, but having a blast. Loved the original TA
I'd love to watch some pro 1v1 matches. I feel like they can teach a lot to newer players about optimal strategies. Keep up the great content!
I was so excited when I found this game. I missed these old-school, super massive scale RTS games
Thanks great cast 🙏
I just stumbled on this game after playing TA like 25 years ago as a kid
Great, entertaining casting, very pleasant voice!
Never seen this game before, but i personally enjoy strategy games and enjoyed your commentary 👍
thanks for the vid. I learn alot about the game from your casting :D
Good stuff. Please make efforts to phase out all old TA names. Kinda confusing, even for returning TA players when you keep swapping. Thx
Thanks again for another entertaining video! 🎉

Wintergaming, do you ever sleep? Asking for a friend. 🙂

Considering how the colors are determined for teams. They use warm vs cool colors usually in X v X

Do you get a notice in game when your mines are being attacked? I am looking at TeiFions base and it looks like he is using them as warning devices?
Starlight penetrator... That said it all mate.

Check Settings > Interface > unit team platters for better display of unit alliance
I really hope they add dual screen mode in. I need a bigger tactical map.
Mate, maroon is darker than red, and beige is a shade of brown. That is salmon or brick.
Is this coming out on steam?
Yes
"red and blue" it's hot and cold, silly! Blues and greens are 'cool' colors and reds and yellows are 'warm'.
At 39:10 the farthest advanced tank just disappears?
