I’m a diehard Bearcats fan and Ridder was a part of one of the best football years I’ve ever had as a Cincinnati sports fan. I was at the Notre Dame game where we got our sweet, sweet revenge over Brian Kelly and Ridder was a massive part of that. Love the dude. Even I knew he wasn’t an NFL-caliber QB.
he may have played that game well but Cinny don't play nobody and if his offensive line was good they don't go against many power 5 teams. I don't believe in drafting any QBs that aren't from a Power 5 or a team that plays alot of Power 5 teams
The Falcons should also evaluate their coaching situation too, cause nearly 3 years in, and Arthur Smith is not "the guy" moving forward. It's kind of a travesty that this Falcons team is not competitive when you factor in the amount of talent on this team, and how weak the NFC South Division is. You have one of the best offensive lines to protect your QB, you have fantastic skill position players, the defense is still a work in progress but one step at a time, so how are you not sitting at the top of your division? The Saints and Buccaneers are slowly on the downslide without Brees and Brady, while the Carolina Panthers are in full rebuild. This is the prime position for the Falcons to assert themselves at the top, and yet, here we are. Ridder is not "the guy" at QB, but I also say Smith is not "the guy" at head coach, either.
@@prezzJ Benefit of hindsight: business ties ain't enough to mask incompetence. Arthur Smith has been served his pink slip, literally past midnight after Sunday of Week 18.
I don't have a problem with them drafting him. The problem I have is Arthur Smith giving him the starting job. He did not earn it. Taylor was supposed to start from the start. I feel it was Taylor's job to loose.
Unfortunately for the Falcons Ridder is terrible but as a team they are not bad enough to land a top 5 pick in next year's draft. So they wouldn't be able to draft a top QB anyway.
You have to realize that most of these QB’s coming out of college don’t know how to read a playbook or study film and instead they just go off of talent and that alone is not enough in the NFL
Idk. Has Arthur smith put a single falcons player in a good position to succeed? London, Robinson, Pitts all must be bums too because they have all been meh at best under smiths ancient playcalling. I think ridder is a backup, but I think smith holds all the blame for most of this
You can’t keep blaming these QBs for the offense failures. The biggest problem is Arthur Smith trash ass offensive scheme. All you have to do is take a look at Kurt Warner’s evaluation of Smith’s offensive system.
Not surprised when I saw Kyle Pitts and Drake London stats I immediately knew Arthur Smith needs to do something like how is your best receivers have a combined total of 3 TDS? And were how many weeks into the nfl season?😭
Well Heinicke did everything he could to win against the Vikings today and they fell just short. And now we realize a truth. Arthur Smith must’ve stuck with Ridder as a safety blanket. For the first time since Ridder’s first start, Arthur Smith had a competent QB. Yet we still lost. Desmond Ridder certainly ain’t the guy. Heinicke proved that. But today also proved a dark, hidden truth. Ridder may not be the guy but he isn’t the problem. Arthur Smith is.
I'm with you on that it's a coaching problem. Going for 2 down 8 against the Commanders was the play that solidified that in my mind. Mind you, I like Arthur Smith, but he's just not the right guy for this team; he's a good OC for a run heavy team, but not a good HC. Also, I think a lot of people overrate our O-line. Statistically good, but in practice, not really. A couple of the Ridder fumbles against Tampa weren't entirely Ridder's fault, the center (Dalman) didn't really give Ridder a fair chance to take the ball from him, especially the one after that insane catch by London at the goal line. It's frustrating because we can be good, Ridder can be good, but the situations we're in just aren't conducive to being anything but mid.

Not a Falcons fan by any means, but dude hasn't played a full season yet. Not every QB starts their career like Stroud. Some QB's its a process. Let dude play, hopefully improve and get better. Let's see what happens later in the season and maybe next.
I’m a diehard Bearcats fan and Ridder was a part of one of the best football years I’ve ever had as a Cincinnati sports fan. Even I knew he wasn’t an NFL-caliber QB.
Arthur Smith 18W-25L, Ryan 7W-10L, mariotta 5W-8L, Ridder 6W-6L, Heinicke 0W-1L. Now perhaps you should have waited before jumping into this battle, since I just provided proof that ryan, mariotta, and heinicke per record are worse than Ridder and now that Heinicke has lost its finally proof that Arthur Smith and his play calling is tge problem and not forcing him out on a medical or keeping him from playing changes the truth. The problem is not the qb, the players, or the fans, it's Arthur Smith.
I know young players struggle but Ridder hasn't even shown any glimpses of hope. Ridder has 14 Total TDs & 15 Turnovers with many offensive Weapons at his disposal. He''s a 3rd round pick so the Falcons won't lose much by moving on but if the Falcons get stubborn & hang on to the idea that Rdder can blossom into something they can lose a lot. What the Falcons need is a pocket passing QB that can get the ball to Pitts & London.
Desmond Ridder is product of his coaching, and training staff, ish glows down hill. Arthur Smith has to be one of the last few terrible head coaches in the league right now.
He is who the league thought he was. Arthur Smith the only guy who thought Ridder was a franchise guy. It’s his fault not Ridder’s Ridder literally playing as good as you could expect a career backup with little experience to play.
It’s the truth.. OL was one of top in league. Run game was so strong.. same RBs did so much better last yr. It wasn’t the greatest team, but it clicked. Passing offense is just as bad this year. Maybe has to do with route design… not enough separation. But team was much better with Mariota.
He is dog water dude got mahomes treatment for the past 2 years and everyone threw mariota under saying that ridder would be better LMAO ridder got benched sooner than mariota did and ridder had more time and better team 😭😭 truth hurts but ridder done lost the locker room he’s in fact 🐶 💧
@@heaven1189 your a casual. They haven’t given him a real chance. And thats cool. It’s football. But he only gets to throw 12-16 passes a game. Thats not enough to make an impact as a starting qb in the nfl.
You’re message should be more “Ridder hasn’t shown he can be in a starter yet….” He can grow into a starter in ATL or maybe that team just isn’t the spot for him. Labeling young QBs as bust before they truly get enough league experience is naive
So if im hearing this right your judging a rookie for making rookie mistakes in whats basically his first true year in the NFL? Also taylor heineke played mid today its clear that he isnt anything special, Falcons fan want sum to change the second sum goes wrong, it took josh allen, tua, and a bunch of other good nfl qbs at least a full season to be good, josh allen was garbage as a rookie, but we cant hold out a year for Ridder??? Our fanbase is so imaptient and dont get me wrong i wanna win, i want the falcons to be good, which is y benching a rookie midway through the season is a bad idea, what team has ever done good swapping qbs, putting in Heineke means that this is our 4 QB IN 3 YEARS
I didn't need to see him plat to know he wasn't the guy.He did an interview with Rich Eisen and I called it then. He just doesn't have the moxy to be a QB in this league. Will Levis has it, and you can see with significantly less snaps he has it.
Falcons still haven't cut or traded him. This Falcon's franchise is complete garbage. Had a chance to get the 2nd winningest coach in history & and opted for a DEI Hire. Amazing fail.
Yes, thats the point. Mariota did more with less of a team. His 2022 defense didn’t help him. His OL was one of the best cause MM would change the play at scrimmage when he saw what defense was doing. The run game under Mariota was one of best. His ability to run made the defense play11 men. Watch last yr tape again.
Dont agree that Ridder is the only problem. Doubt that Atlanta's OL is that good after being TERRIBLE last year. McGary has struggled as a pass blocker, Dalman is garbage, Matthews is mid, that kid from Syracus is a rook and even Lindstrom's (the best one) has bad games from time to time. Nobody at WR besides London. PITTS IS OVERRATED AF. The dude runs lazy ass routes and gets bullied by defenders half his size. Desmond will be a good backup QB like most 3rd round picks AND he is essentially a rookie. Mistakes in his game atp was inevitable. The real issue is Smith and his scheme that multiple ex NFL QBs have basically called his system out for being trash. They didnt even use a slot receiver last year. They have one this year and barely use him. They use Pitts as a blocker on passing downs. The FALCONS OVERALL TEAM is still rebuilding. Idk wth everyone is expecting from this unit. Playoffs is a major longshot (division is weak). Championship contender status is further than that. When they moved on from Ryan, that signalled the start of a rebuild. Mariota was a bridge, Ridder/Heinicke are backups, and now they need to pick the right QB or get set back for the next four years if they dont. New HC likely incoming next year 2.
Ridder will probably wind up in the XFL or the USFL or maybe even the CFL and could do okay at that level of competition, but no way is he good enough to be an NFL QB1.....or QB2. Smith and Fontenot sold themselves on a dream of "stealing" a franchise QB in the 3rd round.
I don’t agree with the video. Desmond Ridder has not started a full season. Matt Ryan said it himself, that on field experience is way better than learning behind a QB. Not to mention that he was progressing. Yes, he had some costly turnovers but you can clean those up. Drake London had a fumbling problem last year. Guess what he did the next season. Fixed it. Fumbles are easy to fix. You have ti build muscle. Those interceptions are from him forcing throws because the play calls are ass. There’s a lot of times where he literally has no option, so he just chucks it up and prays. If Arthur smith would run the ball more or used more screens to help him get warmed up. That would open up the playbook and get WR open. You can’t tell me that what Taylor did vs. The Vikings Desmond Ridder could not do. Also remember most of the great QB’s had years to develop. Look at Jalen hurts. It took him 3 years.
Desmond Shidder does not have what it takes to be an NFL QB and when QBs are drafted, it's a hit or miss and usually a miss unless you get lucky. Guess what, Jamesion Winston was a miss for tampa bay and he was number 1, so was Tim Couch. Ryan Leaf was number 2 pick and we know what he did. At least Desmond was not a 1st round pick. Not all is Desmond fault. Arthur Blank needs to get his sh** together, it's not the same as building a Home Depot. Blank has missed on his hires, Mike Smith was his only good coaching hire so far. Desmond Shidder does suck, but not all is his fault. The college and pro games are different. Dismond's career is not over yet, he can be a back up for a few years, but he needs to invest wisely, his payday is not going to happen.

Baker Mayfield is competent with good talent in Tampa. That's the water line. Desmond is well below. it.
Let’s not forget how many sacks he done took to because of holding the ball to long or not throwing it away
Why are you making this video? He’s not the starter anymore. You’re not saying anything we all think. Some of y’all RUclipsr are weird as hell 😂
The only thing Arthur Blank did for the Falcons was drafting Matt Ryan!
And Vick lol
@@gregoryfequiere6773 Vick was drafted before Blank bought the team, and Jones needed too much help to be considered a legitimate Elite WR.
Imagine if the colts woulda determined Payton Manning "Not It" after he threw 28 ints and 3 fumbles his first full season as a starter 😂😂 3-13 season too.
You think Ridder has that potential? Seriously
It's crazy how fast "fans" turn on these young QBs
@@budro2bgr3 I mean how do you determine potential He's made some good plays that unfortunately do not overshadow the bad ones but still you should at least give any young player a full season to prove himself unless you got a crystal ball. A lot of the great ones have sucked their first full seasons and coaches just went based off flashes That's all I'm saying 😁
@@travishouse6295 could be worse Falcons could have drafted Bryce Young 🤣🤣
Kid doesn't suck. His coach was trash. Put him in a situation with a good coach and he shines. The talent is there.
Kid doesn’t suck he’s just ass juice* 😂 reason why ATL moved on from him instantly lol now he’s doordashing my meals 😂
He suck just like that old coach we had😂
taylor heinicke is not winning this team games man. man makes the same twp as ridder. I'd rather have a "rookie" that was clearly improving as a passer, shown that he can lead a game winning drive, and try to fix his turnover issues then start a vet qb that makes the same mistakes as my 2nd year qb and the offense stays the SAME. how about you talk about the main issue here and thats ARTHUR SMITH.
Not a Falcons fan by any means, but dude hasn't played a full season yet. Not every QB starts their career like Stroud. Some QB's its a process. Let dude play, hopefully improve and get better. Let's see what happens later in the season and maybe next.
Ridder is not a natural leader of men. It seems forced and robotic. Ridder is mid.
ATL needs to TRADE for JF and bring the home town kid home
Same here
Same Here
I’m a diehard Bearcats fan and Ridder was a part of one of the best football years I’ve ever had as a Cincinnati sports fan.
Even I knew he wasn’t an NFL-caliber QB.
Miss Matt Ryan
That was a horrible QB class that he came out of.
There’s a guy named Prock Burdy…..I think…..
make one for daniel jones
He is a third round pick, so it's not a huge investment. Look at Jets with Wilson or 49rs with Lance.
Ridder is a better passer of the football thab Heineke
You want Jimmy G ?
You can have him for a washing machine
I’d rather have younghoe koo at qb
@@elijahwilliams638😂 mnee wtf I'm dead 😂🤦
Arthur Smith 18W-25L, Ryan 7W-10L, mariotta 5W-8L, Ridder 6W-6L, Heinicke 0W-1L. Now perhaps you should have waited before jumping into this battle, since I just provided proof that ryan, mariotta, and heinicke per record are worse than Ridder and now that Heinicke has lost its finally proof that Arthur Smith and his play calling is tge problem and not forcing him out on a medical or keeping him from playing changes the truth. The problem is not the qb, the players, or the fans, it's Arthur Smith.
Been calling him Desmond cant be Midder all season.
They should play Heineke he jus gives the offense a spark
A spark which goes nowhere
I know young players struggle but Ridder hasn't even shown any glimpses of hope. Ridder has 14 Total TDs & 15 Turnovers with many offensive Weapons at his disposal. He''s a 3rd round pick so the Falcons won't lose much by moving on but if the Falcons get stubborn & hang on to the idea that Rdder can blossom into something they can lose a lot. What the Falcons need is a pocket passing QB that can get the ball to Pitts & London.
**** Week 18 was against Tampa Bay's 2nd and 3rd strings ****
Is Taylor Hineke better than Desmond? Idk, as a Bears fan I do feel the pain of young QB's trying to work it out.
Honestly I think he is better than him
Desmond Ridder is product of his coaching, and training staff, ish glows down hill. Arthur Smith has to be one of the last few terrible head coaches in the league right now.
Nah ridder is just garbage
@heaven1189 What you say don't matter you don't even have a icon picture.
I mean, he looked good in the buccs game, minus the fumbles In the red zone
if they’d run the ball in the red zone
that would’ve been his best game
He is who the league thought he was.
Arthur Smith the only guy who thought Ridder was a franchise guy. It’s his fault not Ridder’s
Ridder literally playing as good as you could expect a career backup with little experience to play.
ridder will be back. heinekie couldnt beat a 3rd string qb even when they tried to hand us the win 3 times
Nah ridders fucking garbage😂
The offense was better with Mariota. It hurts me to say that
It’s the truth.. OL was one of top in league. Run game was so strong.. same RBs did so much better last yr. It wasn’t the greatest team, but it clicked. Passing offense is just as bad this year. Maybe has to do with route design… not enough separation. But team was much better with Mariota.
Considering he’s had Arthur smith as his head coach for his career, we don’t really know what he is.
Im 34 and have been watching football since i was 7 i have not heard this of this guy in my life until now.
He was a beast at university of Cincinnati
Bro people are so down on him, but he’s not a starter y’all just thought he was.
Which is absurd he’s obviously a back up and a damn good one.
Madden loves this dude though, for whatever reason.
He takes ATL to Super Bowl at least once in all my franchises the past two Maddens 😂😂
Falcons wishing they drafted Sam Howell 😂
I never got the hype for him. his celling is a journeyman QB thats it
Ridder isn’t a bad qb, they wont open up the play book. Its bullshit to think he’s just dog water
I hate channels that trash players . especially when they don't understand how hard the NFL is
@@jameshollister8294 in my opinion they haven’t really given him a chance. 12-15 pass attempts per game
What’s worst is, the coach actually put him out there.
You’re message should be more “Ridder hasn’t shown he can be in a starter yet….” He can grow into a starter in ATL or maybe that team just isn’t the spot for him. Labeling young QBs as bust before they truly get enough league experience is naive
Ridder, Purdy, Howell, Willis all better than small hands.
Ridder somehow looks old and young at the same time
QB picks are always a gamble. He has talent but not consistency. Birds going nowhere this year, again. 7 wins maybe…
Our fanbase is so imaptient and dont get me wrong i wanna win, i want the falcons to be good, which is y benching a rookie midway through the season is a bad idea, what team has ever done good swapping qbs, putting in Heineke means that this is our 4 QB IN 3 YEARS
so pissed the one time he balled out had to be against the Texans
I didn't need to see him plat to know he wasn't the guy.He did an interview with Rich Eisen and I called it then. He just doesn't have the moxy to be a QB in this league. Will Levis has it, and you can see with significantly less snaps he has it.
Arthur Smith’s play calling is even worse
Falcons still haven't cut or traded him. This Falcon's franchise is complete garbage. Had a chance to get the 2nd winningest coach in history & and opted for a DEI Hire. Amazing fail.
And now hes a sucky raider
Desmond ridder Sucks but Mariotta was fine lol
Yes, thats the point. Mariota did more with less of a team. His 2022 defense didn’t help him. His OL was one of the best cause MM would change the play at scrimmage when he saw what defense was doing. The run game under Mariota was one of best. His ability to run made the defense play11 men. Watch last yr tape again.
@@anniemouse8450 in 2022 MM was 5-8 and Dez was 2-2. I'll beg to differ.
It would have cost the Falcons Bijann but they could have traded for Lamar Jackson 😂
New HC likely incoming next year 2.
life in atlanta was rough pre and during matt ryan as well. just saying
If you're a true fan since the induction of the team in 1966, the Matt Ryan years were the best successful seasons the franchise ever had
I say before we give up on the kid, let's fire Dave ragon and the QB coach and get him a new one. Cause those coaches are useless.
He’s a 3 round pick. The falcons and the NFL had unrealistic expectations
Shit didn’t make it no better “Mariota” “mentored” him
I don’t agree with the video.
Is this where everyone says "Duh"?
Yeah i don’t know why people was hyping him up i knew he would lose the job before the season even started
Londons a stud?
They’re 4-5 now Skol Vikings
