100%, I'm a Destiny player and have been consistently disappointed with what could be an amazing game, then I realize I can just sink hours and hours and hours into games like Halls of Torment and YOMI Hustle like I have lately lmao
The main issue is that AAA games have just become interactive movies, but we already have movies. A lot of them. So why do we need games that forget they're games?
I love watching Asmon play this type of game. The way he hypes himself is hilarious.

If somebody look for similar gameplay, but in sci-fi environment, you can try Alien Shooter 2, it is old, but still good (and graphic is a bit better lol). Slaying tons of monsters in isometric view, but with more gameplay depth.
He is in rare form with these long-dick roguelites

I'm so happy I watched Asmon play this game. I probably would've never heard of it. I've already sunk 20 hours into it in the last 4 days.
It's a great game! First saw it in the rumblings a couple months ago but getting to see Asmon enjoy it is a blast!

For those wondering, the gloves at 32:20 are very useful when you're near end-game and you have a bunch of "3m dmg with artifact" quests to finish. The gloves will boost the damage of whatever artifact you're grinding damage for, while you turn your autoattack off as to not steal kills and damage from said artifact.
1:04:32 Dragon's Breath is absolutely OP, just don't turn it into incinerate. The wave is absurdly strong, it gets to the point that it basically wipes out the whole screen by itself.
Small trick btw... Always wait to lvl an ability to III before taking the next ability scroll, that way you can upgrade it right away. then wait to lvl 6 for next scroll.
this game is easier with 1 or 2 ability maxed than 4-5 half buffed.

My first instinct when I discovered this game via asmon's first playthrough was immediately pausing the video, buying the game, and no-lifing the everliving hell out of it. I unlocked the shield maiden and the sorceress yesterday. Beat 20 lords today
I'm glad he's showing that you can still do well in this game when you consistently make the wrong upgrade choices.
once you get a few upgrades and good items the game becomes incredibly easy ,but also still fun.

For noting, the secret to huge XP (getting the lvl 100 achieves etc) is to stand still. You can see the gems change from basic to higher level (blue>yellow>purple>cluster) and you actually get bonus XP for the gem evolution. Once you get enough damage to comfortably sit in the middle of the swarm, let 5 minutes go by and then sweep up the whole lot or get a magnet for huge jumps in level.
Isnt it just the game changing the visual of the xp bottle because theres too many of them at the same spot? Does it actually increase xp gained?
I am hooked on watching him play this, it is one of the most satisfying games I have ever seen him play.
I've put 15 hours into this game in the last 2 days... Love it! It's like vampire survivors, but with a lot more stuff.

my go to strat is picking 1 secondary power, then develop it alongside the main, then wing it and farm near the magnet, then once the boss spawns grab it to pick all xp left over then bring the boss all the way near the well. once he's dead, put some item in there before touching the crystal.
Nothing feels better than hopping on this game at midnight, baked af.

So even though it starts with 0% crit, getting the 5% base crit perks does allow you to crit. Learned that using the Exterminator and built up to 25% crit on the flamethrower. Did massive damage.
Exterminator has 1/5 the crit damage of most other characters so idk if that’s the best build option but I guess it still works because of the frequency of the flamethrower’s attacks.
@@janterri3539 It slapped pretty hard. Took all the crit, crit damage, attack speed, and bonus damage that popped up. Was able to just strafe in a line and destroyed everything. The bosses all melted instantly.
I just beat the last two levels with exterminator, crit build, transfixiation did 10 milion damage
Exterminator with attack speed and base cit chance absolutely melts the 3rd level.
I liked the part where he died to the hydra and was totally cool about it.
Day 3 recommending: For anyone who sees this and likes Halls of Torment, there's another game much in the same vein done by a solo developer called Spellbook Demonslayers. Very fun game, just started getting more updates recently, I definitely recommend it. The graphics are different than this old school and the music unfortunately gets old quickly but it's a solid game with the same mobbing, tons of abilities, more starting characters, and tons of upgrades and difficulty modifiers.

I got it because of Asmon's stream, it's not even my type of game (I'll never play diablo for instance) but I'm enjoying it. AND it feels good to give AAA games and developers the finger.
To be fair diablo isn't a whole lot like this, its just a easy graphical style comparison to the old diablo games. Diablo plays more like League of legends in actual gameplay

i blasted this game because of asmon. thanks, brother. transfixion is silly good. also, keep in mind if you get Level 3 Ability upgrade before you pick up an ability scroll, you are guaranteed at least one of the two ability upgrades for an active ability. also mained swordsman into viaducts, but after unlocking shieldmaiden, found my home.

You need to remember garlic absolutely sucks!!!!! Get phantom needles and then upgrade them so they split and then upgrade them so they explode. Don't pick up an upgrade until your skill is at level 3 then wait until the skill is level six to pick up the next upgrade that lets you get the upgraded versions of them.

Shield Maiden is the strongest char in the game imo. If you build up her defense and block she can literally wade through the hordes without a care in the world, and with 200% base crit damage bonus she already hits extremely hard so you 'can' build her very tanky, which is pretty dang awesome.

The only part of the talking while eating I could understand was "you see this shit" 😂
just a tip, area/cone size is pretty important when you always pick Radiance. The bigger you get that area the easier the maps are because things die before they can get to you. And for the ghosts that run at you when you're not looking you need crit. Normal hits always do 1, crits do much more and kill them quick.
You do know the damage is scaled based on how many enemies are inside like the clerics auto attack right? Smaller circle + higher attack speed is way more impactful
Love watching Asmon do pretty much anything and this game is fantastic. Hope he plays Soulstone Survivors next.... my latest addiction.

Get the golem, the imp ring, and the necromancer's clutch... then run the warlock again. lol. Focus on summons and damage... that thing is just ridiculously OP.
Rings dont work as well on the 2nd level because enemies are coming from a much more linear position. Rings often go off the map and hit nothing else.
Just hopping on this game and watching 30 min fly , the joy and the satisfaction, OOOAH ITS SO GOOD
The controls are so tight, makes avoiding enemies perfect and satisfying

addicted to this game. Get Arcane Orbs up, get hella move speed like so much move speed its crazy. Get enough orb upgrades to get inner orbs. omg you just are a lawn mower at that point. Use those gloves that give you an extra orb. Always take the extra orb upgrade. I feel like I've had an orb appear because of the amount of move speed I was stacking.

Instead of getting a bunch of pickup I try to save the gathering claw until the end; if you walk around and kill barrels the claw buff will be shown like the default one that spawns. Loop back before the last boss and grab it.

I bought a steam deck to play AAA games on the go, and here I am spending all my free time playing this instead. No complaints, but I never would've guessed it
I tried a build last night, I played the wizard guy, and i had the wizard gloves. The ones that add 66.6% damage if you don't use your main attack.
Then i just went arcane orbs. I got the inner orbit thing also.
I defeated the entire 1st level with just orbs. It was very slow at first, but then it just turned into a meat grinder. I stood still and everything died.
Unfortunately it was not enough damage to kill the boss. Especially since I didn't get the trail of blood powerups.

Yo, play the 3rd stage, unlock the potion maker, use the well to get more potions per game, Memory + Double Trait upg pots are insane.
Best game I've had so far was Exterminator + Fully UPG Radiant + Fully UPG Transfictiation + 1 level of Lighting strikes, Just apply every single debuff in the game, and affliction increseas dmg of debuffs, insta win ^_^

Yea, I saw him play this 3 or so days ago, and decided to buy it.
Well, I've basically unlocked all the characters (there's 7) and cleared all the maps. I've cleared the last map comfortably with 4 characters, and the highest level I managed was 98 (there's a lvl 100 achiev).
So yea, the game now needs a few extra maps :P. I think I saw smth on reddit about how there's some content planned for July, but I'm not sure.
I'd say my favourite are in order
- Cleric
- Swordsman
- Shieldmaiden
- Warlock (or whatever it's called)
- Archer
The others I don't care much for.

for what i have seen so far~ the holy aura seems to be split damage deals massive damage to single target and splits it among multiple so if base damage is like 4k and theres 1 enemy it does 4k damage duh~ if theres 10 enemies inside the area tho it splits down 10 times to deal 400 damage to each... so the aura is useless if you end up in a scenario where you're massively swarmed with high health enemies.
also i'd like to see Asmon try the game called "Spirit Hunters: Infinite Horde" is a VS like with a whole ass skill tree, to get lost in.
i hope someone makes an mmo with aesthetics like this game.
