Just picked one of these up at an antique store today. Looked like it had never been fired. Tried it out today and it wouldn't cycle at first but a little WD-40 brought it back around and now it works perfectly. Very fun pistol to shoot.
After almost two years of looking for one, I just got my hands on one (a refurb) in great condition. It's an absolute joy to shoot, I like it so much I'm having an extended barrel commissioned.
Nice, I’d like to get the extended barrel too, especially threaded for a silencer. We have to be careful in the U.K as a long barrelled 600 can easily go over the legal power limit.
Arran C depends where you are, in the U.K a nice one will be £200-£300 depending on condition, box etc. They very rarely come up for sale though. Back then you needed a firearms licence to own them here so not that many made it over. Plenty for sale in the U.S do not as expensive there.
Nice, you got it when they were originally available…must have been like something from a sci fi movie. I was shooting mine just the other day. Such unique pistols and so good to shoot! Glad yours is still going strong 👍
I don’t know, you’d have to pay 20% vat and customs can be funny about gun shaped items. I still get airguns from Europe but I think the US is more problematic. They come up for sale in the U.K, but you have to keep looking and may have to wait a year or two.
@@dkjngl1 it appears to be the next best thing for handgun shooting since the ban on section 1 handguns. I’m surprised they’re not more popular in the UK

I have a Crosman 600 in a custom made wooden rocket box. It needs a valve stem as the old one doesn't seal any more. When it used to work I chrono'd it using 14.3 grain Crosman Premier pellets at 340 fps. I've had three of these pistols over the years. One used to fire full auto for about 5 shots. As you say they are very complex; and prone to hissy fits! Many thanks for a brilliant video.
My favorite air pistol too! I got one over 30 years ago. It works, sort of - the shuttle does not reset all the way to get the next pellet. Have never gotten around to find a place to rebuild/repair it. (of get the parts and DIY)
I have had some jamming problems with this one too, in the end I put a wafer thin plastic washer around the rod that goes through the shuttle, between the shuttle and breech and now it’s much more reliable. Usually as soon as I start filming it starts jamming! Such a great pistol though. Cheers
The Crosman 600 600 can’t be dated by the serial number. Crosman didn’t start adding the date into serial numbers until 1975. The model 600 had a production run of ten years from 1960-70 with three different variants being produced, which can be easily differentiated through the end caps. The first variant which is like yours utilized a traditional piercing cap assembly, these were made from 1960-64. The second variant was produced from Oct. 64 to Jan. 66, they had an internal piercing pin, with an open ring tube cap. The third variant from 66-70 utilized a push button piercing cap. The only way to figure out what year your 600 was produced would be to find out how many were produced in a year and try to make a good guesstimate.
Yes I’ve since seen other 600’s where the s.n couldn’t correspond to a date so I agree this one probably coincidentally fits in with a plausible date for this first variant. Thanks for the info
Yep, just came to comment the same thing and appreciate your extra date info. Just acquired a Model 600 I found stashed in the back of a tool box at an estate sale. It's the push button variety, with the serial number 662927. It's going to need a fair bit of restoration, but that's half the fun.
Hi, as per your other question you have to look in lots of different places for these old air pistols. Shops like Protek supplies always have some, otherwise it’s online auctions like saleroom and Holts or the various airgun forums. Even egun in Germany for some of the rarer items
I’m surprised the semi auto 600 isn’t the more popular vs the bolt action single shot 1322 & 1377. What would make this a real crowd pleaser is a variable pump version.
They still make the 2240 co2 single shot but the 600 was only made between 1960-1970 so there are fewer about. Amazing pistols, but prone to jamming etc so I think Crosman got a lot of warranty returns so they stopped making them. Pump up repeater would be good, although the 600 uses a lot of co2 for the repeating mechanism. Only get 30 shots per 12g co2 bulb. Cheers

Seems 600’s with less markings were common in Canada. As a cost saving feature they had stickers with the extra text. Maybe the sticker came off your one. Cheers, Matt
@@dkjngl1 well it was given to me , but I live in canada, I've heard that Sears also produced a version of this gun maybe its from there, I also heard neck first load co2 guns were 65/66 or 66/67 one of those two consecutive years
@@dkjngl1 Yes since laws are what they are in many places. And this can be used in the garden often. I do wish they made a PCP version on this format. There is a gap between the cheap toy like DA guns and the LP50 that needs to be filled. The Drulov pistol is not made or imported now, and the Twinmaster PCPs were discontinued by Umarex when the took over them.

I agree, and I was pleasantly surprised how accurate it is. Definitely a keeper

Mine is the type with the push button piercer at the front ;)
Nice, I believe that is a slightly later model. does it have a serial number you can see? might give you the manufacturing date.
I always wanted one as a kid! Enjoyed your video.
I bid on a boxed example recently on Egun being sold in the Netherlands. Not sure what the final bid was but it went past 500 Euros.
In the U.K. they go for £300-£350 boxed. Quite rare here though, maybe rarer on mainland Europe?
