“No reason to go off stage” Do you know how easy it is to get kills with run off bnair? I’ve gimped so many people with ram ram, gotten KOs with megawatt, and smack people away from recovery range with dragon so many time because they don’t expect a Min Min to go off stage it’s great.
Here's my hot take rn: Vault Boy will literally always win if he has 3332 against Min Min. Bomb Drop and Grenade Launch have a arced trajectory, so it goes over her arms and also stops her from ever trying to F-Smash on centerstage, allowing you to always take back stage control. Her recovery is easily gimped with this moveset, as with all Tether recoveries. Either aim for the ledge with Grenades and Bombs, or wind up the Dair if you're good enough to time it (It's pretty fricken slow). He'll might be hit once with Chakram offstage, but never more, since mixing up your recovery with an good aimed Arm Rocket will typically allow you back to stage without fear. Super Missile also pretty good against Min Mins that try to go for the air, since as soon as it goes under the Arm's hitbox, it just knocks them off. It's never been a better time to get Vault Boy as your highest Elite Smash Character than now.

Well to be fair they read inputs...i don't get why everyone says it's embarrassing to lose to a Lvl 9 CPU, they can be brilliant! And, again, they read inputs, so they can react in ways that would usually require hard reads of a human player to do so confidently. Then again, they aren't unbeatable and they don't know character techs like a normal player would... :V
One thing that throws me off about her aerials and is the way the Smash aerials hover a bit. Throws me off every time. Good video. I'm glad you can change gloves/hands in the air too. I think she'll be difficult to get good with. Getting spikes off stage does feel good, but it's SO risky. You can use her on stage Up B and Jump and then DAir, and Up B back to stage, or Up B on stage DAir, Jump and Up B back, but DAir only spikes in initial hit box so unless your opponent is way up in the wait, no spikes :-( And she doesn't seem to have any kind of good set up for it.

She doesn't actually! I looked through the moves list, and the only specials she has are Punch (yes, that's actually the name of it), ARMS Jump and ARMS Change. Also, in her move list, Punch is performed with either A or B, so the game seems to technically count her A attacks as special attacks in a way. That's kinda cool imo.
DaFlashlight, that makes sense but I wouldn't use magic burst as a comparison. Also I main Min Min. I like her personality and everything. I like her playstyle. I think I'm going to redownload ARMS and actually play it. I'm going to obviously pick Min Min.
I try staying up close against Min Min as Ganon. If you keep up pressure with your ariels, she can’t as much at close range. But if she’s edge guarding you... yeah you’re probably screwed.
I've played both as Ganondorf against Min Min and vice versa since I posted this, and I see that theres advantages and disadvantages each way. What I really want to say though, is that It's a very fun matchup lol 😂
Another cool thing about her is the Up Smash reflecting works in ANY DIRECTION. It also extends ABOVE her... Samus shoots charge shot over your head? Up Smash and reflect it anyway lol. Mario shoots a fireball at your back, time is right and you reflect it back to him too! It's a pretty awesome tool. idk if it was intentional, but I like it.
“This is what ARMS should’ve been” I can see an argument being made for an ARMS game like this. Switching to different arms on the fly on a 2D plane like a classic fighting game. I dig it
People have probably already said this, but Min Min's Up Smash reflects projectiles, not her Up Tilt. I would recommend editing an annotation or something in the video, just to clear that little mistake up. Otherwise...this was really helpful! I think Min Min is going to be the first DLC that I will actually Main. Hero was the only other one that I played a lot, but I never really wanted to Main him. I like Min Min, though.
I main the hero and actually, he's one of my favourite character, when ultimate came out, I used a lot the inkling, and my first main was Pikachu, but even if I main the hero, I still think that I'm better with other characters, but I honestly prefer to use him because I'm a big fan of Dragon Quest ! I will try Min Min but but even if she seems to be a good character, and actually have a really unique fighting style, I don't think that she will be my main one day.
Everyone: "you can just spam with Min Min." Me: "wait, i thought you can just spam with anyone in this game and have it work. Spamming is kinda universal."
Use Byleth. I only ever started using her because I wanted to learn her moveset. It's spammy, but the trick arrows work. (It's the stages with platforms, that help them do their magical combos)
She's actually pretty easy to master. One thing I quickly noticed is, nobody expects a min min to come chasing you. Like, everyone expects you to zone, but then here I am constants spamming with down tilt and nuetral, which at low percents is a true combo, and if your opponent di's down, which a lot of people tend to do, you can repeat the combo and gets them up to like 46% right off the bat that way. Nuetral is also a great get off me tool, just because of the insane knock back and how long it lasts, being able to catch rolls behind you. And although it's not necessary, the neutral airs are pretty good for edge guarding, especially when your opponents is going too low for your on stage arm to hit. One thing to note though, ram ram and dragon have a horizontal knock back, while the mega what will send them vertically. If going low with the wat, it actually wont kill until really high percent. If recovering high, megawat will kill almost every time. Also, I quickly took on this set up where I use ramram at low percents, duel dragons at mid, and megawat at high to get kills.
I honestly really like Min Min. Her range is amazing, but I'll definitely need to practice more to get used to her. Since even though I like to play close up, I'm definitely patient enough to fight at a distance. Although, I'll definitely need to keep looking for better ways to approach since she doesn't have much coverage other than the target's that are right in front of her. Min min really clicked for me. Going offstage for kills past 140 with megawatt Nair works more often than it should. I killed a Lucina twice off of a single backthrow at the ledge. Backthrow-angled upwards fsmash-laser attack is a combo that works if your opponent doesn't react in time.
Which I have a huge problem with but thankfully as a Dedede Main I think my recovery can avoid her edge guarding since I can just fly up to the edge through super armor
As a fighting game player who absolutely loves playing Terry and Ryu I really like her. I think this character has lots of promise for people who put in the time to master her just like the shotos and Terry
Some stuff i found while faffing about with a friend. Pressing grab after back arm or b tilts and b smashes results in easier followup front arm tilts and smashes, pretty handy if you dont wanna change your control scheme. Her shield pressure can be pretty annoying if you do a 1-2 tilt, jump away to avoid punish and repeat. You can b tilt out of dash. Idk if b smash is possible but i doubt it.
Most people didn’t expect me to get close, close combat mostly disabled the other min mins and that’s how I made it deep into elite smash territory, shes mostly long range but she can get close too sometimes :)
Choctopus is the probably like only nintendo/smash related content creator that doesn’t make me feel bad about liking ARMS or playing Min Min. He lets people enjoy things and respects others’ opinions pretty well instead of the whole “I don’t like this and so should you” shtick some of them come off as with their videos. Edit: Recently found Coney and found out he’s a huge ARMS fan, so there’s another.
Couple things you didn't cover - her grounded up-B is surprisingly good for repositioning, it's pretty fast. Also her grab briefly buffs the dragon arm after a throw - I wonder if there are going to be any good throw -> buffed dragon arm combos?
9:30 .. Yeah, she just doubleshot the dragon heads. Was kinda wondering if that would work, and it apparently does work, even though you dodged it. Hearing the breath just *thump-thump* sounds good.
I saw a min min getting bullied offstage by Pikachu and Ness, then she tethered to the stage. Pikachu and Ness come down to bully her, when they get down there she just yeets back to stage. The Pikachu and Ness died and we won the game.
i believe that this character may be the only character that benefits from tilt special, as you have 3 different options for retreating/advancing with down, as well as you can you can down with the stick if you are not in hitlag
6:31 Min Min's controls are so initially bizarre that all the veteran Smash players have to actually invent new lingo to describe her move set. Now we have B-Nairs and B-Smashes along with simultaneous Smash Fair/B-Bair combos.
I was salty from playing quickplay and then I saw the notification, thx🙃 Also, FTilt doesn't reflect projectiles, UpSmash does😉 And you can do DTilt into UpSmash is a combo too
Once I got used to her she's very fun to play, going offstage is common because 99% of the roster is close combat, so always try to hit the enemy with a megawatt to get distance, or jump and punch
The problem for me with min min is if you are shielding and she has megawatt out, and ur kinds stuck there otherwise ur gonna get killed by megawatt, what will happen is the megawatt will almost break your shield and then they will always follow up with the dragon, which is a dilemma because either you get your shield broken, or you get hit with the dragon. It makes it a really good kill move because the player shielding is screwed no matter what they do.
Pros: Lots of High Damage Outputs, Lots of Range, Easy Gimps, Dragon Laser, Megawatt, Huge Grab Range, Can Kill Early, Reflector on Up-Smash Cons: Ivysaur Tether, Ramram kinda sucks unless you are gimping (But you might as well use dragon as the laser goes further), her up-tilt and up smash are decent but have way too much end-lag, Grabs have too much end lag, very lightweight and dies early Overall, for first impressions, I think she is not going to be fantastic, but she definitely will not be low tier. Probably perfectly mid-tier, maybe low mid-tier. She cannot handle rush-down characters but she can out zone many zoners and gimp many people with bad recoveries.
Reflectors don't care what "type" of projectile hits it. Energy or physical it will reflect it. Only really comes into play with Ness down B or G&W bucket.
7:08, in my opinion Magic Burst at peak position (the position where it hits below ledge but cannot be get up attacked) is better as it kills of the side and covers all options, but then again, you have to be lucky enough to get Magic Burst at ledge, so I’d say Min Min has the second best ledge guard.
Yesterday (Day 2 Min Min), I opened up an arena. Most of us used Min Min, and eventually we 2v2'ed. We learned that Ramen + Ramen and Ramen + Hero are really good teams when it comes to having no brain cells, which most of us have.

I will try Min Min but but even if she seems to be a good character, and actually have a really unique fighting style, I don't think that she will be my main one day.
I’ve actually found quite a few offstage kills with megawatt nair
Everyone: "you can just spam with Min Min."
Me: "wait, i thought you can just spam with anyone in this game and have it work. Spamming is kinda universal."
The way I see it is that it will take even less effort to spam with her
I'm calling it right now: in 2 weeks everyone will say that they hate fighting Min Min.
Use Byleth. I only ever started using her because I wanted to learn her moveset. It's spammy, but the trick arrows work.
(It's the stages with platforms, that help them do their magical combos)

She's actually pretty easy to master. One thing I quickly noticed is, nobody expects a min min to come chasing you. Like, everyone expects you to zone, but then here I am constants spamming with down tilt and nuetral, which at low percents is a true combo, and if your opponent di's down, which a lot of people tend to do, you can repeat the combo and gets them up to like 46% right off the bat that way. Nuetral is also a great get off me tool, just because of the insane knock back and how long it lasts, being able to catch rolls behind you.
And although it's not necessary, the neutral airs are pretty good for edge guarding, especially when your opponents is going too low for your on stage arm to hit. One thing to note though, ram ram and dragon have a horizontal knock back, while the mega what will send them vertically. If going low with the wat, it actually wont kill until really high percent. If recovering high, megawat will kill almost every time.
Also, I quickly took on this set up where I use ramram at low percents, duel dragons at mid, and megawat at high to get kills.

I honestly really like Min Min. Her range is amazing, but I'll definitely need to practice more to get used to her. Since even though I like to play close up, I'm definitely patient enough to fight at a distance. Although, I'll definitely need to keep looking for better ways to approach since she doesn't have much coverage other than the target's that are right in front of her.

Min min really clicked for me. Going offstage for kills past 140 with megawatt Nair works more often than it should.
I killed a Lucina twice off of a single backthrow at the ledge. Backthrow-angled upwards fsmash-laser attack is a combo that works if your opponent doesn't react in time.
I absolutely love playing as Min Min, a rlly fun character to play with. But my god she is going to b a living nightmare for heavies
Which I have a huge problem with but thankfully as a Dedede Main I think my recovery can avoid her edge guarding since I can just fly up to the edge through super armor

Some stuff i found while faffing about with a friend.
Pressing grab after back arm or b tilts and b smashes results in easier followup front arm tilts and smashes, pretty handy if you dont wanna change your control scheme.
Her shield pressure can be pretty annoying if you do a 1-2 tilt, jump away to avoid punish and repeat.
You can b tilt out of dash. Idk if b smash is possible but i doubt it.

Most people didn’t expect me to get close, close combat mostly disabled the other min mins and that’s how I made it deep into elite smash territory, shes mostly long range but she can get close too sometimes :)
She can get nasty with those kicks and people don't see em coming
You can also change her arms midair as well which I think is gonna help her in the long run

Choctopus is the probably like only nintendo/smash related content creator that doesn’t make me feel bad about liking ARMS or playing Min Min. He lets people enjoy things and respects others’ opinions pretty well instead of the whole “I don’t like this and so should you” shtick some of them come off as with their videos.
Edit: Recently found Coney and found out he’s a huge ARMS fan, so there’s another.
You can edgeguard with dair if you do charged grounded up-b > dair > jump > up-b (sorta like bayo and GnW do)

Couple things you didn't cover - her grounded up-B is surprisingly good for repositioning, it's pretty fast. Also her grab briefly buffs the dragon arm after a throw - I wonder if there are going to be any good throw -> buffed dragon arm combos?

I saw a min min getting bullied offstage by Pikachu and Ness, then she tethered to the stage. Pikachu and Ness come down to bully her, when they get down there she just yeets back to stage. The Pikachu and Ness died and we won the game.

i believe that this character may be the only character that benefits from tilt special, as you have 3 different options for retreating/advancing with down, as well as you can you can down with the stick if you are not in hitlag
6:31 Min Min's controls are so initially bizarre that all the veteran Smash players have to actually invent new lingo to describe her move set. Now we have B-Nairs and B-Smashes along with simultaneous Smash Fair/B-Bair combos.

WiFi sonic vs WiFi min min
Can confirm you can get a Down-Air spike without going off stage. I did it in Classic Mode to the Samus as she pulled up from a tether recovery.
Once I got used to her she's very fun to play, going offstage is common because 99% of the roster is close combat, so always try to hit the enemy with a megawatt to get distance, or jump and punch
I don't think any phrase describes Min Min better than "Oh wow okay"

Since i'm not a hardcore player in Smash, i guess i'm fine with this character.
And besides, you get a new stage and a bunch of Arms music tracks.
The problem for me with min min is if you are shielding and she has megawatt out, and ur kinds stuck there otherwise ur gonna get killed by megawatt, what will happen is the megawatt will almost break your shield and then they will always follow up with the dragon, which is a dilemma because either you get your shield broken, or you get hit with the dragon. It makes it a really good kill move because the player shielding is screwed no matter what they do.
I was waiting for this video.
Pros: Lots of High Damage Outputs, Lots of Range, Easy Gimps, Dragon Laser, Megawatt, Huge Grab Range, Can Kill Early, Reflector on Up-Smash
Cons: Ivysaur Tether, Ramram kinda sucks unless you are gimping (But you might as well use dragon as the laser goes further), her up-tilt and up smash are decent but have way too much end-lag, Grabs have too much end lag, very lightweight and dies early
Overall, for first impressions, I think she is not going to be fantastic, but she definitely will not be low tier. Probably perfectly mid-tier, maybe low mid-tier. She cannot handle rush-down characters but she can out zone many zoners and gimp many people with bad recoveries.
Those cons are fucking exaggerated.
Reflectors don't care what "type" of projectile hits it. Energy or physical it will reflect it. Only really comes into play with Ness down B or G&W bucket.

7:08, in my opinion Magic Burst at peak position (the position where it hits below ledge but cannot be get up attacked) is better as it kills of the side and covers all options, but then again, you have to be lucky enough to get Magic Burst at ledge, so I’d say Min Min has the second best ledge guard.
