Introduce yourself. Tell the audience who you are and how you know the groom.
Thank everybody for coming, thank the people who made it possible if that's not just the bride and groom and just make sure everyone feels welcome.
Explain how you know the groom and what your relationship is to him.
Come up with the story of how you got to know the groom and/or how you learned about his bride and how it all goes together. Ideally, it should be a little funny or at least entertaining maybe with a little twist. Maybe you also have an interesting incident where you maybe asked him how did you know she was the right one, and you remember that answer. Just something that's heartfelt and touches people. Now if you want, you can thank people for coming again but more importantly, thank the couple and send them your best wishes for the future.
It's very important to have a common toast to the couple and their future.

How did it go?
I structured my speech from this video. And like many others, it worked and I got many compliments afterwards. I followed all the Do’s & Dont’s except for being sober. The few shots of tequila calmed my nerves
I'm giving the best man speech in two weeks and needless to say faking my death feels like a great idea at the moment haha. Seriously, I ain't a funny guy and my speech structure that I've practiced so far is just awful to say the least. I've got basically the same strategy that you had, few drinks before hand, not enough to knock me down to slursville but enough to calm my nerves.

I’m gonna be the best man at my brothers wedding. And I’m nervous mostly because I don’t do big speeches or heartfelt anything’s. My speech I wrote was too much here and there and it’s even more nerve wrecking because I just never seen a real wedding. .-.

@@blademaster9297 hey, sorry for the veeeerrrryyyy late reply haha, but I'm my own worse critic and thought I was horrible but apparently I did fine according the others. Truly just wish I had hindsight and remembered to breathe and know that most are going to remember the bride and groom that day. After it was over I laughed at myself for being so stressed over it.
I can honestly say I followed these rules, almost to a T and for the rest of the night, people went out of their way to tell me "good speech!" Thanks random youtube video!

It is a great one off product for learning how to give an outstanding wedding speech minus the normal expense. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my mate at last got excellent success with it.
Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else needs to find out about best man speeches toasts try Loctavan Best Man Strategy (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my friend got cool results with it.

I think casual bowties work with regular spread and medium collars. I tried to stay away from super wide collars but thats my opinion

Guys biggest tip is to keep it short. Even if you think you’re funny the worst case scenario is you try a joke it misses but it’s over in 2-3 minutes. BEST case scenario people are laughing and someone mentions they wish it was longer. Also don’t go after the bride

don'ts:
* don't tell the groom that he'll be at the beck and call of his wife forever
* don't tell the groom that he'll only be saying lines like "yes dear" forever
* don't belittle the groom
This goes for the maid of honor. The amount of time I had to sit there listening to her bad mouth the groom..I really don't ever want to go to a wedding ever again.

Please don't be mad, but I feel like that tie is not the best that you could had chosen. I don't know why, maybe is the lack of enough contrast or the lapels being too wide for that tie. Can you tell me why you chose that? You are a better dresser then me and I know the mistake is on my part.

Hey, gents, prom is soon and I'm going through a dilemma. I'm going with a very comely woman and have pretty well everything sorted out. Having no transportation, as my parents wouldn't want to drive me, I enlisted the help of a friend with a 1963 Chevrolet Biscayne. That's transportation covered. Next, although it should be a given, I didn't know if I should pull the trigger on the corsage, and I did because that's customary. Here's my dilemma. Despite the appearances of a 1963 Chevrolet and a corsage, my mother insisted on a matching boutonniere. I'm becoming anxious now because as silly as it sounds, I'm worried that that's going one step too far and I may come off as "trying too hard" which is something that I don't wish to portray. What are your thought, guys, am I merely overreacting about a boutonniere, should a Boutonniere be as customary as a corsage? I don't want to convey the wrong idea to her, nor other people. The sad thing is, this won't work for everyone. I've seen best man speeches last for 15 to 20 mins, some of them were totally hilarious but others were dragged out boredom. I suppose the core of a best man speech is to keep it short/shortish but very very funny with a hint of slight embarrassment, coz everyone wants to hear the juicy gossip.
