The 12th is definitely one of my very favorite Shostakovich symphonies, and wow this orchestra plays it with such enthusiasm. I love to see all of their passion! Fantastic performance, BRAVO to all, especially the percussion section!
I always say BOOM SHOSTAKOVICH when I start to listen Shostakovich I don't know why...
FANTASTIC DIRECTOR AND ORCHESTRA .
IT WAS MY FIRST TIME ON #12.
FOR SURE I WILL BE BACK.
Superb! If I ever hear a fool claiming that Shostakovich 12 is a failure, I'll show them this. Thank you for a revelatory performance!
Considering its back story, this symphony is underrated.
What’s the back story?
Absolutely! This is my favourite of the 15 Symphonies. Perhaps it has the reputation of being near the bottom of the ranking as the ending IS a little weaker that the rest of the Symphony. In saying all this, Shostakovich wrote to a friend after he had completed saying that it was 'terrible.' I don't agree. Wonderful playing by this orchestra by the way.
The 12th symphony's final ending is one of the most colossal endings of all time. I have no idea how you deemed it "weak".
@@octave11thpianist58 Shostakovich wrote this symphony as a musical storytelling of the 1917 Russian Revolution (hence its nickname "The Year 1917") and Vladimir Lenin, one of the crucial figures in said revolution.
Magnificent!!!
One of the most eloquent realisations of this important and much overlooked work.
La sinfonia que tuve la oportunidad de tocarla y es la mejor.
This is a very professional and enjoyable presentation of Shostakovich---and I have listened to his symphonies for 35+ years. This makes a very positive impression of the Venezuelan nation!
Reminds me of Kondrashine's rendition.
First time I have ever heard this Symphony. It seemed every bit as intense as Shostakovich's 11th. It re-enforced my own caution to interpret what the music stands for as the 11th is surrounded with interpretation concerning war and conflict. Perhaps this symphony is too. I simply enjoyed the intensity.
Bravo to Barraez and the Caracas Symphony Orchestra
Tan Bello Mi hijo Conccertino Miguel Angel Castillo Ortiz, y su hermano Jesus Gabriel Castillo Ortiz en la Sinfonica Juvenil de Caracas, hoy llamada Juan Jose Landaeta, Dios los Bendiga a tod@s!!!
Gran pieza musical!
Good job, Rodolfo.....Your performance made a lot for people to forget the background on which this symphony was written and just listen to remarkable music.......
spectacular revelation. profound congratulations
What an excellent Youth Symphony with a capable conductor! Certainly on par or superior to that of a leading US Conservatory like the Eastman School of Music. In fact, how many Professional Symphonies of the largest US Cities perform Shostakovich this well?
el mejor con strings galore
The finale of this 112th symphony is much better than many other performances. Too bad that the classical music cannot find more patrons in Caracas, Venezuela. Venezuela, such a nice country, good people, now in such a poor shape!
Thanks to US presidents loke Obama, Trump gangsterism and Biden criminal sanctions. The US represents a threat to humanity as a whole.
ドゥダメル指揮によるショスタコーヴィチの交響曲12番の演奏も素晴らしかったが、この演奏も素晴らしい!
Many of these musicians trained under Gustavo Dudamel in the Simon Bolivar Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Brilliant
I'm not always a fan of this orchestral over-sizing thing they do in Caracas, but in Shostakovich's trashiest symphony it kinda works.
Excelente. La próxima vez, sin partitura.
nasty !! ( in a good way )
Comparing this rather uninspired performance to Dudamel's 'in your face' rendition is like comparing tin to platinum.
So many hot women
The conductor is horrible !
why?
