I don't think Mcdavid was hurt, I think he was sick. Just listen to his interview right after they finished off Van. He could not clear the crap that was caught in his chest. It made sense after watching that interview, why he was not using his speed like he did all season. I think this series will come down to special teams.

This round McDavid had zero points in three out of seven games and had more games with negative +/- than positive. I still think he's the most talented in the league but it's the whole team that's needed to win the Cup.
The Dallas coach has convinced his team that they are the best. The Edmonton coach has told his team that extremely hard work is what it will take.

Their contribution against my Canucks was not small, but their whole roster made it a success. kudos
To be honest, for the Oilers v Stars series, two very important players to watch are Bouchard and Hyman. Obviously McDrai is the duo that will draw all the attention, but a good net-front guy is really hard to defend against, and Hyman is severely underrated in that category. And Bouchard, although not a defensive stalwart, but he's such an offensive threat that you cannot afford to cheat at all and collapse to the front of the net. The Oilers powerplay is so effective because every player on the ice is highly dangerous, and as much as you may have a few preferred looks, you cannot afford to cheat to one guy. As an interesting note, Dallas doesn't have a single player over a point per game in the playoffs so far. Edmonton has 5.

I agree Dallas will win but beating Vancouver was no fluke Edmonton was the better team for the vast majority of the time on ice. This series will be closer than most people think.

Well folks…Special teams often decide playoff series, and here again, the Oilers have a clear advantage. Edmonton's power play has been the on of the best in the league, operating at an exceptional efficiency. The combination of McDavid, Draisaitl, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Zach Hyman and Evan Bouchard on the power play has been lethal. The Oilers Team talents and their ability to capitalize on man-advantage situations will be a significant factor. Additionally, the Oilers' penalty kill has been solid, effectively neutralizing opposing power plays and turning potential liabilities into strengths. The Stars, while competent, do not match the Oilers' special teams prowess, giving Edmonton an edge in crucial special teams battles. OILERS in 6 👍💪🏆

Everyone keeps saying the stars have the better depth, yet if you look at the stat sheets and the advanced stats, that's just not true at all. And when you factor in that Edmonton's top say 4 players are VASTLY better than anything Dallas has,.. the Stars I do believe has the better starting goalie but Skinner can also go on hot streaks for stretches. Edmonton is definitely underrated for some reason going into this. ...also i don't think that's going to work out well for Dallas psychologically. See what I did there?
Edmonton can also throw in Picks if they have to that’s another weapon they have he’s been solid.

@@ericcook7622 Probably Bouchard and Hyman. Bouch is horrific defensively and Hyman can’t play without McDavid. Dallas has 3 lines that can score. Edmonton has 1, maybe 2 on a good day. Saw that in the Van series when they couldn’t get scoring until game 6 against a 3rd string. Dallas’ defence is also much better, with probably the best D man in the playoffs with Heiskanen and best defensive defenceman in Tanev.
Well said. I think anyone who thinks there is better or more depth with the Stars compared to the Oilers is certainly not looking in the right place. Canucks were a very good team and played well but lack of depth defeated them. Will be a very good series though no matter what. Oil in 6...😜

Even though Mcdavid isn't scoring a ton against Dallas watch what he's doing defensively. When the puck is in Oilers end he isn't up at the red line cherry picking he's stopping any chances of a Dallas goal. It's amazing to watch.

Both teams have multiple/split personalities this year, but they both hit the post-season incredibly strong.
The winner of this series will hoist the cup, and the smart money is on Dallas.
Even when the Stars had weak starts in their playoff games, they almost always woke up and put in the hard work they needed to.
I see the west finals going six games, with Dallas being the eventual winner.
Even so, I'm really proud and impressed by the amazing job the Oilers have done this year!

Watching this after game 1 of the ECF. Florida put on a forechecking clinic that was so impressive they completely killed the crowd of MSG. It was like a covid game out there with how much they took the crowd out of the game. The Rangers looked lost all game with the exception of the gift of a GI call they got and a brief flurry in the third.
I’m taking Florida only because they look relaxed and like they are having a good time.
As a Canadian I’m cheering for Oilers but I think goaltending is going to be key this series. Hope Edmonton can prove me wrong though, it would be nice to see McDavid get a cup

The panthers are a well-oiled machine this season. New York is definitely gonna be a strong opponent but the panthers team play and coordination is next level, and with Bob being an absolute wall in net, it’s panthers in 6
No hate but everyone is sleeping on the Oilers. With that PK percentage they can shut down a powerplay and really make the other team work for there goals. And on the other side if you take a penalty against Edmonton they will kill you on the powerplay. To beat Edmonton you’ll have to do it 5 on 5 and that is Edmonton’s weakness but I think Edmonton matches up well with Dallas.
Time will tell. LA and Vancouver were ... lets be honest ... total muffins. Dallas went through The vegas injured reserves and colorado. Guess we'll see if they can get it done

Colorado wasn't icing a complete roster, and had pretty much given up in game 4 when the news about Val broke. Still managed to muster a strong enough effort to take Dallas to a game 6 double OT.
The soilers are NOT missing any key players, have the best defensive stats of any team remaining in the playoffs and their entire blueline is a unit. When players like Cody Ceci and Brett Kulak are scoring goals, it should begin to concern you.
The Stars are incredibly overrated. Go ahead and tie up Mcbaby or any of his linemates, they'll just pass it to one of those guys back there and they'll put it in the back of the net.

everyone asks "what skinner are we gonna get"... theres only one skinner, and hes a backup tendy AT BEST.. sometimes he gets lucky, but generally he lacks instincts, hes slow to react, slow to get up, and often loses track of the puck entirely, caught embarrassingly searching for the puck in the corner when the puck moved down ice long ago. Truly, I hope for the best for skinner. He seems like about as solid as they come, personality wise.. but hes really struggled to find his game and im not sure hes going to find it playing with the oilers much longer.
I think his regular season and playoff starts show a pretty accurate picture of Skinner, which ranks him much lower than most goalies that came into these playoffs.
Pickard is the sort of average playing goalie that the Oilers need in net right now.
