- A "very young girl" was among those shot dead by a gunman who killed four other people in Plymouth before shooting himself, police have said.
Describing last night's events as "particularly traumatic", the Chief Constable reveals a timeline of how the attack unfurled.

Mental health is so important, for this guy to feel he needed to do this is horrific. I feel for the poor families of all parties concerned.
My condolences to the family and the people in the town, I appreciate for families to ask for help when a member has mental illness, we shall stop the stigma and come forward for help in order to prevent. There is nothing wrong by coming forward even if it feels painful that the family member could feel judge by doing so. Is not a judgement, its a help support, males feel more alone in order to ask for help. Also the law system and judge can determine for a person to assist psychiatric by law.

Mental Health is a very real issue and it's on the rise. 'The difference between sanity and insanity, is two half's of the same coin' - not the spectrum of space, between the poles, as many believe...
In recent years, there has clearly been progress made. However, as a society we need to do more and try to reach out to all of those who need help.
I have witnessed many with mental health, all ages and different walks of life.
I have first hand experience with many of our youth who are suffering symptoms of severe anxiety, FOMO and depression, especially given the last 18 months and the rising unemployment between 16-24 year olds, leading to poorer health, which in turn leads to poor decision making etc... a perfect storm is brewing, which fundamentalists may try to exploit.
For me, this is a 'simmering timebomb' - we need to act fast as a society to prevent these issues from manifesting any further, so to help safeguard our youth, the vulnerable as well as our extended communities, which shall further protect and promote social well being for all.
Moreover, the government needs to give extra money for resources to further support #mentalhealth which will really make an impact and help implement extra measures...

If a loved one has a firearm, are parents or family members told that loveone's has a firearm, this way if the mental health falls parents can contact the authorities, to remove the firearm
When getting a firearm license the authorities normallycontact your friends and neighbours to see what your like as a person and anything they should be aware of

Even if the government ploughed 100's of millions into mental health, it might not catch people like this. Society as a whole stigmatises mental health, and most men are still not brought up to be able to discuss their mental and emotional state with others and see it as a sign of weakness or un-manliness.
