These guys are genuine characters who are entertaining without even trying, I just wish they were on a TV channel who are the ones losing an excellent car restoration series
You can say that again. I am happy I came across this channel
Imagine if this was on ITV
It's a cool show
Tv station should put this back on tv its very entertaining and very green keeping old cars going
I really enjoy the flipping bangers series. The presenters are watchable and show both the processes in fixing the cars and their mistakes with characteristic good humour,
The economics are bonkers and for the producers building artificial drama, but I can forgive that as long as they keep making theses series
And they never mention insurance, taxes, registration, inspection fees, wheel alignments etc.
You GT hooked then blaze never do another series
Poor John he was so cute 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺good they rescued it he loved that car
Best two comedians on RUclips 😅very difficult to make money on old classic cars.
I love this show, there's just one thing that BLOWS MY Mind, Gus is a professional photographer, so why does he often make Will take the pictures😂😂😂😂😂😂
just waiting for every episode ......what a life eh !! keep up the bangers banging lads !!!
Great stuff guys, I'm Lovin This, Keep up the good work ,,,Matt
A very entertaining and educating program that shows doing up old cars will never make you rich. The reality is they would barely be making sufficient to pay the rent on the premises yet alone a living wage. But so what it's the program makers that are paying the bills including the wages.
Thanks for posting this episode! :)
My wife had one brand new with full leather interior. Got nicked in Balham one night and just the body shell found a week later in Catford.
Love this show
Great entertainment. Thanks for this
Great video. I used to own a Mk1 Golf in yellow. Clutch cable went at a crossroads and had to push the car to the side of the road. However, a new clutch cable then cost £5 and fitting it by the road took only 5 mins. So easy to fit.
Clever guys, they even moved Newark as well.
Fun and interesting show
Shout out from south Australia 🇦🇺
Bravo pour cette très belle restauration de cette golf cabriolet magnifique plus de vidéo de restauration de véhicules automobiles bravo
This one is my favourite build of there's so far great job lads
Really enjoyed these guys on TV always good to see what they do and a golf convertible brilliant, my god that was an expensive clean I struggled to get £30 for a complete interior clean
This is great to watch but fun to put back together 👍🏿🥳😎🤠
To clean seats properly, use steam cleaner, gives spectacular results every time. 🎉🎉
Better than wheeler dealers 👍
Love watching you guys and love your videos, your fun, happy, and full of life love it ❤❤❤
In Australia VW does not have a good reputation. They do not have after sales support and the repairs are expensive. And yet in my garage is a Skoda Octavia that is 10 years old. NO rust, cars don't rust in Oz like the UK. We don't get snow and no salt on our roads. But the sun hammers the paint. But the Skoda is 100,000klm on the clock since new and I have had to do pistons, rings, bearings and head. Another great video guys. I really do enjoy watching your work, your both honest, professional and without the showy rubbish we get from some videos. I have a question. Where do you get all the sunny days? We spent 4 weeks in the UK and had to stop to photograph blue sky we saw for 30 minutes. And we have just had 30mm of rain in 2 hours. Curse of the Black Jelly Bean!
i made this mistake moving from eu to aus, yeah that aussie sun just cooks everything, and in post 2000 VWs mamma mia, all that plastic engineering just fries and cracks
Isn't Newark in Nottinghamshire ? It certainly used to be...
Norfolk I think
Mark 1 Golf convertable was the best one - the mk1 and mk2 had the best front ends of all the Golfs , I had a mk1 VW Caddy pick up it look like a Golf from the front and in the rear view mirror - i suprised a lot of people coz it was a bit faded and tatty but it was very well sort quick and handled 1.9 diesel non turbo with polo diesel gearbox - i didn't lower it just stiffend it to carry wieght ,
Good night gus and will I enjoy all of your videos of flipping bangers and watched all of your tv programmes as well did you enjoy your Christmas and a happy new year for 2024
i have only just found your post. i have only got a couple of gripes. they look like the are great blokes, but between 500 and 1500. and they need to make double. they nearly always spend moe than that. and they never make double. plus the tv company are paying them. great show though.
Gus, Newark is in Nottinghamshire. Lincolnshire is a few more miles up the road.
Another great vid, thanks for sharing. When I see the old rusty truck in the background of your vid I always see the possibility of a ´rat truck’ ie stick a V8 in it as they do with rat cars and take it to an appropriate rat car show or meet. Anyway keep ´’em coming they’re great 👍
I love your program keep the good work
Can’t help but notice that Will sounds just like Dave Murray from Iron Maiden
He sounds more like Jeremy irons
Loved it boys. Used to have a mint 16v mk2 on an E reg. hard top 2 door.
Sold it to a Japanese buyer who shipped it to Japan.
20 years ago and still regret it.
Do those roof boys do Mr2 mk3 roadster roofs?
I have the same Golf 🥳
THANK YOU
You done a good paint job 😊
Would love to see these two take on a Wolseley 6/110 Princess VandenPlas 4 R
Was the Van den Plas 4R not an Austen Princess . And had 170 bhp , more than the 6/110 . Maybe wrong .
@@alanthomson1227 as far as I know all the 110's including the Van Den Plas' were 3 litre Austin 6s. The 4 R was a 4 litre Rolls Roye 6
@@Mopar-Pioneer rolls engine but Austen body , pininfarina style . A friends father had one in sixties
Did they just spray over the top of rust?
Bargain great vid guys ..🍕🍻
"Hood" to them is the ragtop. "Hood" to us in the US is the big piece over the engine.
That's coz we speak English and you speak American. Just jokin'.
@@richardphillips6281 We also put cheese on _everything_ 🤣😂
.... Mmmm yummy!
My first car was a yellow one like this but with white top and white leather interior. Unfortunately it needed transmission work and the top needed to be completely redone. At 20 I couldn’t afford it and my step dad donated it to auction. Such a fun car tho! I want another one day
This car is called the VW Rabbit Cabriolet in the USA. The triple white ones (white paint, white hood, white interior and white wheels) were cult cars in the 1980s. I never see them on the road today, there must be very few left.
seller seemed like a real gent. good guy. how come the convertibles are worth less than normal ones?
Love these two but if that is more popular then a mk1 gti im tiger woods
what happened to the cabriolet badge? lost?
I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cringe! The car was as rotten as a 6 month old peach... as soon as I saw the blisters on the arches i knew the wings were toast. Whoever bought that is going to regret it.... assuming that someone actually bought it.
Will looks like Wolverine.😂😂😂
Willverine
Gingervine
Low budget Wolverine😂😂😂
Very entertaining :)
Only criticism is the dog awful paint finish, it looks a bit like it was put on with a sandblasting gun :)
Gus… takes a wing off.. right I’m going home
nothing even in the greggs cup at the end 😂
2024 and it's still alive ❤
I wouldn't let them spay my fence 😂
my favorite car is that golf
Poor will can't drive it but at least he get the wind in his hair 😂😂😂 sorry I couldn't resist
what is with the van and is ir kand rover in the back ground in the yard, when are you going to do them up?
Why have they only got the workshop for 5 days
Otherwise enjoyable
Shocking workmanship
Why were the neighbours at the previous workshop angry? I thought it was an industrial estate?
Probably because of the TV crew, lighting, sound etc
Newark is not in Lincolnshire its in Nottinghamshire !
The new paint looks as flat as a pancake
Yes no clear lacquer.
Once again, to save you time, as of Jan-24, this is SORN.
I mean where do you start? Their words, not mine, "don't buy one with rust or a rubbish roof"...they buy one with rust and a rubbish roof.
What happened to the Cabriolet badge! Did they weld the rotten areas at the rear, or just fill them? I have questions!
I prefer this to the later wheeler dealers
What type of paint? Not 2 pack😢?
Every seller answers the door in under 3 seconds😂😂😂
That car looks so good white with a white or red leather interior. They should have considered adding a Bluetooth head unit. Most people want updated features now. Of course that blows the budget up.
I wish they would stop listing them for sale until they are finished repairing it , at least it would make the video more real life instead of something just made up
Biggest car company in Europe is VW. I love my Polo which never lets me down.
I didn't think it was possible that there was a car show worse than goblin garage but these two have done it 😂😂😂😂
Absolutely no top coat ever in any resprays
I checked recently and found that Mk 1 Golf Cabriolet prices have risen from this popular program
“Don’t buy a car with rust, walk away”next scene buys a rotten car….
He then advertised it as rust free.
The idea of painting not in a paint booth is shocking
Lets crowd fund these two a working Toilet !!!! Take a non refundable deposit. Get on-to the next project.
So where is the clear lacquer to finish? Its as flat as hell with no shine.Missing the Karmann badges and cabriolet. No engine service too?
Jeez what a bodge job.
I like a show and guys. But two things surprised me: why they didn't paint whole car - it would be easier and faster without cuts off and why they didn't polished a last layer of a lacquer - it would look much better.
The Golf had done 180k now thats what put people off.
Why? It’s a Golf, just run in at 180k.
@@starsailor49 yeh course it has lol. You buy it then as its only just ran in!!!. Known for its timing belt tensioner and drive gear issues.
I have a one owner Mint one in Black 😅
Need to remove each corner with those bodykits front and rear then refit or impossible to tell if gone, not even bothering to check rest!
Leaving some other poor soul to discover any other rot, what point in doing top top of rear if rotten under rear arch bodykit.
so, did it sell?
Did it sell?
An entertaining show, but hard to watch! Rust in the rear never fixed and just painted over, front fenders didn’t fit, painted the car in dusty garage and no clear coat?
They missed the biggest point to the golf. It's a Karmann.
When thinking the name, what do think of first? Yes, Porsche
@@timmytimpster3807 I beg your pardon? You don't know Karmann from Osnabrück?
All in five days😢😂😊
I like the show but what’s the bullshit with only 5 days to fix the car and putting it up for sale before you know how much money you’ve invested. Take a few extra days and paint the complete car so all the colors match?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Do up a vw corrado
Yes! A corrado!!
Golfs are NOT bulletproof cars, I have owned 3 and all trouble over the years. VW reliability is a myth but parts are expensive.
I have only quickly spun through this video so apologies if I misunderstood, but as far as I can see the kids seat is fine, but for an adult in the back there’s headrest??, that’s pretty dangerous isn’t it?, the idea of the headrest being it stops your neck snapping in an accident I believe?.
No that's how it is. Just was like this back in the day. Same as no seat belts a few decades before that.
Necks are overrated.
@@yannikpanic3233 ever heard of progress Yannik ?
@@JazzFunkNobby1964 😂, right up until your neck gets damaged, then most people tend to prefer their neck in it original set up 👍
First the Two Ronnies now the Two Knuckleheads.
These two need to learn how to paint or pay someone, great show tho
I would have the paint professionally done, this is not a car to screw up with. It's to good.
Yeah now looks like a Satin finish with no clear lacquer.
It was terrible the paint, they tried not to show it. Wing didn't fit either...😂
who's the catcher and who's the pitcher?
Isn’t a mk1 covertable a carman conversion?
Karmann, yes the badge was shown on the side
Assembled by Karmann Osnabrück yes
This is the only down-to-earth car restoration show, together with Wheeler Dealers (old style with Edd China) in my opinion. The American ones are literally Netflix shows with too much overacted drama, and camera shake movements...
The ginger guy shud audition for wolverine
Made in Osnabruck
Ok
It is slightly misleading using the premise that they make it pay.
More an inspiration to DIY to get yourself into a decent car for a comparatively little cost.
Bit like how Wheeler Dealers started.
The presenters are engaging, affable and engaging, which I think is key.
