Performance option is great but you get a bit of artifacts. The Quality option makes the image look much better although you will most likely need to settle for a 30fps experience
I don't know why people are expecting alot from the M1 series to get great graphics with a game like resident evil 4. You can see why it needs those high end GPUs, so don't compare the m1 like that. Get the M1 pro or pro variants if want something
I had the same problem when I had 120gb free, try deleting some apps or files until you have 130gb free space, that worked for me to download the game from the app store.

So what i Had to Do was go into -> Settings and there you will see a picture of a PS2 Controller and choose the option to set your own buttons up since i dont have a mouse I went to ->Customize Keys Settings and under Aim I clicked a button to my liking in my case I chose it to be the C keyboard letter button and to shoot I made it to be a button close to my fingers I recommend M. Or any button you can reach when aiming since walking you utilize the WASDkeyboard buttons. So just try what works best for you. P.S. this game to me sucks because it was the franchise that strayed away from the traditional Zombies and went with Parasitic Infectious Aliens. I rather play Zombie games
I Dowloaded RE4 from the App Store yesterday and tried playing the demo version but could not get it to run smoothly - even after tweaking the settings. I played RE8 on Mac and it was bearable enough to enjoy. I have an 2020 MacBook Pro M1 base model as well. Any tips?
A modern game is running quite smoothly on a processor from almost 4 years ago that uses less than 39 watts, and you're telling me it's hilariously bad? You're delusional
@@MrVirtuz sub 60fps at performance FSR2 and 1080p is a joke. I have a beat up used dell laptop that was considered current 6 year ago, cost me a little under $500 when I got it last may- and it runs this game at 1440p highest quality settings, locked 60fps. Apple sheep.

I tested it on a Mac with an M1 Pro chip and it runs excellent at 60 fps with quality...
Even on the M1 Air it runs great, it can hit 60

Runs smooth on my MacBook Pro 16" with M1 Max 32 core GPU version at 3456x2234. Everything maxed out with MetalFX Upscaling set to Quality.
This is definitely playable. I mean I can nitpick and complain but there’s no end to complaints. I think this one is playable
my storge still have 130gb but i cant download the game on appstore, is say i don't have enough disk space ?

We needed about 140GB of free storage to download and install RE4. When the install is complete it takes up about 66GB.

It's impressive for what it is but as with all new apple devices you wanna wait for 3rd gen stuff or so. M4 should run stuff capably.

At 1080p and MetalFX Upscaling set on Performance it should run as shown in the video. For a better frame rate you can lower the resolution to 900p.
