  • Today in part 2 of the Budget W203 C55 AMG we fix the 722.6 transmission used in many early 00's Mercedes cars. Today we do the conductor plate to fix slow downshifts and cold weather performance issues, jerky 1-2 shifts will be fixed by TCC solenoid replacement, fix leaky plug with new 13 pin adapter, fluid & filter as well as replacing the common fail crankshaft position sensor and some front suspension components.

    The 722.6 is a tough trans used in several Mercedes and other products. I'll be doing the trans service on my C55 this year as soon as the weather clears. Thanks for sharing

    I love how the M113 in the C55 revs a bit higher than in the E55, sounds great!

    the MAF screen delete ;) definitely helps out with throttle response. I did this job before ever making my channel on the C55 when it was still auto.. I'll be doing it again on the ML55 sometime soon too preventatively. Nice video!

      @ANDERZÉN Good to know, I do still have screen in airbox. Didn't know if I should take that one out. Did you take the two vanes out of elbow? I dremeled mine out.

      @@BaldManMotors I aslo still have the screen in there, figured it's good to keep one to protect any big debris if they made it through although highly unlikely... I didn't dremel that one out but I have a silicone elbow and plans to install a whole different airbox setup once I get time...

    I would like the W210 E55 floor mats. I like & currently own a w210 E55. Like it for it's basic simplicity without all the current bells and whistles on the newer AMG models

    Nice video. I would prefer the amg floor mats. W211 was the fasters sedan when came out i believe in 2002 or 2003 so it's my favourite.

    Hello, great video- professional.
    I have a clk55 and would like to replace the exact parts you have. Would you mind sending me the part numbers?
    Thanks
    Dan

    Great Video! I have a W210 2000 E320 4matic with the same transmission as this C55. I've noticed the transmission has been sluggish as it has 280,000km on it, would the parts needed to fix it be exactly the same as the ones you use in this video? And if possible could you send me a link to the items you used.

      @Jeremy Torrance Thank you, Yes it would be the same as I also used it in my W210 E55. I bought this service kit off of FCP Euro www.fcpeuro.com/products/mercedes-722-6-comprehensive-transmission-service-kit
      Not sure if you have tried it yet but a normal fluid/filter service (cheaper) and resetting transmission adaptations is a good place to start as well. If you have a sluggish jerk when you first take off, more prevalent in W203 I think, then it would be the TCC/PWM solenoid www.fcpeuro.com/products/mercedes-auto-trans-control-solenoid-mer-2402701700

      @@BaldManMotors Thanks!! I had the fluids, pan and gasket serviced 17,000km ago. It has a sluggish jerk only when cold start shifting into drive, and only recently it's stalled a couple times on cold start shifts into drive. Other than that I've had no problems with the transmission in the 2 years I've had it. So presumably it's the TCC/PWM solenoid that's failing?

    Is the 722.6 the same transmission used behind the V12 cars?

    • @BaldManMotors
      @BaldManMotors  2 года назад

      @Rob Schaben Yes they are, they were in nearly all of the Mercedes back then, and some Chrysler and Dodge too. Small internal differences, solenoids and gear ratios but same main components.

    Is it true that AMG model 722.6 transmissions are built differently (stronger) than the standard Mercedes models?

    • @BaldManMotors
      @BaldManMotors  2 года назад +2

      @Guy Chin yes they are different, more friction and steel discs. Here are two direct download links I found on Benzworld for the differences and models used as well as 722.6xx number meaning. Gear ratios and discs---> www.benzworld.org/attachments/output-pdf.2624694/
      and then Trans Identification and models used ----> www.benzworld.org/attachments/transmission-list-pdf.2624695/

    I would like the $50 mailed to my home. My favorite Mercedes’ is my 04 e500 w211. I’m biased tho because it’s the only one I’ve ever driven lol.
