Maaan, the developer must be REALLY stoked now. All his hard work and efforts suddenly turn into gold overnight. He probably got way more attention than expected!

Not overnight, tbh. I took a look at the developer and they have a history of making similar games. So, it's years in the making -- lots of hard work and refining the formula. Asmon exposure certainly helped a lot.

Very happy about Asmon giving small indies visibility, I actually first heard of both Vampire Survivors and Halls of Torment from him and ended up buying both (including VS DLCs)

This game scratches that part of my brain that likes seeing monsters die in droves in Diablo 1 and 2.
Shame you never actually see droves of monsters in d4! Density is so poor
The game gives you a better top end experience than d4, for casuals.

ive played a bunch of these survival 1 vs 1000 games and this one with the armour/ items and the diablo 1 art style is my fav by far

that's the thing - art style + ambient/setting + music... a lot tend to compare it to a completely different sorts of smash'em ups and I can't play them. They are not satisfying for me while this game is!
This game deserves the spotlight. Can't wait for more updates. A 2 player mode would be LEGENDARY.

Exterminator CAN crit if you increase the base critical chance. The main weapon just STARTS at 0% critical chance. Look at the weapon stats after taking the buff.

The orbs are actually great, people just need to spec into movement speed to take full advantage.
Move speed, inner ring of orbs spinning opposite direction, +1 orbs traits. You become a murderous lawnmower real quick.

One thing that Asmon is missing is how OP Block is!
Block works just like any rpg, you were supposed to take a damage, but if your block number is higher than the attacker the whole dmg will be denied.
I finished the first dungeon on my second run doing a full block + crit type of build
Took playing as the shieldmaiden to appreciate how good block is.
"I'm an archer, cleric, and warrior all at the same time. " - @16:28 . Feels like my multiclass DnD characters now.
Funnest game Ive seen Asmon play, ever. I do enjoy Asmons sense of humor alot and his expression make me fucking laugh out loud at times. But underneath all the shenanigans he is a very clever guy with great insight, which is why its worth watching his vids. Thank you Asmongold for fantastic content at times :P

I love the warlock, some of the summon buffs are insane. Btw orbs can be insane once you get the 2nd row of inverse rotating orbs. Orbs have highest dps in my runs. I'm guessing because once you get where the whole screen is filled with mobs....you have 6 orbs constantly doing damage.

I bought this game 1 month ago, very fun trying to create builds based on the items you collect on your runs. Gonna be great when they add a lot more items to make more fun builds

Personally recommend phantom needle. That skill is a must have for bossing because if its firing rate and damage.

u could try Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup jts diffrent genre but really good and nieche missed diamond like this one
i've been playing this for a little while and my go to strategy for upgrades is to take whatever is lowest tier and if all are same tier i choose multi > attack speed > range/area > damage > regen > everything else. i think even when something is the weak upgrade for your class you still benefit most from leveling everything. gear is where you build more of a specialty. i also think that the close fast abilities are better for example phantom needles and flame strike but it's good to do runs with everything to unlock the quest objectives.
meteor always have more or equal dmg output as my main attack by the end of the round

The best part of this game is that there's no bullshit. No loading screens or long winded exposition cutscenes with people talking as slow as they can (I'm looking at you Diablo 4). You just launch the game, and within 5 seconds, you're controlling the swordsman and cutting down skeletons.

4:31 orbs is best and should be meta for every build: Build movement speed with orbs and when you unlock inner orbs and the other dungeons you will have a chance at enough skill upgrades to explore other options. When you obtain the amulet that boosts damage up to 50% based on pickup range that go with gloves, youll get a helm that boosts dmg based on enemies ignited that finishes the build. just finish last zone at lvl 98 with this build. Meteors finish it off.
