    Totally agree with your findings, bars are not comfortable for me at 6 ft, the suspension is extremely dated, and now that they are over $30K its ridiculous to not come with LED turn signals. A special is a premium model, however lacks premium features. I just traded a 17 RGS for a 22 RGS and can't believe how many things were taken away versus the few things that were added.

      Basic/outdated brakes/non-adjustable levers, halogen signals, auto locking bags require buying a 45-50k bike(still having the outdated braking system) I like my bike, but the excuse it would drastically increase the price to offer top shell, hell up to date, parts is blown out of the water looking around the industry. I don’t expect completely changing the bike, just make what’s there “better”. KTM made the 790, then turned around and put top shelf Everything(suspension, complete braking system, engine tweak.. Everything functional) and added less than 10% to the total cost of the 890R. HD does a fancy paint job, a badge to the same bike and adds 30% to the ticket. That’s the bs we’re, the actual consumers, are getting tired of from the Motor Company.

    I owned an Ultra Limited. the handlebar placement on that bike fit me well. But like most Harley owners I had to spend $$$ for a better seat, an aftermarket suspension, a taller windscreen, etc. I test rode comparable Indian models and they didn’t require any upgrades in order to be comfortable and ride well. Ditto Honda Goldwing.

    @Gaming_Biker Год назад +3

    I agree w/ your review. Have owned both ‘19 SG standard & ‘21 RGL & there are few differences that actually matter. Just between SG & RG fairings, it boils down to preferred aesthetic, if you want built in cubbies, & how many headlights you want stock or if you want day makers or not. The handling is essentially identical - anyone arguing SG handles worse than RG either hasn’t owned an SG or is beyond weak in their upper body. The wind buffeting is similar (just into your chest vs into your head based on rider height), but neither is going to provide a glass smooth experience, turbulence is just that & is unavoidable. The suspension & seat are adequate, but like you said they’re one size fits all, which sucks for the extremes of the spectrum. I’m 320lbs & am okay on stock, but hate it. 2up on stock is like riding a hard tail on the frame. I support aftermarket suspension & for heavy riders advocate for going to 13” if not higher. Makes a world of difference for both 1up & 2up. The last bit is why I personally went w/ the RGL after my SG. It had the luggage capacity I wanted, had a fairing further away from me & had 13” suspension stock, which I swapped for Legend Revo Arc w/ remote reservoirs at the same 13” height. Amazing ride now for sure, just need to dial in the front w/ matching suspension & maybe a fat tire kit. I did swap out my bars to the LA Choppers Grande Apes w/ 16” rise, since the stock bars have that “wheelbarrow” feel like you pointed out too. SG stock bars sucked too. Too low & angled oddly, but I did do an 8hr round trip in a single day on stock seat, stock bars, & stock suspension on my SG, so it is doable. Just maybe make sure to preload 800mg ibuprofen before the ride. It was rough.

    I've owned both the RG and SG (which I currently have) and there is some difference between the two. For me, its the perception of speed. The RG felt like it was going slower because of the fairing and the SG feels more normal. And as stated, its just an opinion that's subjective.

    Great, honest review, subbed. I just bought a 23 Road Glide Limited, it's my first Road Glide. Colour choice was a hard one, I went with the billiard blue, the gold does look great in the sun. I am 6'4 so I figured the stock bars will be the first to go, I like my arms a little more straight and shoulder height than the stock will allow. I agree that H-D dropped the ball by not using full led's around the bike. I like the look of the shark nose fairing and the little storage spaces. I will likely be upgrading the rear suspension, I am interested to see if H-D follows what Indian did with the rear electronic controlled suspension on their Challenger for the next gen Road Glide.

    I am 6’3 I have had both and a RK around town the road king is my favorite on the Highway the SG is my favorite the wind thing to me is something that gets repeated over and over but is a non issue. I sold the SG for the RG then sold that and looking to go back to a SG I think. The biggest benefit to a RG to me is it’s far easier to change out the bars and better platform to build a performance bagger but that’s it. I think the SG fairing looks better also.

However, at highway speeds I got some wicked head buffeting on the Street Glide. Even tried a taller windshield and it helped a little, but not close to the breezy feeling I got on the Road Glide. Was very disappointed. What’s interesting is that I’ve talked with shorter riders and they have the exact opposite impressions. Being on motorcycles for the last 45 years plus, I can honestly say that the rear suspension is easily the worst I've ever ridden. Every bump is transferred to my spine. The handlebars are bent back way to far. At 6'2" I have numbness in my hands, wrists and arms on long rides. The rest of the bike is great though.

    Agree with the bars for sure But you def do not have apple car play as you say As for the 1 fob thing thats your dealer My 2023 came with 2 and also the battery tender My sons didnt come with 2 or the battery tender from a different dealer So we asked and were told its dealers choice

    • @throttleblip9854
      @throttleblip9854  Год назад

      Comes off the truck with 1 fob and 2 keys. Your dealer must have just done you a solid and provided you a spare. Apple Car play is only a $30 fit but you're right it's not standard equipment. All of our bikes come from the factory with a tender sometimes they just aren't hanging out.

    So what would you say are the fundamental differences between the street glide in the road glide ? Or is it all just personal preference in your opinion?

    They shouldn’t come with led turn signals why pay more for all that extra stuff that your going to put on, because everyone puts on what they want. It’s crazy to think that we will have to pay much more for all the extras we don’t want, Harley keep doing what your doing. We as consumers will buy are after market items that we want to purchase. The bikes are amazing, again you don’t need to change anything.

    I love the Harley Davidson culture. However this is a business. Let’s face it, all of us complaining are all of us that are customers! Why? Because we are loyal to the brand and the culture we grew comfortable with. Look a Jeep is a Jeep until we lift it , put bigger wheels and tires on it , add a few other personal touches and then suddenly you live your jeep. The same goes for Harley Davidson in my humble opinion.
    If any manufacturer of motorcycles came out with the perfect bike what would you then do? Nothing? Just ride the same clone the other person is riding? I think not! Harley Davidson owners are usually a more outgoing type individual. They are very creative, imaginative, outgoing people. We enjoy making each of our bikes a reflection of what burns inside us. Let’s face it, a little piece of our personality shows on every bit of our chromed out, powder coated. custom painted war horse! There isn’t a weekend that goes by where we don’t get another thought of what we might do to our rides or we might make our next destination! I know I am just thankful I can afford to be riding one of the most widely recognized motorcycles in the world !!! In fact I think we all should!
    Happy and safe riding brother and sisters!!!

    HARLEY RIDERS PAST & NOW!!
    I've got a brand new Harley
    And a tank full of gas.
    A beautiful woman behind me
    And we're not driving fast.
    We're pulling a trailer
    With a tent packed inside.
    For camping beneath the stars
    Just me and my bride.
    Come morning we’ll go fishing
    Below the damn of Table Rock
    Where the big trout all hide
    From those anglers who talk.
    We’ll bait our hooks with salmon eggs
    And catch a pan or two.
    Strike a fire and cook a meal
    And fear not the morrow’s new
    We left our cars at home
    Cause we chose to go two wheeling.
    As we cling to our best on wheels
    It gives us a special feeling!
