    Hi! I've been diagnosed with anorexia and while I've been maintaining my healthy weight with a nutritionist, my team says that even though I've made progress I am now really stuck and not moving forward and my mental state has gotten worse. They said they aren't enough to help me anymore. So I did an assessment, and I've been recommended for residential treatment. But my ed before starting recovery wasn't super long (7/8 months), and now that I (mostly) do my best to follow a plan and I've gained the weight I needed, I don't feel like I'm anorexic anymore and don't feel sick enough for residential for these reasons, and many more. And trigger warning!! but I still have horrible ed thoughts and body image and still have very obsessive and rigid behaviors around food (such as counting cals or grams, when to eat and how to eat, what to eat, etc.) and self harming behaviors (which I also feel aren't that bad). But I just don't feel sick enough at all, and I feel guilty that my recovery is still happening when my ed wasn't super long, at this point my recovery has been about as long as my ed. You have done so well and I've watched your vids and I'm so proud of you, and I hope I can be recovered like you one day! And I felt you might understand those "not sick enough" feelings, as I know many people who have/had eds feel this way. So I thought you might understand and be able to give some advice! And if anyone in the comments has gone to residential at a healthy weight, has a similar ed experience, has ed thoughts/behaviors at a healthy weight, has any advice, etc., I would really appreciate hearing what you have to say!!

    How long does it take for the guilt to go away after eating so much in one day? I’m early in my recovery so when I feel like I’ve eaten way too much (sometimes it’s equivalent to a binge) I start saying a lot of bad things about myself to my mother and in my head. How do I stop this feeling?

    Have you ever had severe muscle wasting or damage with your eating disorder? I was unable to walk a couple of months ago and now that I'm eating and gaining weight again I have two legs that are full of fluid. I know some oedema is normal in most people's recovery once they start to eat but my oedema goes all the way up to my thighs and now I can barely walk because of the fluid.

    I have the opposite problem. No matter how much I eat during the day, I always have this feeling where I want to eat EVERYTHING at night. Every night. And I think it’s just that I’ve created this habit so my body expects it now. It’s not extreme hunger or mental hunger like it used to be, it’s more-so just an urge and I don’t know how to stop it but it’s getting out of control and I’m so mad at myself bc I’ve overshot my pre-ED weight by 15 pounds

    How can I know if I'm actually following my mental hunger or am actually restricting? Recovery is basically following your hunger,right?If I'm craving junk food,that will never make me full,should I eat less of it and then eat something else alongside that will make me full faster?

    • @recoveredbakes3675
      @recoveredbakes3675  4 года назад +5

      Eat All the food you crave in whatever amounts, no food is good or bad. Sure some food may make you feel fuller quicker physically but if you do that your mental hunger will still be there and won’t be satisfied! Xx

  • @ababy6074
    @ababy6074 4 года назад +2

    I do think there is a danger of developing BED. I have seen it happen and the person has become very obese because they never actually stopped eating huge amounts. It's like they are unable to 'give up' on eating 'all-in' or they sort of bypassed or missed the boat where they were supposed to get off and be recovered. That is partly because eating itself is just a purely pleasurable activity most of the time. We as humans, love food. Some people do become OVER-fond of it, end of. They have just become addicted to it, as people can do to a lot of substances. They get into the habit of eating too much and they don't have other activities in their lives to focus on, which is another problem. You need to have other focuses to move forward with as you start to feel better and less focused on food.
