I was so excited seeing the "transport pick up" tactic. I was a little 11 year boy when I played OTA on a LAN Party against older folks. They always won against me. But then I came to my mind to pick up the enemy comander and self destruct. The older folks all complained and thought I were cheating. But all I did was thinking outside the box and winning. ;D Good times!
I'm exclusively an ESC player, but my goodness, this game was awesome! I might have to check out BAR in the future. Thank you for continuing to show us all that the TA community has to offer. TA is alive and well, in part thanks to you!
I've been playing Zero-K for a long time and found this in my video search. What a happy surprise! I had no idea this existed. Love seeing more incarnations of TA
Old TA player from the 486 days. I just found your page last month and love your casts. I’ve watched a couple of different BAR casts and always keep coming back to this one. Keep up the great work!
Old TA player here from way back, damn that was fun to watch. Reminds me of my stupid skirm games on metal maps against multiple AIs, just turtling and building big guns.
There were a couple of moments where I thought there was no way the pros could win and assumed it was game, but then saw there was still a lot of time left in the vid. Goes to show there's a difference between me and those players. Although it is probably fair to say that the joes had a lot of opportunities to simply walk in there and win. Prior to the insane amount of defense that the pro's made in the north, it was WIDE open and the joe's simply didn't go in, probably lacking knowledge of how vulnerable the north actually was. It was an unlocked door for a good 10 minutes and they didn't go in when they had forces to do so.
This is awesome, great cast dude. Is there any way to watch the replay so I can follow how the pros a ridiculous economy? That was such an intense game
Goopy only knows how to spam the raider unit in each lab, even most of the players on east know more about how to play late game than he does. Adolf is good enough to win solo though.
Yeah, it became increasingly obvious as time went on that Green was the far more adaptable player. Took a massive setback at game start and came out as a multitasking power house, and the only reason Blue was left standing at all. Blue took a minor setback at mid-game, and just sort of flopped from that point on. Failed to rebuild effectively, and made very little contribution to the offence.
Thank you for that great cast! I'd liked to bring myself to the Bar party, and I tried in the autumn, though I have lagging issues which don't allow me play. Anyway, good game for both sides. Yet, right team should coordinate their moves better instead I've noticed several times that they were playing "in their own line" instead of help the team. Like yellow in the end. Could have helped to save Middle. Or red could have sent his T2 armies to center and push altogether with allies. I didn't see any scouting from right side either which would have given the information if it's necessary to push through at any way. P. S. Waiting for games!
instead of counting units u can just ctrl+z to select all units of one kind on whole map and u will get sum count on left - but not sure if in spectator mode it will select just one player's units or everyone's
@@NactSuht Fantastic cast, chief! Loved it, subbed as soon as it was done. First vid of yours I've ever seen. Played against the Standard AI today, and the AI made a Juggernaut (aka Krogoth) and it took four....FOUR....passes of over seventy-five T2 bombers to stop that thing. And then there's the Behemoth....even HARDER to kill.
Wouldn't one of the best strategies be for the Joes team to all make transport ships and then organize into two three-man assassination teams to hunt the enemy commanders? If I understand this right, with the Engineers still being able to build stuff, the Commander is basically just a free super-unit that outguns most stuff until you economically overwhelm it.
Tried to download and watch the BAR replay of this one, but says it requires a different engine version which it says will auto-download...which doesn't.
In the skirmish ending screen, there's a player stats/team stats screen with weird terms like MC/m, MP/m, ACS........where can I find definitions of those? Looked everywhere, found nothing.
@@NactSuht They should really just put the full word there. ^ ^; The score page fills the whole screen, and there's easily enough space. No worthwhile reason for the abbreviation in the first place.
Is why TA and all it's children are the true best competitive RTS, alongside Age of Empires perhaps. I've never been able to understand how stuff like Star Craft got the e-sports crown in the RTS genre. The game is so boring to watch. I watched three or so top tournament matches of StarCraft 2, and every single game was just six minutes of building up a deathblob, two minutes of frantic wiggling about at each other in the centre, and then one finally attacks and instawipes the other, who then instantly surrenders. Like what? Might as well skip to the end. Up to the last 17 minutes, there's wasn't a single minute of this BAR game where it wasn't anyone's game, and it gets you hooked wanting to know how it will progress step by step.
@@NactSuht Thankfully, I noticed that near the end of the video. Decided to download the game and give it a try. Seeing as I played more than enough SC, back in the day.
control your zoom bro. zoom in too close! now zoom out too far! now zoom in too close again! now zoom in and out in little increments so its frustrating to try and focus on anything in particular. now zoom all the way out and all the way back in again in quick succession!
What are the perceived holes in the game at this present time, boys? In my opinion, the unit counts / the macro needs to come down by 20%, just to keep the player's connection with units. Planetary Annihilation's core flaw was going too macro. I hope this game doesn't make the same mistake.
Painful to watch. He built the most expensive unit in the game, and all he had to do was right click the enemy base to win and he couldn't even do that.....
That transport picking up his t2 tanks was brutal hahahah awesome!!!
same xD
There is something impressive in Seeing the Endgame mechas taking multiple Nukes on their chests Like small slaps to stop a giant force.

Good to see BAR gameplay. Really hits the TA itch for me and my old friends.
I've been playing Zero-K for a long time and found this in my video search. What a happy surprise! I had no idea this existed. Love seeing more incarnations of TA
Epic and tense battle, and some funny trolling by the pros who were clearly having fun amidst the chaos! Thanks for the cast.
I’ve been watching TA spring off/on for about 12 years & I really like how it has evolved & been streamlined
I'm liking the graphics! It looks like an updated TA.
I’ve played OTA actively for my career as a TA player & I gotta say Spring & TAesc are the most perfected forms you’ll ever find
I couldn't agree more
This was soooooo entertaining to watch!
I'm glad you enjoyed it
Great cast, good to see it from an experienced player's perspective
Great job on the cast! Looking forward to more BAR videos. I like the narration and zooming into the action during the match
Wild to watch the pro who got cheesed in the beginning become the major carry of the match
AMAZING play. Picking up T2 is hilarious. Nice to show what skill can do!
42:39 Tower Defense
Atleast your giving credit at that moment in time the Joe’s are better then a hard AI against the pros

Great cast with some background knowledge for someone who is new to the game. Good job!
bar/spring is a damn beautiful rts, best i think
Great battle thank you I can't believe the amount of times it looked like the winners were going to lose.
Impressive what you are doing here!
Thank you
Man, there were many moments where if the Joes just attacked at the same time they probably win but they kept going one at a time. Crazy.
Holy shite this game was epic
Amazing fight there :)
This game should be in Steam for more visibility.
My favorite part, air transport stealing the heavy tanks.
33:45 LOOOOOL the pickup action, hillarious
Edit: ... followed by an hour of useless T1 spam, meeeeeh xD
I was worried for the pros for a bit there!
Great cast and a memey game hahah
Crogoth is a Cro-Magnon teen wearing black lipstick
Really good game, this the type game that i imagine when someone say "GG" at the end.
Even After the Bad Start because of the commander attack they slowly showed how quality can win over quantity

I don't see the Krogoth in my version of BAR........nor this "bantha" you mention.
I'm going by their original names, not whatever BAR calls them now. But they're the Arm and Core superweapons. They're in there.

yes in BAR tier 1 units serve a role late game... they tank the FPS to 10 and make the lategame unplayable.. thanks devs.
Is there a way to currently rebuild a commander?
You can resurrect a Commander with rez bots.

The vulcan shoot so slow compared to TA vulcan
he didnt have sufficient energy, u need around 30k to shoot full speed in BAR
