I walk creeks in northeast TN where I live. I don't fish them very often though. I look for artifacts. I have found hundreds of arrowheads; I found a raw uncut ruby one time and a few civil war artifacts as well.
@@CumberlandGapJimBow that's awesome! All of my fishing videos have more than one catch as well as something cool happening, or it's an explanation of techniques I'm using to try and help new fisherman.
I know lotsa folks probably prefer you going after lunkers but I really enjoy these multi species videos. It definitely brings me back to my youth. Thanks, you are a blessing!
Thank you I love seeing you fish on these little creeks like that That's what I used to do before my legs gave out on me Thank you For bringing back memories
I used to watch your videos a few years ago but I kind of lost interest in the fishing side of RUclips for a while. Now I’m getting back into creek fishing and started watching your videos again. Happy to see you haven’t changed. Keep up the great work John!
John thank you for sharing your day fishing you seemed to be having a really wonderful and beautiful time catching all these different types of fish in this creek! While other anglers fish in a pond or lake with huge fisheries you are just enjoying your day in these shallow creeks and rivers and show me what perfection is! You have mastered your game and bring us a whole different type of level of fishing and I say thank you! Tight lines take care and God bless!
I get a kick out of watching you get so excited over catching small sunfish......one reason I enjoy your vids so much. Thanks John for reminding us that it doesn't have to be about catching monsters to have fun.
That’s my kind of fishing! Man, some REALLY nice bull redbreast in that tiny creek. Glad you could sneak out in this awful heat to make a video! Thanks
Those Redbreast Sunfish are soooooooo awesome!!! Wish we had them here in Nashville area!!! Can't wait to catch those when I come down your way this summer!!
Quite possibly the greatest lure of all time, The Trout Magnet is a fish catcher through and through!!! I love fishing with it and I have caught so many species with it even suckers and catfish!!! Great video, Can't stop watching!!!
The golden trout magnets are my go to lure in the summer. Have caught largemouth, small mouth, catfish, crappie, and obviously sunfish and trout on them.
Good times! There's a hole on our creek that I've caught green sunfish, bluegill, creek chubs, shiners, bullhead, channel cat, largemouth, and spotted bass out of on the same little grub lure. It's super fun.
Great way to spend a hot day stalking creeks. That trout magnet really is what I call an equal opportunity offender bait. Catches tons of fish. And you had the right type of spinning gear to make it fun. Thanks for taking us along brother. Blessings John
Great video. Love that stream. Those Long Ear, Pumpkinseed and Red Breast would look so good in an aquarium. Still think you should get three or four large aquariums and do a feeding once per week. As many fish as you catch, you could rotate them out if they seemed to be getting stressed. Blessings!
Great to see you Brother! I went out today at around 10 am. 1st spot had tubers with rafts arrive and spook all the fish. Got Skunked! Your content cheered me up. Thanks and God bless 🙌
KN Fishing Smarts makes some great videos on Common Sunfish and the difference between each species plus hybrids. His videos are super interesting for ultralight anglers.
Just used the same jighead with pieces of earthworm to catch a few different sunfish species in the Santa Fe today. It works great, catches some nice Suwannee bass too. I’ve also caught my PB brown trout in the mountains on the same setup. 10/10 on the fishability of that lure in any water. Highly recommended to anyone.
I've been fishing an ultralight for the last 30 ish years but usually ponds and small lakes. Stumbled across your channel and decided I was gonna go wade a creek for the first time today and had a blast!
I was landing 10 inch bluegills the other day with a purple trout magnet, and even hooked into a huge steelhead with the bubblegum pink colour. Trout magnets are great!
I really enjoy your content. Weather it's tourneys or this. Me, I love the tiny baits. Ya never know what you'll catch. A 3" gobie or a 16" bass on the same lure. That's the fun part part for me.
That fish at the fifteen minute mark is my favorite. In florida and alabama some folks call them painted bream. We got into them on Styx river years ago in a small slough off the main river. They averaged over a pound apiece! Prettiest box of fish I have ever seen. They say on the Suwanee river they catch them over two pounds. Loved the video!.
I am originally from Ohio, I now live in Washington. I enjoy fly fishing in WA and ID, but I do miss the type of fishing we have back east. I never did much creek fishing when I was younger, but I sure would enjoy wading down one of these eastern creeks and catching fish all day long. Wading in western rivers is a bit tricker because they tend to be fast flowing and very rocky or bouldery. That can be hard on the knees and feet. There are a lot of these creeks that he wades that I would love to fish from my kayak.
I was using that lure today at WAR EAGLE MILL, caught a bunch of blue gill, little channel catfish, and a buddy of mine caught crappie with it, that lure is amazing.
I always love the small creek wading videos ! It's so hot here I can't stay out too long at a time. I'm looking to get a small Okuma reel for UL fishing. Do you use any other Okuma products? Always love the WORD at the end ! Be careful out there ! Pap Blevins
Trout/panfish magnets are killer here in Northern Arkansas, where you visited John. I actually did a resupply of them, even though I can't use them for another 3 months (surgery). Did you see Spencer sporting your Creek Monster shirt on his last video, amd he even shouted your channel out? Very cool. Great video as usual brother.
Love that trained sunfish at the beginning. Always on Q. How do you do it John. Never tried the trout magnet Until I saw you Using them. But it's about the only thing I use in small creeks. The occasional bass is a great surprise Especially on ultra light. Great video
2:07 : I think that’s a stomp knocker and sun fish cross .. the spots on the front of the head is the same spots from small stomp knockers … and that’s why it’s so pale looking
You should test out the dock runner by ugly stick. The rod is so durable I can't belive it. It is my go to creek and pond pole. Its like 20 bucks and they are great
You ever fished roaring paunch creek? It’s in KY, pretty close to TN, it’s a nice creek right by an old coal mine, white bass, largemouth smallmouth yellow perch, logperch, creekchub, and other stuff, I’ve fished it before it’s nice
I am retiring to TN soon (sorry... but....my family settled in TN before it was a state, and I grew up there... so I am just coming HOME). I was going to middle TN, but you just about have me convinced on coming to east TN.
great vid.....these are the ones that got me hooked on CFA in the beginning, now you've morphed to mostly bassing and kayak tourneys. its refreshing to get back to your roots on this channel
Hey bro, I just got back from making a micro fishing video in pigeon forge and Gatlinburg ! It was so hot. The trout were completely shut down. I got a lot of smallies and rock bass though.
Hey John, if you have a chance, can you post your Amazon Affiliate portal link in the description section? It should be just the basic link that isn't tied to any specific product. I have an Amazon affiliate for my ministry, so when I do my own shopping, I am always looking for someone to support by shopping through their affiliate link. Sorry, that was long-winded! Thanks for all the great content.
What lb test did you use? I myself thought of getting some 2 lb. But i can barely see the 4lb enough to tie it! But those trout magnets are tough to cast far even on the 4 lb

Man a longear sunfish would make a great tattoo lol
In north Georgia the red sunfish is much redder. The ones in Tennessee seem to be orange.

dude thats good, yeah i bet the trout were not so interested
I wonder if that second fish was a hybrid between bluegill and green sunfish as imo it looks like it has aspects of both of those species
How does the line stay tight to your reel on this setup? I’ve been having a hard time with this. 4.5 foot rod, not sure on line weight.
I’d love to fish with you brother! Very different in England
I ordered that Lews UL in a 6'6 on Tuesday. Curious to know how you like yours?
oh its really good
And use live minnows bc I did and caught a few big ones and my brother caught a catfish good luck
Spotted would look nice in tank.
What is a super dark green fish. I thought it was a large green sunfish. But I been told it could have been a sponinng cropie or blue gill
