Yeah. The drums are just as sweet as the final version. They HAVE to be. No drinking for Johnny. He was too busy laying the perfect groove. Perfect groove. He was so goddamned good. A jazzer playing rock. On a 4-pc kit. This is what it sounds like, gents.
Robcatist later on, starting with their fourth album, he decided he wanted the specific writer to be cited. I think this was because on "Tell All The People", Robby wrote " grab your guns" (or something along those lines) and Jim did not want people to think that he was the one suggesting gun violence. Although, my own guess is that he didn't want some songs that Robby wrote attributed to him because he didn't like the lyrics or message or something. Personally, some of Robby's work is my most enjoyed Doors music.
I love the doors almost15 years great song thank you they was the best group in 70s everybody ask me if I like the Beatles I always say no for meister boring the doors is the only one love you jim😍😍😘😘😘😘😘
I was born in 70...gotta say it's been a mixed bag.. i would'nt want to be older but bound to be i guess... and sure as hell i don't envy kids born any time after the 80's.. lifes like a gigantic mountain.. you walk up in the womb.. wake at the top...all downhill from here folks..lol.⛷.. So Ride it well.. try to remember.. to forget the tramatic shit you passed through.. im still learning this.🌪
lOVE IT! Just goes to show there are a milliion ways you can perform a song. After hearing the same version played for decades, it was really refreshing to hear a fresh take on it.
I was just 3 years old when Jim left the world , but as long as I can remember I've been listening to and enjoy the music of the DOORS all my life ..brilliance in music 💜✨🙏🏽🕊👽⚡️
Surprise Surprise surprise....Jim Morrison is still alive today! He has been in the witness protection for the past 50 years. This is all because of the elites and llumunatis and their santan rituals sacrificing children to satan.
Always nice to hear a new, exciting, alternative version of their stuff, even if it didn't make the cut. Very refreshing. Please share anything else you have!
That's the thing about misfits 1977, 78, 79 recordings. There's more than a half dozen takes of each track. Then you get to choose which is your version. Same with nirvana and nevermind, in utero, and even unplugged. Unplugged had the whole rehearsals that were alternate to the actual performance. But nevermind had the butch vig ones, the Devonshire ones and others. .
I was lucky enough to see the Doors a few times. Sometimes good, and sometimes Jim was drunk, mean and awful. Wonderful track and video - thanks for doing this, "Bob Berry."
An alcoholic boy that stud innocent, that has no idea of what he is doing with it, and that is overwhelmed by what he is. A boy whose head you want to cradle on your lap, and to comfort, saying that everything is going to be fine, whose nightmare you want to chase.
Yes! As a kid, caught the AM interview, said he was going to Paris in a couple wks & Pam would go in 1-2 months. Sounded down to earth, personable, smart, mature (than me)
Rudd caris, I know what u mean about people talking about jim like an old friend that's the sort of man he was. Every bloke has had a drink with him and every women that met him as had a kid with him that's the mystic of Mr Lizard King 😊🦎👑
I feel like I know him personally!!! That's because they're music reached a meant something....And that's exactly why he's a Genius!! These days people don't remember last years hit song!!! It's full of hate, drama mixed with whatever is no good!!! But Jimmy and the Doors are my Next Door Neighbors 🚪 FOREVER!!
... my daughter went to Paris 2013 to hone her piano skills ... visited Jim's grave & said she was overcome ... most unusual for a 21 year old ... his legacy is brilliant and eternal ... God Bless him !!!
I remember the doors when they were on Ed Sullivan and I remember them all the way in 1971 when Mr Morrison passed away there has never been a group like them for college students they made it so well ❤️🩹 and there'll never be another Jim Morrison
LOOOVe this take...Anything by the Doors at this point, beyond what we've heard already, is awesome..Thank you all and keep digging........ more gems to be unearthed ??? Rip JM, gbt Doors, their families and their loyal fans....

Always loved these alternate takes. They have those jam out moments at the end always and in that they shared with us the moment. They took us a little further into the connection of meditation, music and human ecstasy
its the story of my life ,, love it,,,,,,,,the first... ROCK BAND I WAS EVER IN WAS A DOORS COVER BAND... and it was the greatest thing I have ever done....thanks for the post....
Amazing performance! The essence of psychedelic art. No emotions, no heart, no soul... just haunting beat and drive. Absolutely inhuman and deviating but strangely attractive mode of life.
There is no such thing as music made today.... thank god i grew up in the 60s and 70s. Even if I didn't i would still be listening to the music of that time
LOVE LOVE LOVE the doors. Jim? What a waste. But who would want to see or listen to an old Jim Morrison? He's young forever and that's the way I think he needs to be seen and remembered.
Great bass playing and sound by Jerry Scheff who was also Elvis's bass player from about this time until he died, also great lead playing by Marc Benno. This version blows away the version put out as the single, much looser and relaxed.
I like the Deluxe La Woman cd with the extra cd that has all the alternate takes like this one! It feels like being in the studio when they’re still working out the arrangements. What a Great last Album! Fantastic!
Fantastic! Cheers, the sound to the birth of an awesome song! Love her Madly!!!!! I notice how different this sounds with 'Do you love her madly' compared to 'Don't you love her madly'. Morrison, I salute you :)
After 50 years, the only 2 numbers I remember from the early 70s was that “Love Her Madly” was VO on the jute box at Elsies bar and my draft number was 064.
Beautiful photographs too. I wish I could get that one of Pamela looking in the mirror while Jim is in the background - taken by Edmund Teske in 1969. You can see some details of Jim and Pam's Norton Ave apartment in that one.
I'm glad they changed the lyrics from "do ya?" to "don't ya?". Adds more feeling to the song.
I feel the same
Two letters & an apostrophe ffs
1:02
Seems more natural.
Did you hear the slip?
These alternate versions are sublime. What a treat to listen to them.
@steppinout67 - Isn't it though? So love youtube to revisit some of the best memories of my young life!
What's nice is the implication that there are more versions. This one says at the start "number 8". Ditto with releases on any of the other albums.
beyond bloody brilliant !!!
Yes!! It’s like hearing a new song it’s freaking awesome
Yeah. The drums are just as sweet as the final version. They HAVE to be. No drinking for Johnny. He was too busy laying the perfect groove. Perfect groove. He was so goddamned good. A jazzer playing rock. On a 4-pc kit. This is what it sounds like, gents.
Jim’s voice is like honey fire, beautiful and it can also slap you in the face with power.
Wow! Well said, powerfully put! Thank you!
Love the metaphore!!! So true!
Yup, that's pretty damn accurate
absolutely frightening but brilliantly true !!!
With a scream that sounded like it came from the other side of the universe.
"Don't you love her as she's walking out the door". Just brilliant, absolutely brilliant and timeless.
zero tolerance I loved your comment ! Jim was a poet and his lyrics are images, emotions and taste of real life and soul at the same time...
Robbie wrote this one
Yes Robbie wrote this. Although they credited all wiring to "the Doors" Jim DID NOT write this one.
Pete T That was the great thing about Morrison he had no qualms singing Robbie’s songs other singer/songwriters their ego wouldn’t of let them.
I dedicate this great Doors song to my beautiful daughter, Julie. Yes, I love her madly!
my Daughter too (see above) ... well said !!!
I love the raw sound of this recording. Just the essentials. What a great group.
I love the doors almost15 years great song thank you they was the best group in 70s everybody ask me if I like the Beatles I always say no for meister boring the doors is the only one love you jim😍😍😘😘😘😘😘
beyond bloody brilliant !!!
Still alive and well listening to this classic in September 2019.....who else loves her madly?
Still tapping into the doors since the early 90s 👍🙂
Las puertas que aun abren dimensiones en el 2019!!!

False. You are twenty years old
back in the 60s sailing my sloop under a full moon this full volume, Doors couldn't be beat! Now an old man and I hear this and SMILE!
AMEN, brother! Riding in my 1967 Shelby GT350 with my after-market 8 track.........those were the days!
I smile back
A bit younger here, but smiling wide
This music makes my heart happy. Today's music can't compare. The Doors forever.
watch for my new movie coming out, "The Brothers Statue II: heading south"
The DOORS. Best band in the world.
they sure are!
U're totally right lml
That’s right
Beatles is
C'mon guys, please! Pink Floyd, Beatles... they are good but, The Doors put them both on the corner.
lOVE IT! Just goes to show there are a milliion ways you can perform a song. After hearing the same version played for decades, it was really refreshing to hear a fresh take on it.
Fantastically put. Perfect!👍
Hell yes.
I’ve listened to that song 1000 times. Awesome. Just brought a huge smile to my face.
OMFG! Love the piano in this...RIP Jim and Ray...you are missed!
I was minus 3 but he’s been with me since I was 16.. he’s a pure legend
Que grupazo !! Nací en el 58 los escuché en los 69 y en los 70 s y aún me deleita esta música en el 2019 😃👍
En el 69 vinieron a México, una lástima que hace años partió el rey Lagarto.
Makes me almost cry at times, it's all so needed now in our times.. Natural blues with plenty of soul.. Yeahhhhh!!!.
buster norris alot of things need change in our times unfortunately
@buster norris - I have exactly the same feelings about Jim! Just a terrible, aching sense of loss of a brilliant man.
Do it Robby do it. Love the guitar solo
Great. Now I'm buzzed and want to fall asleep on my porch listening to this and the rain.
What lyrics!what a vocalist!there will never be another one like him!
Morrison's essence is transcendental, until the music gone, he and The Doors will live forever.
Love this version madly! One of the Doors' best songs, extended mix and great photos, excellent video.
Always nice to hear a new, exciting, alternative version of their stuff, even if it didn't make the cut. Very refreshing. Please share anything else you have!

What a sight, no matter.
I remember when Jim looked old to me....now I'm looking at a boy I want to hug.
An alcoholic boy that stud innocent, that has no idea of what he is doing with it, and that is overwhelmed by what he is. A boy whose head you want to cradle on your lap, and to comfort, saying that everything is going to be fine, whose nightmare you want to chase.
i think the fame is just as guilty of killing him...just like the other 27's.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the doors. Jim? What a waste. But who would want to see or listen to an old Jim Morrison? He's young forever and that's the way I think he needs to be seen and remembered.
Don't mind seeing and hearing an old Robert Plant, just wish he were with a better group, a Zeppelin reunion.
