Happy Birthday Gene Autry

America’s Favorite Singing Cowboy, Gene Autry, was born on September 29, 1907 a few miles outside of Tioga, Texas. Today we celebrate our Cowboy’s 115th birthday by sharing some of Gene’s personal memories. In 1987 Gene and his good friend, Pat Buttram, reunited to tape the television show Melody Ranch Theater. Each episode featured one of Gene’s classic Western movies, cut down for television, with original opening and closing segments where Gene reminisced about making the movies along with a wide range of subjects. We hope you enjoy this video as Gene remembers some of the highlights of his remarkable life.

Happy 115th Gene, I wish you many more!!! Note, Gene is the "ONLY" entertainer as of today who has got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in all five categories which are: 1. Motion Pictures, 2. Broadcast Television, 3. Audio Recording or Music, 4. broadcast radio, 5. Theater/Live Performance. Yes, Gene is the only one in all five, and of course it's gonna be hard to beat today simply because as of today I don't think anyone is doing any broadcast radio. The number 5. category was added in 1984, whereas I'm guessing the other four were all put in there at the same time.
