DAMN! That ZR1 driver can shift! Just for that he takes the win. Amazing how fast that 12yr old ZR1 is and it is bone stock against a automatic beast that is modded on top of that. Intake, pulley, E85 tune that machine !!

Not disagreeing with the ZR1 driver part but the 63’s almost 1,000 Lb’s heavier which is a HUGE disadvantage. Zr1 Modded wins all day but for a daily, comfy, drivability the GT63 is still a beautiful machine.
@@thoota3010 agreed and I love luxury performance machines , but you are preaching to the choir. I have a 08 911 Turbo full bolt on E85 and I had as my daily a ECU & TCU tuned RS7. There where no comparison between vehicles speed and feel wise (all favoring the 911), but I so loved my RS7 for ALL that it offered, looks, luxury, space & just loved the complete package. Also the feeling to go door to door with a STOCK c7 ZO6 was worth its wait in gold, but owning at the same time the other old school manual sports car half (my 911), I never fooled myself thinking my RS7 could get down with an equally modded high performance sports car of that caliber……but man did it feel good for no hardware and just flashes to beat STOCK NISMO GTR’s by 3-4 lengths and surprise many with a luxury cruise ship!

So impressed with that Z being stock and 2 generations old now, my man can hit those shifts! Beautiful car, that AMG is badass too, but I didn’t realize they were that heavy. Charger/Challenger are heavy cars too and their chassis is Mercedes-Benz derived too, I guess it’s the same architecture evolved with AWD and literally a ton of luxury. AMG GT63 is heaviest for sure. E63 is a couple hundred pounds lighter. M5 Comp is like 400 pounds lighter

let’s start with the introduction of the LX platform that underpinned the newly reintroduced Charger and Challenger. The LX platform isn’t exactly a carryover from a Mercedes E-class, however that is not to say that the Germans didn’t help in redesigning the LH platform from which the LX is derived. In shifting the LH platform to a rear-wheel drive application, Dodge sent a team of engineers to Germany to study the upcoming Mercedes E-class for help with engineering suspension and chassis components. This was around the time that the Mercedes-Benz W211 E-class was coming to the market, which is the reason why the rear driven Dodge muscle cars utilized a “minimal” amount of Mercedes parts. These parts include things like W211 E-class 5-link rear suspension with the addition of a Dodge supplied sway bar, control arm front suspension off of the W220 S-class and the rear differential from the E-class. This suspension set-up can trace its roots back to the W210, which is where the commonly discussed link between the two-decade old Benz and the Dodge Challenger and Charger comes from.
Dodge also utilized the W5A580 5-speed automatic transmission from Mercedes as well, as DaimlerChrysler knew the system was adaptable for the all-wheel drive models that came later on. A litany of electrical components such as the ESP controller and engine modules came from the Mercedes parts bin at that time, as did the steering column and seat frames. Even the HVAC system was provides by Mercedes’ provider BEHR.
Now, when Dodge updated the Charger for the 2011 model year, the car was moved over to a “all-new” LD platform. Your definition of “all new” might be different than that of an automaker’s marketing team, as the LD appears to be little more than a tweaked version of the LX platform (and hey, that’s fine!). The suspension changes that Dodge cited as an example of this new design is change in geometry, not hardware. The five speed transmission was ditched in 2015 for a well-tuned 8 speed trans which is Austrian. The supercharger is Chinese 🤣. Electrical German 🤣.

My homie has a 720hp 2011 ZR1 with a few bolt ons and it’s certainly a car not to be underestimated. I rode in the passenger seat while he did several hard highway pulls and it nearly made me car sick with how fast it is lol

A lot of car makers switched to automatic Trans because even tho most guys THINK they're great shifters ... Their not & car makers have recieved complaints the car doesn't run what they claim... THIS guy can shift!! Even with that said you can still see a slight drop off between shifts... Automatic DCT trans cant be touched by human/manual... as always AG great stuff

The ZR-1 is without a doubt the King
For being 1400 pounds heavier and probably making only 50-100 horsepower more the amg did amazing. Idk why people are surprised by the zr1, it weighs only 3300 pounds and makes 638 horsepower lol, it’s fast stock!
It just shows how the people that come to this channel don't know a lot about cars. The zr1 is pretty much a supercar and that generation of zr1 was faster than every supercar of it's day (2010). It run a 10.7 1/4 mile and weight as much as a 720s McLarens which is light, what do people think it supposed to do against a car weighting 5,000+ lbs with 2 people in it. Smh
The 638 hp is crank hp not whp. The zr1 stock make like mid 500s whp. So it's around 150 whp difference

I thought C6 ZR1's only 6th is overdrive and C6 Z06's 5th and 6th are overdrive. Anyway very good racing very close.

I mean, this the GT63 makes almost 200 whp more than this stock ZR1. Factor in a DCT trans vs a car that's needed to be shifted manually, there's only so much the lighter car can do. lol
