It's depressing that very few people react to anything from the show,
despite their genius, I don't think the films ever topped this.

Their films are great, but the show was basically changing subjects in machine gun speed, which kept it much more high-energy.

Loved their TV series, classic British absurdist humor. And John Cleese in Fawlty Towers was equally brilliant.

It's no blue parrot or cheese shoppe but it does have a certain charm.

_Monte_ _Python's_ _Flying_ _Circus_ was among my favorite tv shows way back then. The longer "Michael Ellis" piece and the briefer "Upper Class Twit of the Year" competition still bring me to tears. In a similar vein, I loved Rowan Atkinson's _Blackadder_ series and John Cleese's _Fawlty_ _Towers_

I remember watching python back in the seventies with my older brothers. Then it made a come back in the late eighties

The longer skits by Jones and Palin are some of my favorites. Michael Ellis, Mr. Neutron, The Golden Age of Ballooning.

That whole skit with Michael Palin's bicyclist was really a lot longer - took almost the whole episode.

'The Argument Sketch' 'The Ministry of Silly Walks' 'The Spanish Inquisition' 'The Dead Parrot Sketch' 'The Lumberjack Song' 'Nudge Nudge' 'The Dirty Fork' and of course, the greatest sketch of all time 'The Fish-Slapping Dance'
That's just a few, but that should keep you laughing for a while : )

Always great skits with the guys. Try Dead Parrot Sketch, Upper Class Twit of the Year, The Killer Joke, and Four Yorkshiremen. Thank for a great Friday afternoon laugh!

"And now, for something completely different"! P.B.S. back in the '70's with Sesame Street, Mr. Rodgers, and The Flying Circus, totally subverted my viewpoint on the World! Thank God!!! Peace & Love, gotta go feed my dead parrot!

A classic! One of my favorites ever since I first saw it. Besides Mr. Neutron, it's the only other Monty Python TV episode centered around one very naive character and his unexplainable journey...While cycling.

If I remember rightly, this is an excerpt from an episode called "The Bicycle Tour." It was the first time (I think) that the Pythons had crafted an entire episode around a single story, and proved that their absurdist approach to comedy need not be limited to short sketches. I don't think they ever tried anything similar again in the TV show, but of course they did go on to create the two full-length movies, The Holy Grail and The Life of Brian. I often think of this episode as a "proof of concept" for the movies.

You really need to watch a whole show - hilarious! Also, you missed the whole set up for this skit (you could appreciate it).
Look for Dead Parrot, Argument Clinic or Spanish Inquisition.

"The Ministry of Silly Walks " was probably my favourite bit of John Cleese physical humour. Also see him and people like Peter Cook and Rowan Atkinson on the Secret Policeman's Ball benefit shows. There is also the show Not The Nine O'Clock News, with Atkinson and others. You would probably like the skit "Monty Python Worshipers", which was a comment on the how the actors had to go on British TV to defend Life Of Brian against accusations of blasphemy. "The McEnroe Home" is good too.

Every moment of their “Flying Circus” TV show is precious. I love the mix of the absurd and the intellectual in the humor. Very clever lads. This was just a short clip of one of the episodes from season three, if I remember right.

If you think that was funny (and it was!), the next one on your list should be Argument Clinic or The Ministry of Silly Walks, maybe even How to Surprise Your Cat. The problem is there are too many good sketches by Monty Python!

So, I take advantage that there is still no one, even if we are not on the right channel, to make a request for the album We Can't Dance by Genesis and the albums II, IV, Us and Up by PG..
