Hi Scott. Please distinguish yourself from others on RUclips covering Copilot. Start by stating upfront which version you’re discussing: Copilot Pro for personal accounts or Copilot for Enterprise for business account. As they are very different in terms of what users are able to perform. For example, in your find email demo (6:55), please be clear that this action cannot be performed for personal accounts with Copilot Pro subscription. Lots and I mean lots of RUclipsrs are struggling with this, which leads to confusion.

I had the same confusion and despite multiple attempts could neither use this function on official account nor the personal. I don't know what's the issue.
@MoizMoiz-ow8qq the funny thing is that CoPilot does the same thing....Microsoft changes their admin tools so frequently, not even CoPilot can keep up - when trying to do something that I know is part of Purview, CoPilot keeps telling me to go to a site that explicitly states "This admin console has been deprecated, Purview is the new home"

Hi - great video. QQ.Does copilot learn from previous email responses we’ve used as a business. For example, if there’s a particular reply we typically use for specific customer enquiries (eg what’s our shipping policy etc), will copilot recognise the response trend we’ve used and start to build this legacy detail into its own replies?
soooooo...if you type forward slash and that option doesn't come up...what does that mean? Is it a separate app, add on etc?
Great content, but the title should be "How to use Microsoft Copilot WITH Outlook" as a lot of these features are not IN outlook but in Copilot 365 Enterprise edition.
I think it might be more effectiive to just sent the original AI prompt to the recipient, rather than a flowery mail. And assuming he also has co-pilot, then it will just turn into a case of AI vs AI...The original prompt was concise, direct and captured everything you really wanted to say...
There is a concern that in the future, we end up writing AI generated emails to each other and then the whole question is why we are then e-mailing each other 😃

6:55 you asked copilot to find the email. To clarify, would Copilot Pro (365 personal or family) allow us to perform that search in web version of our personal outlook account? Not sure if you’re using Copilot for business or personal (Pro) in your demo. Thanks
Great question! So, you are right, a Copilot Pro setup will not give you access through Teams, as that’s related to the Microsoft 365 Copilot setup, where you have Teams.
As an alternative, you can access Copilot Pro Chat via a Browser at copilot.microsoft.com and ask it questions etc. However I’d need to check whether your data is then available for Search - or whether it’s just content generation 👍

Do you need to be using outlook exhange server for the search and priortization features or can i use my own non-ms imap server
This is currently based on Exchange Online Mail Servers, which build the Semantic Index for Copilot to look up from. I’m sadly not aware of a connection to another mail server is currently supported in Copilot
@@your365coachI think you also need a specific license type. Office 365 Business Standard does NOT have any reference to co-pilot in it, either desktop or web-based Outlook. Last I looked, they want an extra $20/user/month to add Co-Pilot functions. Too bad. It could be useful, but no way to get that put into my budget realistically.
What about outlook helping analyze the content of emails? For example telling on what dates my condo association discussed anything having to do with fire alarm systems?
finally I'll be able to find specifics emails lost in my inbox! XD

Can Copilot learn my writing style?
Some coll tips there but lack of functionality of a Copilot inside Outlook combine with lack of functionality of the new Outlook itself in comparison to the previous version is almost insulting.
Can you access Copilot in regular Outlook 365 or do you need to use the "new" outlook?
There’s limited capabilities in the current version of Outlook versus the ‘New’ Outlook and therefore I would recommend using the ‘New Outlook’ to have all the capabilities I shown here 😎

IMO, this is a double-edged sword. Long, bloated e-mails that contains "words" without a succinct meaning or driving towards a result will be discarded as AI garbage. To your point, it's level 1 of copilot in Outlook.... until I can build automated workflows / rules / responses etc. from a persona, I don't think it will be to useful.
Copilot as with ChatGPT does add some word bloat - but if I was to use the Copilot drafts, I would certainly be reviewing and editing pieces to ensure it aligned to my usual style of communication too 😁

Searching for emails using copilot didn't work for me even though i was logged in to it with my work email. Why would this be?
I just noticed that Copilot only works in Outlook for the one email account that is licensed, ignoring the licensing of our Microsoft 365 suite as a whole.
To use Copilot with my five email accounts, I'd have to pay $100-150 per month! :-(
Just bought a copilot licence and I have to say I'm extremely underwhelmed. It is not at all worth the price.
What if my recipient also uses copilot? Then two copilots start corresponding, it's interesting where we finish up.
That’s a concern of mine; what if Copilot ends up just emailing replies back to Copilot? Where does the human add value? It’s an interesting perspective as we look to the future in the value of email 🤗
I'm very excited about the new tools, but they're not quite where they should be yet. For instance, when I ask Copilot how many emails with a certain keyword are in the inbox, it counts them incompletely. Not to mention further sorting options. And unfortunately, that's not the productivity boost that Microsoft advertises.
I do agree, I still think it has room for more improvement and I am hoping by the end of 2024 it will as powerful as we hoped

Sure, Copilot capabilities require an additional license / product for Office Apps to use it.
You would need either Copilot Pro (if you have a family or individual subscription) or Microsoft 365 Copilot if you have a business subscription 😁
you does not show how to ativate. I bought the license but it is not showing nothing to me. Web nor program.
It will activate automatically for you; you just need to ensure you are running the latest version of Outlook and id recommend the ‘New’ Outlook. It will then turn itself on within 48 hours of being purchased and show in Outlook, Word etc
It probably takes just as long geneerate reviewing and altering than just typing your email
Surely a good microphone and Dragon Professional Individual (or similar) is the quickest and most accurate way to write a decent email.
Possibly, although it's been a while since I used Dragon Software 😀 - I would think of this capability more around writing the email for you, which you could then adapt
By the time you’ve messed about with all the bits and bobs. You could have written it yourself 😮
It’s pretty good for a short sentence and then transforming into a longer email in a few seconds 😁
and again another thing for Microsoft to charge you for. that will be co pilot the new planner and viva goals
Sadly, yes the Copilot capabilities are a paid for feature
To be honest I can't see the point of having your emails written for you. Quicker to do myself and I'm a lot more concise. The rest seems good though.
Don't be stupid and trust the current state of AI, it's a lottery and could end up emailing your boss some porn from your account
