Interesting that ICE cars park in EV spots in Japan too. My experiences in Japan have been that they are better at doing the right thing more than Americans, but I guess there are jerks no matter where you go. I like that glowing Nissan badge!
Unfortunately, yes there are but you are right about most of the Japanese doing the right thing. Our big problem over here is that even though there are a lot of charge points theres only one or two chargers at the most at each point. That can mean you have to wait a long time for your turn to charge if it's busy. And lately there have been a lot of plug in hybrids using them and that can be very frustrating for the pure electric people who really need to charge.
Ray Bevins lol I don't think "Plug Share" is the most accurate app in Japan. I just checked "Plug Share" and it is missing a lot of charge points but at least the Nissan charge points show up. Thanks for commenting Ray!
I'm from New-Brunswick Canada And where I'm from there is no electric cars the closest thing is a chevy Volt and that is a rare occurrence. You may ask why I like electric cars well I work on ICE cars every day for a living and I know That they can be made a lot simpler and not talking way cleaner too.
Awesome! I love all cars but I'm doing this channel because I think the Nissan Leaf got a bad rap when it first came out. First, all the old school car reviewers drove it the way they drive their ICE cars and so they said it did terrible on range. Then, the bad publicity it got with the Arizona battery fiasco a couple of years ago. If you want range similar to an ICE vehicle then buy the Tesla model S P85. But honestly, this big little car can go pretty far on it's little battery pack if you just drive it more conservatively. Have you test drove the model S yet? If so, what do you think?
Ray Bevins Yes, and I can't wait but we'll have to probably judging by Tesla's track record so far. The Model S was delayed and the Model X has still not been released. So, going by that, we can expect to see the release of the Model E by the end of 2018 the earliest. Also, their pricing has never been even close to what they originally promised before the release of their models. Probably expect a price closer to $40,000.00. Still, if the Model E is even half as nice as the Model S it will still be worth the higher price! :-)
No I wish I had I went on vacation in Europe a couple of months ago I was in the city of Vienna in Austria they have taxi Tesla cars but sadly I tried to call a Tesla cab and I could not hire an electric car because they are mix so you don't know what type of car will arrive they only pure electric car I drove in was the BMW I 3 and it was indoor in the BMW welt in Munich Germany I think If I had the money I would buy the new VW E Golf or The the BMW i 3 the VW Golf is less expensive what I like about the Golf is the parts are going to easy and cheap to buy I'm not talking about the EV parts and the i 3 is verry cool in terms of the materials that is used Aluminum and re en forced plastics etc it is light and it dosen't rust I live on the east coast we have snow and sadly salt on the roads so a car like the i3 could last for a verry long time if not a life time with maybe a battery upgrade.
It's a long story but the short version is, I have always been interested in Asia even when I was a child I would read books about it or watch kung-fu movies or whatever I could find to study it. When I was in college I met my wife and a few years later we were married and since she didn't think she could handle being so far away from her parents, I decided to move to Japan. It's been a lot of fun over here but not without tough times as well. Very different culture over here.
+Alipio Kelly Unfortunately, no. The Navi only works in the language of the country the car is sold in. Hopefully the next generation Navi will be bilingual.
Great videos! I love my Nissan Leaf. No gas or oil for over 8 months now. Thanks for posting.
Thank you and me too! I can't go back to gasoline now.

Nice sun glasses, where can I get me a pair or two?
Ivan bg Any $1.00 store should have a pair or two of something similar. Just make sure the paint comes off every time you wear them! ;-)
I just looked up on plug share. There's only 4 j1772 plugs in all of Japan. Wow!! There are so many CHAdeMOs.

I see a guy I know his son does the same thing but in Korea.
I heard that Tesla is bringing out a Model E. It's almost the price of the Leaf. Maybe in 2017. With 200miles in range.

Is it possible to change the language to English NAVI?
