Very glad to hear another PC enthusiast explain exactly why I use an iPhone. Somewhere around my 2nd or 3rd iPhone it became invisible and I never thought about how my phone worked again.

Using the Fold 3 for 2.5 years now. Its really brilliant. Had no build issues, updates have made it better, we got the stylus to sign documents. Huawei P30Pro, using it for 5 and a half years now. This thing just does not want to die! Even the battery lasts at least one day of heavy usage and the performance is still good enough, did not notice any slowdowns.

Still using my 4-year-old Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ and it is still snappy as on day one. Battery health is a solid 75 %. And I really really want the iPhone 15 pro (maybe Max) but I simply cannot justify buying a new phone yet. My Note is still way too good 👍
I've had a Samsung S10e for 4 years, bought in 2019 when it came out and was still going really good even tho it only had android 12 etc (which I don't really care since it works good), camera was good sometimes (cause sometimes it didn't focus well because of a fall, my bad) and the only reason that made me buy a new phone was that after the last and fatal fall, the lower part of the screen decided to become the brightest light it could be (brighter than a white screen at max brightness) so it wasn't so great to use anymore. I wanted to fix it and hold it another year, but I needed to replace back and front glasses and the display for a little patch of dead pixels also caused by a fall. Shortly, it was a great phone, fantastic ergonomics thanks to its dimensions, very resistent and snappy (even if it was EU version with exynos). Now I have an S23 but it just feels heavy and big, I wanted a compact phone but sadly it's not that compact with a cover on, but it works great and hope to keep it another 4+ years!
@@Drew1218s I had the s9 at the time and I loved that phone, but my friend had the s10e for work and I loved that form factor. I remember thinking it was so nice.
bought my wife a 15 Pro as an upgrade from the 12 Pro - usb-C is a giant plus since I'm firmly in Pixel land now we only need 1 type of cable, battery life on the 12 Pro after 3 yrs + of usage is really bad, and yes we both noticed how the island is much smaller in size vs. the notch. given how incremental the 14 series was, the 15 is definitely a good jump from the 12 and earlier series.
Dreams die in your comfort zone. Humans naturally gravitate towards comfort (that's why all the marketing is centered around it), but only if you don't bother understanding how bad it is would you make a statement of "it should be comfortable". Comfort is death.
i’ve had my iPhone 12 for a 1yr and 2 months. I absolutely hate it, my phone’s battery health is 87% it lasts about 3hr 30mins-4hours a day unless i charge it. It was my fault not getting enough storage on my phone which is why I can’t take any pictures or download apps anymore and my phone has made a habit of maybe 2-3 times a week of just turning itself off and on again while i’m using it. Definitely thinking on upgrading to iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone Pro Max idk if I need a bigger screen
wow the photos you took are gorgeous Demetri! thank you for sharing with us! I will still be rocking my iPhone 12 mini in 2024- I would have totally been swayed by your review but I just really like the smaller size ladies' fashion is forever cursed with shallow pockets lol
I'm also still rocking my iPhone 12 (128gb). Almost went for iPhone 15 but I think I'm going to hold out for an additional year. I do have an S22 Ultra though - i just can't deal without android lol and the telephoto definitely eased my temptation to upgrade my 12.
For sure, that S22U is super solid. I can’t do two phones, so the 15PM was the only choice. And didn’t wanna wait till Sept of next year for new models. -D.
I have both iPhone 13pro & Samsung S22U after updating it to Android 14 oneUI6 its been lagging & glitching out like crazy just freezing up the display goes 100% BLACK its really getting on my nerves & allowing me to remember why apple is the BEST
You asked about android users. I've been using poco f3 for the past 2 years, this is a 3 year old model. I am not into mobile photography, thats why ive no complaints about it. Its working perfectly fine for me. Plus a bit of custom rom magic is working harmoniously with it. I think i can rock this 2-3 years more without any issues.
I'm on the Pixel 6, going into 2024. I honestly love the cameras on this device which makes up for almost everything else. I'd however like a telephoto (So, I was thinking of getting a cheap upgrade to Pixel 6 Pro). The battery life is not the best, but I don't have issues with it and I'm going to keep rocking this till the phone supports well.
I did upgrade from 12 pro max 128gb to 14 pro max 512gb. the only reason was that i had a defected modem, with connection issues. yes apple did announce on the first year that it came out...that a big production had problems. if i didn't had that, i would stick with it. great video
used my oneplus 6 since it came out recently upgraded to a nothing phone 2 after trying out a google pixel 8 and 8 pro and 15 pro max. Im satisfied with the device
I had a Samsung Galaxy S20FE for about 3 years. The screen broke and i upgraded to the S23 Ultra. Major differences but I will be sticking with this for another 3-4 years.
I just swapped from a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE to the iPhone 15 Pro. The Galaxy was doing great for most things, but it started dropping calls or having people hear themselves echo back to themselves on WiFi calling. It was an incredible phone for a long time, but I wanted to swap to iPhone since I use a MacBook Air and AirPods Pro.
Just swapped from the s20 fe to the 15 pro as well. Started to notice lags and the performance was noticeably degraded and also felt the 15 was the perfect phone to introduce myself to the apple ecosystem since it is mature enough compared to other iPhone models that always had something bothering me (notch, lightning port etc).
For me, my daily driver is the Samsung S21 Ultra, max spec. I've had it since day 1, and it's still going strong. Battery life isn't an issue, especially when running additional apps like dynamicSpot, KWGT, in the background. I can easily use this for another year, but I wanna keep this phone purely for the cameras. No signs of wear, still looks brand new, especially with the recent One UI 6/Android 14 update.
I kept my iPhone SE until I received the notification that it won’t get security updates. I’ve been rocking the iPhone 12 mini and I don’t see myself upgrading anytime soon.
Been using One Plus 5 since it's launch, it's 6 years old swapped in a new battery a month ago and it's still working fine, fast and smooth os, good battery life, and screen still has poppy and accurate oled colors to it which still goes on par with current midrangers if you don't care about high hz display. Upgraded to nothing phone 2 this month and now I'm using OP5 as my secondary device it never fails
Three minor corrections: The default behavior of the action button is not do not disturb or focus modes, but the ringer switch It’s not on screen time, but screen-on time The camera does indeed put out 24mp photos, but the sensor itself is a 48mp one
I’m so shocked because you are going to exact path that I’m going I just hooked up with Verizon got zero down on this phone got the series 9 watch with the Pro Max 15 and planning on trading in my 12 for the discount. I’m not one to upgrade frequently, but I think every 3 to 4 years would be good. Great choice.
Honestly wait three years for an upgrade is definitely a wise choice. I used my 8 plus for 3 years before I finally upgrade to the 13 pro max because of a storage issues 😅 if my 8 plus has the same 1TB capacity I think I wouldn’t consider to upgrade and will definitely still use my fully working iPhone 8 Plus.
I too waited to replace my iphone 12, I don't play any games on it, ever, and this year I wanted to go for the 15 pro but just because of 144hz I saw no real advantage to get the 15 pro over the 15.The bigger 6.7" is just not comfy at all and one hand usage is very important to me.
Just moved to iPhone 15pro after being an avid android user since the galaxy s fascinate. iPhone is much better at pretty much everything and feels much more premium than any android I’ve had (with exception to the lg g5) except the assistant but it makes for a boring experience. Part of the fun of android wasn’t that it’s premium or smooth, it was that you’re getting cutting edge technology in a phone and you’re constantly getting cool new upgrades party tricks to show off to friends.
I'm still rocking my Galaxy S10 which is getting closer to being 5(!) years old. I find it very hard to find the perfect successor worth upgrading for.
Used the Galaxy Note 9 for 4 years before replacing it. It wasn't great for all 4 years but the Note 10 on the other hand still performs great even now, 4 years after release. I used it for a year after I retired my Note 9, from my partner. It's hard to notice a performance difference day to day compared to the S23 Ultra which I now used. Only upgraded coz it broke and the wireless charging and NFC were non-functional after screen and rear glass replacement.
I have a 12 pro max. Its paid off, I used a T-Mobile promo to get it paid off. I won’t be upgrading until this phone stops receiving updates or it just no longer functions. I’ve decided I’ll also no longer buy the highest tiered phone anymore also. Storage is important but I currently do not need 1TB on a phone. I’m barely using 512gb. Edit: I just checked and I’m using 97.56GB.
Been rocking my Samsung S21 (base& 256gb) since 2021 and despite a few software issues which were mostly solved with Android 14 (ONE UI6), my only criticism is the battery could be better for such a power hungry flagship phone.. I plan on replacing the battery next year and keeping the phone until it becomes obsolete!
Still rocking my OnePlus 8T, I don't think I'd go for another due to the price of their flagship now but honestly I can't fault this phone, the battery is still amazing and I haven't come across an app that slows it down. I want a new phone just for the change, but literally cannot find a reason to justify it due to the phone not giving me one...
I'm still using my iPhone XR since it first launched 5 years ago, and happily I've never felt the need to upgrade thus far. Perhaps when the next iPhone SE comes out, I'll consider replacing it. Surprisingly, iOS is still reporting 85% battery capacity despite never being replaced. I either got really lucky, or my particular daily use case just doesn't wear it out that much.
I'm still rocking my iphone 12 pro! Due an upgrade in february but debating going for the 15 pro max or making the change back to android. I feel like it would be easier sticking with apple considering I have an ipad, airpods and applewatch.
If you have AirPods and an Apple Watch, you won’t want to go with Android unless you buy a new watch and headphones. Half the features sadly don’t work without an iPhone, from notifications being read out or displayed on watch, health tracking, and Spatial Audio to name a few.
Considering changing to Android just to experience something new? With the rest of your Apple items, sticking to iPhone would be more seamless for sure. Unless you're one of those RUclipsrs who makes content on switching back and forth (I WAS WRONG / GOODBYE iPHONE etc) lol -D.
Here is some advice to you. If you want to try a new Android phone, look for year old samsung flagships. You can find good ones for cheap. They perform well but depreciate fast in price. Why? I'm sure there's lots of reasons. Either way, the phones become cheap fast, so you can get something relatively modern and just try it out. Maybe go to the store and see if the feeling of using one is even worth it to you.
I currently have iPhone 12 and haven’t had any issues until recently, sometimes it has a delay when swiping off apps . Might switch to 15 pro max for overall better phone .
I also upgraded from iphone 12 to 15 Pro Max, tho the capacity is not really important for me... But the type-C and the 120hz refresh rate, the newer and better cameras... that's what I would say are very important reasons for an upgrade! and the 15 Pro Max is actually my second iphone! Before the iphone 12 I was using the Galaxy S9+ wich started to lag a lot after the second year of use!
Yeah the camera is just a huge step up, especially the Ultra-Wide. The 12 gave me noisy and poor contrast images, but the 15 PM is on another level. I'm happy to hear so many are using Android for years, but with caveats like needing to do a full reset every 12-18 months or so, to get it back to feeling fresh. Something i've never had to do with iPhone. -D.
@@HardwareCanucks Well even after full factory reset the S9+ was still very laggy… and that was after it hit one and a half years (100% sure it’s because of the Exynos chip)! For example - while i was chatting with a friends via different messengers (FB messenger/ instagram/ viber) the phone was lagging a lot. So when I finished writing my message (around two sentences for example) the keyboard was still writing the last words from the first sentence 😂 That’s how bad it was. That was the main reason to switch from Android to IOS actually! At least 5 years software updates, and being a brand that’s using their own OS - it’s much more reliable! Yeah there’s still some features that I really miss from Android that are not in IOS but I can live without them. But living with a laggy smartphone is not OK for me.🙂
I recently upgraded to the 15 Pro Max from my trusty 11. I had no choice as my 11 suddenly died. Honestly, if it hadn't, I wouldn't have upgraded. Yes the 15 pro max is great, love the new cameras, usb c, thinner bezels...but it's still the same iPhone. Haha
Great review and reasoning! I use to upgrade annually when I used Android, which I did from about 2012 until the iPhone 12 came out. I had a 12 Pro Max and then got a 14 Pro Max primarily for the Dynamic Island which I personally love. My battery is still 100% on my 14 Pro Max, I work from home as well, so who knows when I'll upgrade. One of my sons is using my older 12 Pro Max so we will probably upgrade him this year with the 15 so you review is very helpful!
Wait, the standard iPhone 12 cost you $2200? Huh??? I know it's Canadian dollars, but I converted it to Norwegian money and it's so damn much. And it was more two years ago than the converter shows today. Wow.
@@Abdulrahman11799 I got a Nothing Phone 1. At the time, the OnePlus 10 and the state of Oxygen OS wasn't to my liking. The software is quite good but the bulky design of the Nothing Phone 1 has soured my experience and I am eyeing the compact S23/S24 as my next phone. The One UI 6 + Good Lock updates are also making it enticing.
Been using a oneplus 8t for the past 3 years. Battery life is still excellent, plus with the crazy quick charge if I plug it in at 35% its at 85% in like 15 minutes. Still feels snappy, espcially with the 120hz screen, and the camera has taken some awfully pretty pictures
I'm rocking a Oneplus 7T. I think the upcoming 12 will be the next upgrade and I'll wait out the first price drop/sale to see if anyone has issues with it. Worst case an 11 on discount to about $450 would be acceptable for the next few years.
Still using my Sony Xperia 5 III since 1.5 years, works fine. But lately it started killing Spotify and radio app in the background, which sucks. Sony, what have you done?!
I also switched from iPhone 11 Pro to 15pro max. Feels so freaking fast. Cameras (especially) in low light are incredible. I was able to take photos/ videos of northern lights with it
Apple did me sooo dirty back in the "intentional slow down" days of the iPhone 6. It's cool to see that you can actually hold on to one for 2+ years now. I'll still never go back tho, I hold grudges like a mfer lol ☠️

Still using my 4-year-old Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ and it is still snappy as on day one. Battery health is a solid 75 %. And I really really want the iPhone 15 pro (maybe Max) but I simply cannot justify buying a new phone yet. My Note is still way too good 👍
I never wanted this video to end. Great storytelling. I am also the owner of iPhone 15 Pro Max with 1TB of storage. It's brillant!
Jeeez 1TB? Curious how long this will last for you and what was the main reason going into that capacity?
-D.
@@HardwareCanucks Hahaha I shoot a lot of 4K videos in LOG for work. Like you, I plan to keep it for years to come.
I had s10e snapdragon version as well , favorite phone I’ve ever owned.
Watching this from my iPhone 12 mini
Been using this for my vlogs in my other channel and the quality is so good
wow the photos you took are gorgeous Demetri! thank you for sharing with us!
I will still be rocking my iPhone 12 mini in 2024- I would have totally been swayed by your review but I just really like the smaller size
ladies' fashion is forever cursed with shallow pockets lol
Yay, long live 12 mini! :D
Thank you 🙏 yes the mini is such a nice size for sure. My wife laughs when we compare the 15PM to the 12 mini.
-D.
I went from the XR to this and I'm loving it
I'm also still rocking my iPhone 12 (128gb).
@@katinasoutherland7693cool story bro
You asked about android users. I've been using poco f3 for the past 2 years, this is a 3 year old model. I am not into mobile photography, thats why ive no complaints about it. Its working perfectly fine for me. Plus a bit of custom rom magic is working harmoniously with it. I think i can rock this 2-3 years more without any issues.
Once you see a 120hz+ screen you can't unseen
Review aside, I just wanted to say how beautiful your photos are
Still using my OnePlus 5 from 2017 and only last month started having some issues. Hoping to stretch it out for one more generation!
Still rocking my 11 Pro Max. Battery health is at 91% and the phone has held up really well. I'll wait a bit longer before upgrading
Just here to give a thumbs up for the Seiko GMT 🍊
Yeah love that piece 👍 the orange is stunning!
-D.
Still rocking the Redmi K20 Pro from 2019 and still going strong. ( Have a changed the battery recently).
@@kstef__ Yeah, bro, the USB-C made the switch a lot easier for me.
Still rocking my iPhone 3G. I don’t see a need to upgrade man.
Ppl don’t realize it but, every phone they make has different features, better camera quality and has that one tiny upgrade.
Alright!
I am upgrading, thanks D-dawg!
Had my fold 2 for 3 years now fold 5 love them
Rocking a Galaxy Note 10 Plus from 2019. Still no complaints aside from some minor ones.
Three minor corrections:
The default behavior of the action button is not do not disturb or focus modes, but the ringer switch
It’s not on screen time, but screen-on time
The camera does indeed put out 24mp photos, but the sensor itself is a 48mp one
Still using my s9. its still rocking!
I did an upgrade from a 12 to the 15 pro max too.
i continue to use my iphone 13 pro max, i get mostly two days of battery life and it works completely fine for me.
Cool shot of Sveta Nedelya and around Sofia!
Still using the OnePlus 8T here. The dual batteries improve the daily SoC experience quite a bit.
Just moved to iPhone 15pro after being an avid android user since the galaxy s fascinate. iPhone is much better at pretty much everything and feels much more premium than any android I’ve had (with exception to the lg g5) except the assistant but it makes for a boring experience. Part of the fun of android wasn’t that it’s premium or smooth, it was that you’re getting cutting edge technology in a phone and you’re constantly getting cool new upgrades party tricks to show off to friends.
iPhone 7 Plus to iPhone 15 Pro Max was an awesome upgrade.
I got the SE2 in 2020 and the 15 looks good. I'm quite willing to be patient and wait until next year though
100% agree use what works for you!
Now can my iPhone user friends stop telling me to switch
On iPhone 12 Pro, decided I am waiting for iPhone fold
I've been upgrading on the 5s, kinda accidentally. Went from a 5S to a XS to a 15 Pro. Guess my next will be the 20.
Awesome video. I’m making this same leap tomorrow. Great to see a video justifying it 😂
Just upgraded from the 7 plus. Hoping the 15 pro max will last me 5 years.
Unless you're one of those RUclipsrs who makes content on switching back and forth (I WAS WRONG / GOODBYE iPHONE etc) lol
-D.
Phone of the year, hands down 😌.
But living with a laggy smartphone is not OK for me.🙂
It seems like I’m keeping my 13 mini until the end of time. I just don’t want a bigger phone!
I'll prolly be making the 15 pro purchase next week
I recently upgraded to the 15 Pro Max from my trusty 11. I had no choice as my 11 suddenly died. Honestly, if it hadn't, I wouldn't have upgraded. Yes the 15 pro max is great, love the new cameras, usb c, thinner bezels...but it's still the same iPhone. Haha
Amazing quality and an amazing taste of music 😊, i cought Above & Beyond Flow state 😍
Great review and reasoning!
Happy to hear it :) Everyone i know who upgraded to the 15 from 14 is happy. It's lighter and more comfortable in the hand.
-D.
Still rocking my Galaxy s10e for 4 years now, still performing well, will only upgrade if it dies or I start experiencing battery issues
Im still rocking the 11 and might just wait for the iphone 20 pro max plus ultra edge
Wait, the standard iPhone 12 cost you $2200? Huh??? I know it's Canadian dollars, but I converted it to Norwegian money and it's so damn much. And it was more two years ago than the converter shows today. Wow.
I used my OnePlus 6T for 4.5 years until I bought a new phone. Still looking for something that satiates my smartphone needs like it did.
Which phone did you get?
Currently on the 12 pro max and looking to get to 16 pro max
I'm rocking a Oneplus 7T. I think the upcoming 12 will be the next upgrade and I'll wait out the first price drop/sale to see if anyone has issues with it. Worst case an 11 on discount to about $450 would be acceptable for the next few years.
Also really happy from 2020 with 7T Pro. But I'm going to buy the 15 Pro max, I want both iOS and Android.
I think I’m waiting for the 16 pro. I may even get the 17 pro max
Nice seiko. One of my favourite watches
This review kinda feels like you talking about changing from a base iphone to a pro max, rather than generational change between the 12 and the 15.
Still using my Sony Xperia 5 III since 1.5 years, works fine. But lately it started killing Spotify and radio app in the background, which sucks. Sony, what have you done?!
Galaxy S22 Ultra, am not planning an upgrade any time soon, 2 years and not a scratch
Merry Christmas Dimitri.
I also switched from iPhone 11 Pro to 15pro max. Feels so freaking fast. Cameras (especially) in low light are incredible. I was able to take photos/ videos of northern lights with it
Nice 👍 I love the upgraded ultra-wide lens too. So much cleaner and sharper vs my 12.
-D.
Apple did me sooo dirty back in the "intentional slow down" days of the iPhone 6. It's cool to see that you can actually hold on to one for 2+ years now. I'll still never go back tho, I hold grudges like a mfer lol ☠️
I am still rocking my Nokia 3310...I will be changing its batteries for the 6th time tommorow...I keep thinking I should upgrade but just knowing that I have the comfort of using it as a door stopper, paper weight..weapon to break someones head...play tetris and indulge myself in the ultimate struggle to write sms within 140 characters are a few things I cannot live without. Maybe one day I will updgrade to this smartphone game..still waiting for something thats worth it.
