how does having a clogged fuel filter cause a fuel rich code? Intuitively, I think it would be a lean code because it is not sending enough fuel because the pressure is low.
my honda error code turns on and off and has been doing this since i got the car around 20-40k miles. do you think with it randomly turning on and off, its more likely a faulty sensor?
I've been REALLY racking my brain for this P0172 code. I have all new sensors since I bought a Japan engine in April 2022. I've replaced EVERYTHING for the emissions systems too. Then my 99 Honda accord started to have misfires after getting gas. I was told to check for an evap leak. That test came back good. Then was told two of the 4 fuel injectors need replacement. Found out the hard way that my mechanic was too lazy to switch out the fuel rail, and exhaust when swapping out my bad engine for the Japan engine. So I reluctantly bought fuel injectors from Ebay since they were the ONLY injectors to fix my Japan engine. After putting 30 miles on the car after the fuel injector replacement, that's when I got the P0172 code. Any suggestions? I can't keep throwing parts at this car. I've been replacing parts for 8 months. After each part is replaced, a new engine code appears.
Same dilemma here 2 years ago I had been trying E85 ethanol with my Flex Fuel kit from PRL Motoports, with correct ratio. Now i'm no longer using E85 mix just regular 98 Petrol. In Australia here, gas prices have gone up and was it possible im thinking that the mixture of fuel in the lines can cause blockage in the filter system? i've checked my other parts including the fuel injectors but not the fuel system parts under the vehicle. if that makes sense, next is to check my fuel filter
Sir my car have the same code but I already changed all that parts and still running rich I'm thinking to replace the purge valve canister do you think that can cause the code?
Great video I still have this problem tho and keep getting ripped of at the garages so tried doing this myself been almost 2 years now still with this problem everything else on the car is new car struggles to drive badicly starved it feels. It feels like it wants to go but then gets held back go stop go stop like feeling when I'm driving need help
06 civic coupe ex auto Got an ac issue ,won't get signal from sending unit checked fuse checked relay and pressure sensor still nothing brand new compressor good working turns on manually from engine bay and just filled freon and oil ,someone said could be ecu ?
Just clean your MAF sensor and replace the O2 sensors 98% of the time that’s all you need to do
Vacuum leak will not cause this code

low fuel pressure cause fuel trim to push towards lean side not rich side.

He didn't mention gasoline in the oil. When the engine gets hot, the PCV will suck up the vapors from the oil and throw a code if the oil is bad😊
Hi my car running butterly smooth after changing Fuel injector spark plug air filter but still getting P0172
i had a question. my check engine light turned on and it came up as “fuel to rich”. any ideas what can cause that??
Is it possible with this error code it could be a plugged catalytic converter that would need to be replaced?

Man this is such a good video, I could never be a mechanic. You literally have to look so hard to find the issue😭😭
Great vid man

I have replaced the map sensor. Bank 1 & 2 o2 sensors. Did a smoke check for vacuum leaks. No leaks. Looks like fuel pressure is next.
I have the same problem, I've changed the tps, aic, iat, purge valve, injectors, ive come down to a vacuum leak or my fuel pump pressure is bad.

I recently
2017 Civic Si, my OBD II is reading N/a on my MAF, does that mean it’s bad or do I just not have a strong enough scanner
