Maxim Rukinov usually the mobo is shit so yeah there is that.
It could just be that the $1000 option you looked at included everything (monitor, keyboard, mouse). There's also the possibility that you are simply in a remote region - prices will be far higher in say, Hawaii, as opposed to Florida.
most companies inflate prices to an insane degree. Amazon is another example for this. They will legit charge you 1k sometimes for a pre-built PC with a 780ti. In 2018. The card is from 2011. Not that this is a bad card, I can even play games like Assassin's Creed Origins and Destiny 2 on very good settings, 1080p 60fps on my regular 780. But I should also mention that I've had this card for so long I know it inside and out, and I can manipulate the advanced graphics settings to match it's strengths and weaknesses. But still though, pricing on many retailers is crazy inflated.
Stop shopping at best buy. They sell only 2 sata cables and one cost 20 bucks for 1 set but micro center bot a 20 pack for 10 bucks. I went to best buy for a power supply and they only had 1 power supply. Plus they charge you 70 bucks to install ram. How do you charge 70 for a pushdown and click..............................................
I gotta say, that customer service from best buy was pretty good, he offered to price match 2 weeks ago. At my local worst buy I was told to go kick rocks, when I asked them if they could price match last weeks price on a gaming monitor. I even called the customer service line and they said there was nothing they could do. All that shit for the price to drop a week later to the same price it was on sale.
That's actually a really good deal for what you got. I recently tried building a mid-ranged gaming pc, and when the parts were added up, I was paying over $800. That's quite a lot for mid-range specs. I ended up buying a HP Pavilion 690 series gaming PC (the mid-range version) and I paid ~$600 (on sale). The HP had way better components than what I was getting trying to build it myself. All I had to do with the HP was buy an SSD (I may also upgrade the RAM in tne foreseeable future). So deals do exist and you can actually getting something that's prebuilt with good performance.
Good video but slightly clickbait title; I appreciate seeing the type of computer you were able to get prebuilt, but the title made me think this would have a “list of Things to watch out for.”
Ken, you really did a fine ass job! 2-3 years ago I purchased an IBUYPOWERPC ( I was a newbie and didn't have the knowhow). It had a GTX 960, FX6300, 8 GB of ram, and a 1tb hard drive. The fact you got a relatively modern i5 with an RX480 and a 1 TB SSD for $650 ( which is about the price for just the graphics card and SSD alone) is such an awesome deal!
Not me, I've built computers before, and let me tell you, an i3 isn't that much of an advantage over a Pentium g4560. Basically they are wasting peoples money. The people buying the PC are told the specs are good, but the employees can easily lie to them. My advice is do your research, and build your own PC. It's pretty fun, and you are in control of what you are putting in.
When buying a PC just be patient, honestly if you don't feel comfortable in building one then buy a pre-build and go from there. Check and check again on all parts. You may find a killer deal or get sucked into purchasing a crappy system and end up being cornered by the limitations of the motherboard cpu socket support, PSU and GPU that came with it. HDD, SSHD and SSD's are always plentiful and cheap (SSD's depending on storage size.)
Ebay usually has people selling their mobo ram and chip together... that's probably a better place to start, buy a 10 dollar windows 10 key, case, cooler hard drive. You can install windows 10 without owning it for a few days too I think. It's pretty fun until you get overrun by boxes.
ninja of fire They buy hundreds or thousands of components at once and get bulk deals. Especially towards the low end, prebuilts are not a terrible option.
It has a combo mic/headphone jack like a laptop on the front, a separate jacks on the back. You should also be able to use them as two independent inputs as most HPs allow that with their sound device.
My friend just bought a pre-built from Best-Buy that has a 1080, 16gb of ram, i7 8700k, and a 2tb hdd inside a really nice tempered glass case for $1100 usd
I've always wanted to buy a beefy pc with all the bells and whistles, but I'm still in highschool and I would feel way too uncomfortable spending $1000 of my mcdonalds money. Also car insurance is draining me :'(
Hey dude, I'm building another pc. I got r9 380 and an FX 6300 in the old one, runs everything great at 1080, I play mostly overwatch but I know it'll pretty much run anything. I don't really know you or where you live but I'd sell it to you for half of the price and ship it to ya. Wouldn't want you to miss out on pc gaming I'm in college and it's still a huge way for my ass to relieve stress lol. Just message me!
Hey Cole! So I changed my mind up tad and decided to keep most of my parts but here's what I could still sell you if you're still interested! I'm not at home right now so I don't know the exact brands but essentially -FX Motherboard, it's a full ATX, I believe it's MSI - The AMD FX 6300 Processor - R9 380 (not the 380x but I still honestly think it's a great graphics cards just sometimes AMD drivers aren't always the best so keep that in mind) -And a 1080p IPS 60 Hz Monitor (doesn't have speakers but it's got a really thin border and it honestly looks great, I think it's 24" and it's an ACER) -There's also a hyper 212 EVO cpu cooler attached to the CPU. I'll probably just leave that on there for you as the stock cooler sucks ass -The computer case (if you want, otherwise I'll keep it) -I could even just keep it all in the case if you wanted and ship it in a big box like that, probably the most secure to do that. You'd have to buy a Power Supply, RAM, and like a wifi card if you wanted but that's pretty much it If you're still interested then we can negotiate a price or something. I'm sure we could figure out an ebay or amazon some sort of thing. Lemme know
Solid state hybrid drives, or SSHD for short are a hybrid between the two storage types. Yes it's a real thing, and they also tend to be slightly more powerful than the conventional hard drive and ever so more a affordable than an SSD
Indeed, these PCs were cheap for having those components but if you build it you'll have it exactly how you want it and the exact design you want on the case, colors etc.
Nope, found the best pc deal on Amazon. Noticed that people started to recommend it a bit after I found it too. rx580, 7th gen i5, 1tb hd as well as some other things for $719
Can I request a build. PS3 and/or PS4 inside a PC case. I'd love to see the difference in heat, performance, and looks compared to the original case. Maybe with different power supply, cooling system, and storage option(hdd, ssd, sshd.
Pixel wouldn't be possible cause the ps4 is optimized for the ps4 parts only. Pc parts are optimized for the pc so installing pc parts into a ps4 wouldn't be exactly easy
I have a question, I was thinking about getting that 750 dollar pc he reviewed. (CyberPower) I think its rlly good deal but tell me what you think! I know it is a prebuilt but I still think it would be good to get.
Thanks, I can't get it right away, but right now it has been expensive for gpus and building my own. All the reviews are good so I'm considering it a lot
I like how the pc doesn’t completely exemplify “gaming”. I like gaming PCs but sometimes I would prefer a system that just looks like a normal system but is a gaming system
I knew miners killed the market for graphics cards, but I thought pre-builts were safe. I never would have thought of buying an entire system for a single component. what assholes.
"their job"... It's not a job, it's gambling. They're a bit like the assholes who drove our economy into the ground in Wall Street. "it's their job" except that when they "do their job", they screw over (inconvenience) the larger part of the population and aren't punished (like driving our economy in the ground for Wall Street or bloat graphics card prices). They deal in imaginary money, bloating up entities that shouldn't exist in the first place (bitcoin and stock), create bubbles that I hope pop soon. that's why they are referred to as "assholes"
Klaevin well I mean all money is imaginary, we assign value to each and every currency, but realistically if the people who assigned the currency disappeared (the US government falls and the dollar becomes worthless). Also you can not blame a man for doing something if it provides resources for him to survive, in this case, currency. Yea it sucks for gamers and the people who went to this level (buying prebuilts and taking the graphics out then reselling the machine for the same price since most don't know what a gpu is) is a total asshole, but gamers really are the niche market, as graphics cards companies are like "1050ti will run all your games and a 1080 or higher if you need 4k"
Puish that's what I was thinking, what games do you play with it? Newer ones like rainbow 6 siege? Or fortnite? What does it usually pull on high settings? Sorry I'm asking alot of questions 😂 I just ordered it today
Braxton Anderson I play rainbow on high due to the 3gb vram I pull 100+ fortnite 70+ pubg is a bit weird it stutters a lot idk if it’s just my system gta 5 ultra 70+ the Witcher ultra 50+ depends on terrain
The number one point in this video is and should be buying any PC's from Walmart or Best Buy, This is not fake btw I bought a 500$ PC and It came with a Geforce GT 730 and AMD RX 4300. Those 2 together = 120$ roughly. Can't say I got scammed though, It's my fault for not doing research first. Edit: Maybe not never buy from them, just make sure you do proper research before buying from these retailers.
Yeah, walmart wants 500+ dollars for an intel Pentium gold with 8gb of ram and integrated graphics...it's also a micro atx tower so good luck trying to upgrade that

Just dont buy a pre built
But can it run Minecraft?!?

Ken, you really did a fine ass job! 2-3 years ago I purchased an IBUYPOWERPC ( I was a newbie and didn't have the knowhow). It had a GTX 960, FX6300, 8 GB of ram, and a 1tb hard drive. The fact you got a relatively modern i5 with an RX480 and a 1 TB SSD for $650 ( which is about the price for just the graphics card and SSD alone) is such an awesome deal!
“can i call my dad” 😂😂

Not me, I've built computers before, and let me tell you, an i3 isn't that much of an advantage over a Pentium g4560. Basically they are wasting peoples money.
The people buying the PC are told the specs are good, but the employees can easily lie to them.
My advice is do your research, and build your own PC. It's pretty fun, and you are in control of what you are putting in.
"When you walked into the (bleep) retailer what did you expect?"

Enginegamer being patient is hard. I want my build to be finished so I can play on it lol
Enginegamer I saw an hp pavilion with an i5 CPU and an nvidia 1060 GPU with 8 GB of RAM for 400.
Vote for Ken in the next video
I was gonna buy an HP pavillion but then i realised it has no mic jack. Ik usb mics exist but I like jack mics.
HP pavilion prebuilts are so cheap compared to building your own PC I never understand how they do it.
ninja of fire They buy hundreds or thousands of components at once and get bulk deals. Especially towards the low end, prebuilts are not a terrible option.
Cipher An adapter would’ve done the job
I have the 500-205eo but im selling it.
It has a combo mic/headphone jack like a laptop on the front, a separate jacks on the back. You should also be able to use them as two independent inputs as most HPs allow that with their sound device.
3:55 when you have to act like they said something interesting but really you don't care
Nah I had the same reaction a month after having my PC finding my usb c port
My friend just bought a pre-built from Best-Buy that has a 1080, 16gb of ram, i7 8700k, and a 2tb hdd inside a really nice tempered glass case for $1100 usd
Really? was it on sale?
Nope. I was amazed at the price
it might be base 8700, and not a K but I don't know
Are you sure it was a 1080 and not a 1060 because im about to go buy one from best buy and they got a i7-8700 with a gtx 1060 for $1.2k
1080 for sure

Hobosdkcheese hey dude hm
Hobosdkcheese I'm interested
Hey Cole! So I changed my mind up tad and decided to keep most of my parts but here's what I could still sell you if you're still interested!
I'm not at home right now so I don't know the exact brands but essentially
-FX Motherboard, it's a full ATX, I believe it's MSI
- The AMD FX 6300 Processor
- R9 380 (not the 380x but I still honestly think it's a great graphics cards just sometimes AMD drivers aren't always the best so keep that in mind)
-And a 1080p IPS 60 Hz Monitor (doesn't have speakers but it's got a really thin border and it honestly looks great, I think it's 24" and it's an ACER)
-There's also a hyper 212 EVO cpu cooler attached to the CPU. I'll probably just leave that on there for you as the stock cooler sucks ass
-The computer case (if you want, otherwise I'll keep it)
-I could even just keep it all in the case if you wanted and ship it in a big box like that, probably the most secure to do that.
You'd have to buy a Power Supply, RAM, and like a wifi card if you wanted but that's pretty much it
If you're still interested then we can negotiate a price or something. I'm sure we could figure out an ebay or amazon some sort of thing. Lemme know
Hobosdkcheese do you have any way I could contact you besides youtube comment section😂
Honestly, I would just look at PC's by myself because I feel like employees will try to get me a pc at the max budget.
Rewatching this, and just noticed that the salesman said "solid state hard drive"
Solid state hybrid drives, or SSHD for short are a hybrid between the two storage types. Yes it's a real thing, and they also tend to be slightly more powerful than the conventional hard drive and ever so more a affordable than an SSD
Isn't that a fusion drive or is that different that a SSHD?
Tyler Borntraeger fusion drive is apples own branding of an sshd. They are the exact same thing.
The fact this actually got upvotes is so embarrassing. The whole PC-building community are a bunch of elitists. SSHD IS A THING. Look it up noob.
@@PaulBunyun Use your own advice before u write a comment?
How to buy a gaming PC:
Build it.
DOLPHIN Lmao you can't build a PC this cheap with the same parts as cheap as this.
Indeed, these PCs were cheap for having those components but if you build it you'll have it exactly how you want it and the exact design you want on the case, colors etc.
Nope, found the best pc deal on Amazon. Noticed that people started to recommend it a bit after I found it too. rx580, 7th gen i5, 1tb hd as well as some other things for $719
Link?
A Random Idiot Play's have you seen RX 480/580 prices right now? Build me a PC to cheaper with the same parts.
Ken's voice is MAJESTIC!!!!
i've legit had that same exact computer for like 4 years and i really want to build a pc now
Same
Can I request a build.
PS3 and/or PS4 inside a PC case. I'd love to see the difference in heat, performance, and looks compared to the original case. Maybe with different power supply, cooling system, and storage option(hdd, ssd, sshd.
Leon Kennedy Linus watercooled a PS4, temps were better but performance was exactly the same
Leon Kennedy OR have a PC INSIDE A PS4 CASE. Now THAT would be interesting.
Someone did one in a 360 and it was pretty good
Of course it should be the same. People do watercool their PCs for more overclocking headroom.
Pixel wouldn't be possible cause the ps4 is optimized for the ps4 parts only. Pc parts are optimized for the pc so installing pc parts into a ps4 wouldn't be exactly easy

I knew miners killed the market for graphics cards, but I thought pre-builts were safe. I never would have thought of buying an entire system for a single component. what assholes.
its really weird how people actually get mad at miners. "assholes" they are doing their job, nothing shady or anything.
They deal in imaginary money, bloating up entities that shouldn't exist in the first place (bitcoin and stock), create bubbles that I hope pop soon. that's why they are referred to as "assholes"
ntbcool and they complain that some cards aren't good for mining like that is not what it is meant for
mining is the scummiest thing ever, fucking over people for your own personal gain, crawl back to hell scumbags
"This is Ken, he mostly lives behind the camera but today he has a mission"

Edit: Maybe not never buy from them, just make sure you do proper research before buying from these retailers.
