The joyful subtlety of this is just so sweet and musical. Thank you, Chris & Co. for knowing how to accompany the master.

Written for his son for the bedtime but as Paul said .." I think it has never really worked as a lullaby" I love this one .

The Kenny Loggins version (produced by Ambrosia's Dave Pack, who also plays 12-string guitar on the tune) on Loggin's album, "Return to Pooh Corner", is truly magical music that works just fine as a lullaby for kids.

This did work as a lullaby when I was little I can confirm, the hum from my dads chest helped as well sooth me to a sleep

This is the song I requested. I sang it to my son when it was still from Paul's latest album. No, it does not work well as a lullaby. My nephew and his wife hosted a bonfire in memory of my son earlier this year and asked for song requests in advance. I have enjoyed Chris Thile's work since his Nickel Creek days. When I saw him and Paul Simon doing this song together, I had to experience it, even though this has been a rough holiday weekend. I made it through twice: once with headphones and once sharing it with my wife.

a l my computer decided it was too old to show me any replies to comments about the time you answered me. Just got hold of the wife's iPad. Better late than never to say thank you. In retaliation, I will subject you to other details of my perspective. Mom grew up with the Everly Brothers. My enjoyment of duos bled over into Simon and Gafunkle. I especially am fascinated with their combination of confidence and humility. Chris went to the same college as me, a decade or two later. I had been enjoying his music a few years before learning that he was a fellow alumnus of our music department.
Partly due to my dedication to family, my life took a much different path. I don't envy them. I just feel I can relate to them in relatively unique ways.

This is so great :) hands down one of the best versions of this song on the web. Simon is one of the only people I've ever heard to sound the same, if not better in old age than as he did during his younger years. Thank you for this!

How pretentious to change the name of this show from Prairie Home Companion to distance themselves from the brilliant and talented creator of the show Garrison Keillor

    • @frazerspooner7683

It would be a discredit to the genius of Chris Thile and his hugely successful and beautiful reinvention of the programme for its legacy to be further hindered by the mistakes of its founder.
