Excellent review! One thing I found missing was the display feature they included, where you could remove the rear label from the canister they came in and mount them to the lid so it looks like they're "nesting." I thought that was one of the most creative things LEGO had done in a long, long time.
A few years back I ended up having to get rid of my entire Bionicle collection. All of my Mocs, 20+ pounds of assorted pieces.really hurts; wish I could possibly get them back. Recently I found something that made my day. Completely separated from the rest of my stuff was my Brown Bohrok still with his original rubber bands and a Grey Krana. With him was my Mask of Light and Crystal Mask of Light. Not much, but a piece of my childhood and favorite time in Bionicle History
I love Bohrok so much I'm trying to assemble a complete swarm. Yes, complete. As in, 8 members of each of the six swarms, with each of the 8 krana. Progress is looking pretty good so far, got 5 Nuhvoks (albeit only 4 krana), 3 Gahloks, 2 Kohraks, 2 Tahnoks, and a single Lehvak and Pahrak.
I was 8 when these ones came out. I had a gerbil at that age. when it died, I burried it in the tube capsule that these things came in. *p.s. the cool kids always assembled these with the teeth facing downward like hooked fangs*
I honestly think you are probably one of the best reviewers on Bionicle in the entirety of RUclips. "We would imagine what Makuta would look like"? Hello we saw him in person as an infected Matoran in the Mata Nui Online game even in the time before time to 2003 as his Shadow Titan form!
OMG! These I have sadly missed! Only joining Bionicle Universe in 2006 with the Bionicle Piraka Gang! These Bohroks were So Crab like ... just love them! This is Nostalgic Lane indeed for many Bionicle Fans out there! Thank You So Much for the Efforts & for Sharing! Stay Safe & World Peace! 🌍♥️🌷🕊🕯
The Toa were the Protagonists, the Rahi the wildlife, and Makuta the villain. But the Bohrok? Oh, the Bohrok were their own monstrosities, with their own vile intelligence. My favorite of classic Bionicle, and still holds a place in my plastic-capsuled heart.
4:32 I loved the eye function of their because it gave the bohrak a weakness, in both the story and toys... I don’t know if I done this before, but if you had a friend you cold each play with one of these and challenge each other with two of them, or another set... just like the old rahi sets. 6:07 I almost got one or multiples of each of the bohrak karma, except the krana su, which was kinda a bummer for me... even when I had all 12 bohrak sets, all 6 bohrak va, and a few extra from krana packs :( , talk about hard luck...
OMG! The LEGO Bionicle Bohroks of 2002! Thank You So Much for this Bionicle tutorial on the Bohrok Family! >>> Brought back so many Fond Memories! Stay Safe & Stay Grateful! 🌷🌿🌍💖
Everything about the Bohrok was perfect. The design, the playability, the posability, the lore, and especially the packaging. Lego Technic absolutely knocked it out of the park.
This has to be the best bionicle video I've seen. My first ever Bionicle I purchased with my own money (I was like... 5 at the time [birthday mone, shush]) was a Nuhvok-Kal. Goes to show how little I knew about the entire lore that I had no idea they were just fancy "elite" versions of the regular Bohrok.
Tahnok was my first Bionicle... Got him at the now defunct Borders bookstore when I was 5. I remember trying to follow the building instructions that night on my parents bed... Good times.
Yeah I hope G2 will get some non-humanoid enemies like these and the visorak. The spooky scary scarelerterns are nice for the moment but I wouldn't want them every year.
Man I loved these as a kid! I made own designs to with either multiple arms or legs and different weaponry or just cool color combos. Actually just ordered some due to nostalgia and watched this video to get hyped hahaha
If I recall, they could also hang inside of their canisters. Upside down in ball form, I believe. There was a connector they all came with that would attach to the lid.
There was a little clip you could hang your newly assembled Bohrok from in the tube that the pieces came in. Used to keep mine in there like they were in stasis pods. Wickeddd
hey dude, i just found your channel, so i dont know if youve done it yet, but can you review the vahki? those were my favorite "mook sets" if you will.
I just want the green one. Aside from my pogs, I it was my first ever Bionicle toy it had introduced me to the series as a kid. I'd definitely buy it some day.
I much prefer the Bohrok Kal-- although they're essentially six more of the same old design --because they actually have personality compared to the drones. Their silver-based color schemes are rad, their shields are much more interesting parts-wise, they have intricate designs on their dome pieces, and each of their powers is much different from the six main elements at the time: Electricity, Sonics, Vacuum, Magnetism, Plasma, and Gravity. Not to mention in the story there are only one of each, and their Krana function independently rather than simply being conduits for the will of the Bahrag. All around they feel more mature than the vibrant originals. To me it's actually somewhat worth getting all of them. They're just badass
I actually still have my Pahrak kal, love that thing although the instructions didn't last the years I am also missing the krana but at least I still have the container
I do. I need 6 of them. I got 6 and they look gorgeous all in formation. Bionicle is great for that. If you get the complete the set you have quite the collarge
While I do own a Lehvak and a Nuhvok and I do agree that Bohrok were the first real villains the Toa faced, I gotta say, to me, the Rahkshi were where it's at when it comes to the enemies for the original Toa team. Funny bit of trivia: kal is Russian for "excrement".
I got at least one of each, both original and Kal, and several duplicates. I got so good at assembling them that I actually did it blindfolded and just by feel a few times to amuse myself.
I had all 6. You forgot to mention that the cases that they came in also formed part of ye hive and that they could be clipped back in them for storage, when in ball mode. The instructions also showed that they could be joined together to form 2 larger creatures, but that may not have been canon for the story, I don't recall.
I actually have an incomplete Kohrak. He's missing his kraana and limbs, but the function was still intact, so it's fine. Also, I have a Nuhvok shield, for whatever reason.
The Bohrok is one of Bionicle's most original and brilliantly designed creatures in the entire series, in my opinion. It has so many features and functions rolled (pun intended) into a compact design, mostly without sacrificing anything except articulation in the head. I don't think any set in the later years has ever matched the Bohrok in design or creativity.

Considering the Bohrok are native to the island Mata Nui (Mata Nui's robot face), are they some form of defense to prevent intrusion, like antibodies or white blood cells?
I used to replace their big hands with self-build "weapons and cannons". The blue one got a long "laser cannon" and a sword from Tau on the other hand from me. Bionicle was a blast!
in the comics, unlike everything else which was an actual living creature, the bohrok were actually robots that were controlled by the masks in their heads, sort of like the kranng from the recent tmnt show.
Howdy! I have a question about krana that nobody seems to know, and you’re the most qualified person I know to answer. I’ve noticed a day ago, a set of three letters in the matoran alphabet on the back of all my krana. I’ve looked around online and nobody seems to know what they were for. Any idea what’s up with them?
the best thing about these guys was that they came with a simple gray connector piece. it would plug into their butts and the other end into the roof of the canister they came in. that way, you could have them balled up inside a little nest, and kind of "deploy" them in ball form. a wonder intigration of packaging you don't see in toys today.
Not worth getting the entire collection? I beg to differ, the pallet swaps give more variety and gives a good reason to buy all six. Also, the bohrok are somewhat army builder sets, and for play value, I guess getting one isn't really enough. This same reason goes for the vahki and visorak. The bohrok kal are different though, they're like the rahkshi, there is only six of them per the canon.
Here`s a recomendation: You can try to make a review of the Bohrok Kaita. Its always a risk, because the pieces may brake, although, its not so commom, as the 2008 and 2009 sets.
