There are a few suggestions for making a great speech:
Give yourself enough time.
Start writing. Put down whatever you can - that's better than empty paper!
Ask for assistance from friends. You do not need to do it by alone
Use ready made speech outlines.
Try it out in front of severl people and ask for tips and advice.

Here's a few suggestions for writing a great speech:
Allow plenty time.
Start writing. Put down anything - it's better than blank paper!

what an eejit, 1st and formost, tip # 1 is to have 5 or 6 pint's before you start, tip # 2, keep the speech short and sweet, tip # 3 a toast with a good stiff whiskey , tip # 3 resume pint drinking in to the wee hr's

Mountain Research Ireland professional speaker John Bell has really given some nice tips for wedding reception I also like the idea of giving small gifts to braidmaids...I really enjoyed it.I would also recommendation for Corbandy Wedding Speech Crusher {Google it}for better and best results as ours says wedding is really a big union of two families............................

Why is it all have to be male dominated. Doesn't mothers have a place in wedding speeches. I took over my husband speech at my sons wedding. Mother should be included.
Male dominated! ??? ...the whole day is built around the Bride! All the
males are just bit-part players to the women on the day.
7 minutes is way too long for someone to try to be funny! I can't quite figure out whether this was meant to be sort of tongue-in-cheek! It had the feel of somebody giving wedding speech tips in 1968 rather than 2008! Or maybe they just do it differently in Britain? But I'm sure many fathers of the bride to be will find it helpful!
