    "Iced coffee is for pleasure. Hot coffee is for business" omg you put into words the thing I've felt for years but couldn't ever express or conceptualized. Hot coffee is for in the mornings when I need caffeine immediately and I need to wake up but cold coffee is for the afternoons when I have work to get done and need motivation and energy.

    adding all this to my tbr rn 🏃🏻‍♀
    have you heard of all for the game series by nora sakavic?
    i think you'd really enjoy them as bad as the books are!

    • @chelsey8737
      @chelsey8737 6 месяцев назад +2

      Omg yes. I love how people recommend this book by saying that it's amazing but also we know it's objectively bad. The whole fandom understands that they are objectively poorly written (the newest book is FAR better in quality) but they're so addictive we don't care.
      I think she would like them too because they're just unhinged enough to be captivating but there's just enough emotion and character to send you into an endless spiral of analyzing and you can write dissertations about the characterization and portrayal of every person in this series.

    i walked into Emperor and the Endless Palace without knowing just how much of an erotica it was and if i ever see "pink plums" in relation to "my influence" ever again? i will cry. i was promised a queer historical fantasy about love across timelines and oh boy was it a lot. DNF'd that one oops. Conversely you have convinced me to read The Familiar! i am currently 6th in line at the library for it. Sounds interesting.

    No one's easily gonna remember to say pineapple in the middle of a "scene" when they're overwhelmed, and also it's worth asking why anyone would get off on hurting someone they supposedly care about.
    And there are entire forums where people discuss their horrifying experience with BDSM and "kink". What's the difference with abuse? An orgasm? Lol.

    • @chelsey8737
      @chelsey8737 6 месяцев назад +3

      I think you could benefit from reading up on actual BDSM works. The difference is consent. If you consent to different kinds of play including pain then you've discussed it and you have the ability to say no whenever you need to. Abuse is a one party event. Kink and anything sexual requires communication and consent and if people aren't abiding by those then it's not kink, its a abuse.

      @@chelsey8737 How can you know what I have or haven't read 😂 Consent has to be ongoing, but considering we can freeze when overwhelmed, there's sometimes no way to withdraw consent in the middle of a "scene" that has become too much.
      Additionally, we're always influenced by the people around us, and if part of the so-called game is to toy with consent, of course it's gonna feel like stopping is failing. Again, the forums I mentioned talk about the BDSM culture of "I'm good at BDSM if I can take it" 🤢.
      We are unfortunately capable of consenting to things that hurt us, especially if we have trouble saying no - which many women do. Technically, a woman in a psychologically abusive relationship can say no to sex, but she's pressured into not saying no. Is that true consent? There's also pressure to not stop sex in the BDSM "community", especially since the whole point is sex in the first place. Is that different?
      But also... You people always want to talk about the ones who supposedly like being hurt, never about the ones who like to do the hurting. That's not neutral. There's something deeply wrong about someone who gets off on hurting someone they supposedly love. Wtf kind of reason would make that fine?
      Consent isn't this magical thing that is always obvious and communicable, and it's not the be all end all of sex either. Or do you think it's fine to kill your partner if they consent to being killed? Because that's the logical conclusion if consent is the only concern.

      This person just wants to shame and intentionally misunderstand BDSM and kink. I don't know why they comment as if asking questions. Bad faith troll. Don't engage.

    • @catIing
      @catIing 6 месяцев назад

      @@colleen6644 Ever heard of rhetorical questions? Anyway, idk why you act like shame is a mean evil thing. It's a very useful thing and I think people who casually push the idea that consent can be played with and violence can be sexy should feel more shame than they do.
