Some of the earlier year models of this generation truck didn't make that continuous beep noise even if the door is open after starting the engine. I have an 1988 C1500 and it doesn't do that.
My thoughts exactly because then the truck isn't original and that's why I keep my belated pops 94 Chevy K1500 as original and stock as possible none of that aftermarket crap much at all but now i do have a nice dashboard cloth cover to protect the original plastic dashboard and it;s color blends really well and my pops would be pleased for that !!!
