Thank you man. Seriously. I see so many vids with the exact same & simple spectrum, but whenever I search for a tutorial on it, all I get are wavy ones. Thank you
man, the last time i tried a flat top visualizer, i had to manually copy/paste the spectrum 5 times wish i knew minimax was a thing LOL! thanks for the tutorial! i'll never have to flood my CPU again 😭💖😂
Great video tutorial. But my after effects is something wrong .. No audio and I put the duration of song and the song is only 1 second and when I render it is 1 second video without sound ... How I can fix it ?
Wonderful video! May I ask if it's possible to render only the logo with audio spectrum in a transparent way? I'd like to later add the background video or picture with premiere.
this is one of the best tutorials i have seen so far, much thanks. i have a question, i noticed that when i render my effect it takes a lot of mb from the hard drive, is there any way to render an effect and save space or is that un-avoidable? your the first expert ive asked this so any help would be welcome. thanks again for the cool tutorial.
If you're looking for better file compression I'd say to use another format or just lower the bitrate. Not really sure what else you could do because normally videos with effects should be under 1gb unless they're long videos or have a high bitrate hq audio
okay i understand, i think i have to play around with different formats to see which ones have a lower compression ratio, will definitely look into lowering the bitrate, that might solve it right there, much thanks..
Let me know if there are any other questions you have or if you found the right format. But yeah like I said the main ones that affect the size are video bitrate, frames per second (fps) and the audio bitrate
This is so far the best tutorial on how to create audio spectrums on Adobe After Effects. I have one little baffling question though, why did you have to create a "New solid" for the audio spectrum or what are the solids for in general?
VerticDesigns thanks a lot for explaining. I tried Adobe After Effects for the first time last night following your exact directions in the video but each time I render it and try to play, the video freezes. I tried the same thing 6 times over and every time I try to view the final works, it freezes.
Really useful, thank you. Stil,, im wondering why you limited the frequency spectrum from 36 to 130. was it a matter of taste? its not being triggered by the voice or cymbals, just the kick and the bass. which is cool tho, makes it simpler. just would like to know.
I went with the flow, what looked appealing to my eyes and what looked visually pleasing with the song but the best part is these settings can easily be customized so people can make it their style
i tried this. but something weird happens. my song length is 1:42:16 but in the 1:30 above, the audio wave just gone/ missing until the end of the song. so in the last 12 seconds before the song ends, there is no audio spectrum. do you know why?
Great video, I do have one question! I have a client that wants to post his podcasts on YT and he wants to add the audio waveform to a thumbnail i create. These podcasts are normally around 1hr long. When rendering the video ends up coming out nearly 200Gb, am I doing something wrong?
Absolutely not you, it's normal for something like that to become a huge file. At that point you'll need to either reduce the resolution, frame rate or simply lower the bitrate. Best format I'd recommend is HEVC H.265 because that's the newer format and thats more efficient in maintaining quality but also compressing the video well. So I'd just say to use 720p or 1080p nothing above because it's wasted quality, use 30fps and 8 - 10 mbps VBR bitrate and the very last thing you can do is lowering the audio bitrate but just be careful not to lower it too much, make sure it's still a crisp and clear sound and of course just talk to the client asking if they are ok with it
Save your project 》open premiere pro 》look for your saved After Effects project 》drag and drop it into the project files folder in premiere then drag the newly created file into your timeline

Is there a way to make a waveform transparent so it can be put into premiere on it's own?
Sure, export as RGB + Alpha and you'll get a transparent background

VERY HELPFULL TUTORIAL KEEP DOING VIDEOS MATE!
Thanks for your great tutorial!
could you also tell us your rendering template ? that video was very low size for that good quality
Thanks a lot, it's really helpful
Thank you very much!
awesome tutorial! any guidance on how to render as small as possible? I have audio and a static background and the file is huge - cheers!
Use lower resolution like 1280 x 720, 30fps and set the bitrate to 10 mbps and lower the audio bitrate as well
Vertic Design, thanks a lot for the tutorial 😇
It's all good 😁
Thanks, very helpful
Wonderful video! May I ask if it's possible to render only the logo with audio spectrum in a transparent way? I'd like to later add the background video or picture with premiere.
If you use the animation format that one will support transparency but other will add a bg
@@VerticDesigns thank you for the great response! I can see that there are quite a few of option for animation exporting. May I know your preference?
Probably QuickTime, so select that then in format options, select animation
awesome thanks!!!!
It works! Thanks a lot
It's great to have Photoshop and after effects, it would be even better remember these things after you spend the time to do them.
Yeh I get you and it just takes a few times to fully remember it. Takes me a few times and tries for it to fully sink in haha

This is so far the best tutorial on how to create audio spectrums on Adobe After Effects. I have one little baffling question though, why did you have to create a "New solid" for the audio spectrum or what are the solids for in general?
A solid is like a coloured layer the audio spectrum effect needs a solid to be viewable

thanks for video but how to save it ??
Can I do this for a 1 hour DJ mix instead of one song? Thank you for this!
Yes, you can but just a heads up the render time can take from 1 - 3 hours depending on your system, how many effects and your render settings
thanks a lot dude

hello, may i know if one spectrum can be used for multiple songs?
Yes, you'd just need to change the layer the effect is linked to in the effect options
