And not even close honestly I'm seeing him tomorrow front row at the Beacon theater and front row pit tickets are still available which is just crazy to me that many people are willing to miss out on a legend like Rodney
Beautiful!! I have always loved the Blue Rodeo version of this....good to hear RC's interpretation of his own song, the way it was meant to be played/sung.
He is awesome and thank you for this circle and the Grand Ole Opry I really appreciate it and I love every artist that plays on the Grand Ole Opry stage and all the host like Bobby Bones and Natalie stovall and all the others that host the shows as well
The first time I ever heard this song was on a Merele Haggard album in the early 70's....And I also had a Willie Nelson album, that also had this song on it & an Emmylou Harris album with this song on it, but, this is my favorite version of the song....
Before an artist is formally invited, they are asked ahead of time to meet certain criteria. One of them is to agree to a certain number of performances a year. It could be that he's been approached & has (assumedly) politely declined. This is why George Strait is not a member.
Àfter many years of listening to this song it's the first time I've heard the author actually sing it. If he sang it backwards I still wouldn' t pass judgement on his ability. Shame for such a comment! Ths guy is àn outstanding performer and songwriter, one of the best!
I consider him one of the best singer songwriters ever. Period.

Love him and all his music. No-one can do his songs better
There is a lot of competition for the “best” version of this song. So many beautiful ones out there.
Sunday afternoons can sometimes feel a little lonely and slightly depressing for me(lol). This really brightened my day; thank you for posting this.😊
I don't know why Sundays are so tough. Kris Kristofferson understood it when he wrote Sunday Monday Coming Down.....hang in there.
Love the music of Rodney Crowell !
A Masterpiece . full.stop.

Eamon McClaughlin, member of the Opry house band. Saw them both last Saturday night at the Payomet Performance Center in Truro on Cape Cod
I wish he and Emmylou would do a duet. Her version was breathtakingly beautiful.
My favorite song of yours. Lots of heart in this song. Great hook. Wait for it, "till I can gain control again", bamb!

I will look for Merle’s version. I did not know he sang it. Thank you.
Why hasn't the Opry made him a member?
best thing to hit their stage.

Sweet rendition of his own song. Check out Albert Lee’s version. In the same vein but with Albert’s guitar.
Escuchad por favor LOS SECRETOS: hasta que vuelva a perder el control❤
Who is playing the violin.
I guess because you choose tooo
Good but I like Waylon’s version much better
I like Albert Lees version better
Why would you listen to this after hearing Blue Rodeo
Uh, because Rodney wrote the song.
Why would you make a comment as stupid as that?
