Find it incredible that some people find Halep boring. While I acknowledge she lacks a bit of variety, when she plays offensive tennis and is fully fit, she's amazing to watch. Nobody in the women's game has better balance.
I had barely heard of Halep before this tournament, and as I watched this match at home in the air conditioned comfort of my recliner (it was close to 40 degrees) I quickly became a fan...what a warrior!!

Simo finally seemed ran out of gas after going up the break at 4-3 in the final set. She couldn't summon one more final push to get her over the finish line.
Halep being a little tired already stood no chance in the third set against Wozniacki. I mean, Caroline looked like she could’ve played at least another set. When you’re playing someone like Wozniacki, who has physique like no one else, there just isn’t much to do
This was the second advantage set match Halep played at this slam, and there weren't any calls to change the ending, because these types of matches were rare (unless it's Isner or Karlovic). And when these types of matches did happen, they were pretty special and pretty memorable.

Simona looked dead throughout the entire final. She was nowhere near her top level, like she was in the SF. It was guts and determination that got her to win the second set and to be within two games of the title in the final set.
