Greeting good folk! I hope you like my concept of " *BOSS DUNGEON TILES* "! This was a very fun and exciting build! Stay safe and lots of love! 💙💛💙🤘
My daughter loved the pink and purple one! Great music at the end!
Hahaha! Good taste! That's my favorite as well! :)
Amazing video Leffe!
Thank you man! And also happy you joined as a Patron! 🙌
All great! Here's my verdict:
1. Chaos - the overall look with those tentacles/worms/things added just made this top notch!
2. Vampire - love the blood pool in the middle, great!
3. "The Diablo" - the color in the pentagram really really popped!
4. Dragon - liked it least among the six while being crafted due to too many colors but seeing it in action at the end it was a positive impression.
5. Undead - undead are always cool!
6. Orcs - Well, someone has to be last but remember in this list the last is still great!
Cracked tiles, gravel and grass growing are all cool but you forgot to mention that some of the tiles have slightly sunk into the ground along some edges. This is a great detail! Really took all of the terrains to 11 on the 10 graded scale.
Fantastic!
Not a bad ranking Niklas! I would personally put the dragon one at the bottom. 🤣
Coolest tiles I have seen so far ! A proper artist who thinks out of the box and just goes for it, resulting in unique and gorgeous tiles.
Wow, thank you so much for saying so Tannhäuser Genetics! 👍😃
I like the one for Tiamat. Using a tooth from and ancient dragon of each type trying to bring Tiamat back to this plane.
Thanks Da Vinci! Glad you like it! :D
Well now I know what I’ll be doing this weekend.
Haha that sounds like a good plan then Connor, right? 🤣
Watched for the tile designs. Fell in love with the massive skeleton at the end.
Hahaha! Yeah that Skeletal Giant is a very cool "miniature" from Reaper! They make great things! 👍😁
I really like the epic scale of these and your guide through making them, suitable for all crafters. This calls to my love of Warhammer Quest. Had no idea Army Painter did box sets for terrain makers.
Thank you so much Ellesse! Happy you like them! 👍😃
This are freaking awesome Leif!!!! Probably one of your best videos yet!!
Aww thanks man! Happy you liked it! :)
Hey dude! Sorry for bothering you here but where have you been? Your comments are missed but mostly I just want to make sure you are ok? I didn't find any way to contact you so I hope RUclips notifies you here. Hope all is well! 💙💛💙
@@DevsDice Hey Leif, I am deeply sorry for worrying you. I am okay but I've been dealing with a massive level of depression as of let and have been kind of lacking on a lot of things. I am honestly touched that you cared enough to message me to check up on me. I hope to catch up on your videos soon and annoy you with my puns.
Oh shit man, take the time you need! Depression is no joke man. I just wanted to know you were ok man! Thanks for getting back to me! 👍
@@DevsDice Thanks for checking in! I really appreciate it :)
Boss Dungeons Tiles, searched and did not find and then Leif comes into the picture. Great vid mate :D
Thanks Nate! Yeah a bit surprised that there was no other videos on this to be honest! 😂
GOD!!! that snow looks beautiful. I hate living in Florida 😬 Killer job Leif, those tiles look like something you would buy in a box set.
Snow is wonderful!! :) Yeah Florida don't have that many snow days I assume? Then again, your wardrobe needs less clothes! That's an advantage right? Thank you so much John for saying so! 💙💛💙
Found your channel a week or two ago and have been going back and watching tons of your painting videos. Great stuff man
That's awesome to hear Tyler! I am happy you like the video I have so far! 💙💛💙
Very dope! I've painted my first two minis ever while watching your videos. So many tips. Thank you for taking the time to do these videos!
Thank you kindly Stone Slate! Glad to hear my work is appreciated! 👍💙
These are looking dope AF! Great work!
Thank you so much László!! I am glad you like them! 👍
They're WONDERFUL! Congrats!
Why thank you so much! 😂
That chaos tile looks like a Slaanesh murder disco
Hahaha! So true! :D
Masterfully done. Built for a boss, built like a boss!
Hahaha! Thank you kindly! Glad you like it! 😂
The tiles turned out very nice. It's a nice touch to let them do some environmental storytelling!
Also, another great intro! :D
Keep it up!
Thank you 186mw! Yeah I really wanted these to be evocative for players. I wanted them to ask "what the hell has happened here" or something similar! 😂
Great work on the video Leif, these tiles are awesome!
Cheers Shawn! :D
AMAZING SETUPS! 🤩🙌🏻 GREAT IDEAS! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thank you Rafael! I am happy that you like it!
WOW! WOW! WOW! I cannot wait to create my own!!!!!! WOW! WOW! WOW!
That's awesome to hear! Music to my ears! 👍😀
Leif, you are awesome. Keep on keeping on.
Thank you kindly G-monk! I try my best! 👍😅
My favorite... Is all of them!
Haha! Thanks Donny! But we both know that the chaos one is the best....right? ;)
I love your videos for crafts that you do. I would like to inform you that when you do larger game mats, Boss Tiles, or weather boards making the squares 1 1/2" will allow you to place your walls on the main board with out loosing space in the corners for mini's or monsters. I have switched to this measurement and it really makes a difference. Please keep doing what you do, can't get enough of them and already it has made a difference with my own crafts. Thank you
That's an awesome tip Michael! That being said, I usually do not use walls but perhaps I should? I feel like the walls hinders the sight for people around the table? But perhaps I should look into it! Thanks for the nice words Michael and yeah I will push on! 👍😊
Good job man! Love watching your videos, just which there was more of them lol
Thanks Jon! More to come for sure! I try to get one out a week but it's hard since I have a daytime job, family etc. But I try! 😂
I was so excited watching you make the pentagram tile. It came out amazingly well and was even better when you put the minis on! Incredible work!
Thank you so much BigBod360! Yeah that one was one of the simplest but I agree it came out looking awesome! :D Thanks for the nice comment! 🤘😈
This is some next level terrain! The chaos tile and the vampire tile are incredible!
Thank you kindly Elric! Yeah I think my favorite is the chaos one! :)
Dang it! Now I'm going to have to go make even more tiles. XD Nice video, Leif. Enjoyed it
Haha! I'm sorry! 😂 Happy you like the video though! 😊
Another work of art, masterfully done. Great job brother.
Thank you once again Eiloccorb! You honor me! 🤘 Yeah I liked the idea and the result was generally quite good. Well, except for the dragon one. I liked it in theory but I think the execution was a bit lacking! 🤣
realy wery gooooood work
Thank you much Tom! :)
I like them all, can't pick a favourite.
Hahahaha! Thank you Jamie! I think mine is the skull one, or the orc one. Or perhaps the chaos one! Hahahaha! 👍🤣
Hey Leif! I just stumbled upon your channel a good week ago, and man, have I binge watched the hell out of it! :)
I made a vow that I won't be crafting new dungeon tiles any time soon, but I might (okay, surely) have to break that, as these boss tiles are just amazing, really inspiring stuff!
Welcome to the channel Mágustorony! That makes me very glad to hear! Yeah these boss dungeon tiles are quite interesting! 👍😃
Lol. Well done. I may have to make a few of these.
Lol!? Not good? :D
The pentagram tile looks amazing! I want to try making one!!
GO FORTH SIR ANDREW AND MAKETH ONE! NOW! 👍😀
Hey, a quick tip when using spray primer outside in the cold, if you warm the can using water, it should spray better outside in the cold till the can temperature begins to drop from being outside. Be careful when doing this obviously due to whatever temperature you have the water at. The hotter the water, the more careful you should be to keep from getting burned or having something bad happen with the can. Hope this helps in the future.
Great looking boss tiles!
Hey John! Thanks for the tip! I usually stay inside and shake for a good 5 minutes before priming but I am sure that the warming the can up has its benefits for sure! Thanks for the nice comment also! 👍
Må bare si, utrolig kule og inspirerende tilskudd å ha i samlingen! Lager modulære deler selv, og kan absolutt se for meg å hente inspirasjon herfra. Stå på Leif! hilsner fra nabolandet.
That's great! Happy to help with some inspiration! Thanks Daniel for the kind words and hello back from Sweden! :)
Looks amazing, man!
Thank you kindly Shane and thanks for joining the Patreon! 💙💛💙
Love how these tell or inspire a story! I know things like this would get my players excited! Great ideas!
Thank you so much Sunny! Yeah I did try to make these evocative to tell some sort of a story of what kind of events that could have occurred! Thanks man!
I really liked the tiamat one and the slaaneshi themed chaos one too. The vampire skull one was my favourite though!!
Thank you so much Joe! Yeah I think the Slaaneshi one is my favorite. Not sure! Like all of them from a certain perspective! 😂👍
Finally a video which is not distracting me too much whilst building stuff ^^ ( not a D&D person) - winter is awesome, right? Just love erverything about it, I wish it would be more wintery over here.
Haha! Well that's positive right? :D Love Winter, well I love most seasons I guess with some exception for really superhot summers. Like we Swedes say "lagom" i.e. "just about right" is better :)
@@DevsDice same - hot summer is quite painful for me... (btw. do you have a discord channel as well? Might be nice...)
Yes I do and it's currently for my Patrons. Sorry. :)
@@DevsDice yeah, I figured that out in the meantime ^^
Yeah sorry, we shall see if I can make some sort of open version down the road but for now I want to keep it to my Patrons while I am learning the ropes! :)
Awesome work. I think the tentacles could have also been used as intestines on the blood splatter tile as well. Also The Idea of boss fight tiles is really good and makes more sense than lots of dungeon tiles. Being able to show the room and roll for initiative rather than describe the room either before or after the fight makes for better immersion. Thanks for the video
So true Joe! I agree with the Boss concept for sure! Thanks for the nice comment! 👍😊
there's a little alcohol lamp you can get that's meant for heating sculpting tools for wax carving. those burn clean and don't cover your tools in soot like a candle.
Ahh that sounds like a good future investment! Thanks K. Levi Rusco! 👍😊
This was amazing Leif, I'd love to see you do a diorama with some more terrain work!
something with different levels would be really cool!
Yeah looking at the voting in the community tab I will do a slight pivot and make more terrain this year so hopefully something will come out of that! 😉Glad you liked the video! 🤘
I love this, it's one of my favorites of your vids.
Thank you so much Dave Burrows! This was a lot of fun to make! 👍😊
Absolutely love these tiles! Great job
Thank you kindly Michael! I am happy you like them! :)
Loved the tiles bro. Always look forward to your videos. They cheer me up.... Oh and Father Dagon! Lol
Hahahaha! Thanks man! I am working myself up to it! :D
That sickly gold looks so good I’m gonna have to get some, it looks good for something that’s supposed to be reflecting green light or mixed with some kind of warpstoney theme!
Hey Ghoblin! I totally agree! It has that sort of well...sick shine to it, which made it perfect for that tile! :)
Thank you for all your videos, always inspiring and informative!
Thank you so much for saying so Ilya! That makes me super happy to hear! 👍😊
These turned out great 👍
Cheers Mike! Yeah these were super fun to make! 👍😁
Fantastic video altogether!
Thank you so much! Glad you like it Shrugging Atlas! 👍😃
Awesome job on those boss tiles! I REALLY love the pentagram one. This has given me several ideas for my upcoming diorama project, to add more flavour and details. Thanks for the great video!
Oh, and I just bought that Army Painter metallics set, too. No golden brush, though.
Thanks Ronald! I do like the pentagram one as well together with the chaos one... I think! Happy to help as always! Haha yeah I didn't get one either! 🤣
These look great!
Thank you so much Tom! Happy you like them! :)
Magenta tiles.... sign me up!
Thanks Franky! It is my favorite as well! :D
Great idea using the air flow from the airbrush to make splatter effects! Also, question for you about the TUFTS. They come with a sticky back already, but then you use glue to affix them. (I do as well) But I"m wondering if you know something, or have had an experience to drive you in that direction. I only do it, because I watch you do it ;) Keep up the great videos Leif! Skål !
Thanks Mike! Yeah I think that the adhesive is stronger than the one on the back of the tufts! Thanks man! :) Skål!
I would have changed the grass tuffs to mushrooms because grass would not be able to grow in a dark dungeon not enough light , but I think you idea is a good one because it does give the tile some visual interest to the tile but grass does not make sence to me ... I do like everything else about this project and I think you did an outstanding job on them , well done !!!!
Haha! I was sort of thinking the same thing myself but yeah in this case I went with what I had :D Thanks for the comment! 👍
Another great video!
Thank you James! Happy you like it! :D
Great Work
Thanks Stephen! 👍😊
I definitely got the Diablo vibe from the 3rd tile!
Haha! That's great! Was going for it! 😂
Awesome project! love the execution and cool little tricks here and there. Fantastic work mate. Are those images for the stencils available anywhere?
Thanks Sebastian! I can make them available if you're interested. I just made them in Illustrator so :D
@@DevsDice Yes please! they're awesome!
Alrighty man! I will sort it out this evening!
Here is the link! You should find a PDF named stencil something! :)

@@DevsDice thanks so much!
wow, these look absolutely fantastic! Very original seeing how many people make normal tiles, while these are very unique. Also, I was wondering, which airbrush thinner do you use? And in the Netherlands we also call them a Passer!
Thank you Matt! Yeah I thought I would put a spin on the whole dungeon tiles concept! :) I generally use either Vallejo thinner or Army Painters Airbrush Medium. In this case it was the latter together with some water! :D
I have to say, I was a little skeptical of the concept, and I think that some came out better than others, but damn if that ritual one isn't amazing!
I agree that some were better than others but regardless I think I will use them when the context calls for it! :D Thanks Christian! 👍
Leif, what is the name of the song where you show your finished work at the end? While I am happy to watch your vids to hear it, the policeman told me it was not a good idea while driving (not serious... yet)
Hahahaha! So many people ask me! 😂 It's Niklas Johansson - Call of the North! 👍
magnifique !!!
Merci beaucoup! 👍
Fantastic video!! Never thought of making boss tiles. Always look forward to your videos! One question....is it common viking behavior to bash yourself in the head till you get the idea? LOL Again...thanks for the video!! :)
Thank you so much Chester! Hahahaha! 😂 Not sure about the bashing but I didn't have any mead or mushroom handy so I had to resort to "alternative methods"! 🤣
@@DevsDice 😂😂😂
man i need that for my dnd sessions Xd
That's great Alpha! Just make some right? Now you know how! :)
Awesome! I'd buy one, put it into a frame and put it on my wall :) Skitsnygga!
Haha! Thank you so much man! :D Happy you like them! 🤘
totally inspired.
Thank you so much Correlian! 👍😀
Nice idea for a box, well done Army Painter. Oh wait...what? 90 Euros? That would be like 75 GBP? No.
Yeah I guess it's not for everyone! :)
Why did you choose this specific layout (8x12) for a boss level? Sorry, I'm still new to the table top genre.
No worries Joel! It was basically the size of the sheets that determined the size I went for! 👍😂
@@DevsDice They looked great. I'm going to make some for my little boys and their action figures. Love the idea.
I thought you were going to say "and here I took some tweezers from my wife's cabinet"
Haha yeah no, I am fairly certain that I have like 4-6 times as many tweezers as she does! 😂
Acetone on foam.... be careful... its a real good time!
Hi Juston! You mean for creating pools and such? Yeah I have tried it in the past but since one looses control quick quickly and these sheets are 11 millimeters I didn't dare it! 😂
@@DevsDice yeah it’s brutal to dial it in but if you use a spray bottle (dukes of hazard over here lol) or treat it as a dry brush. Free handing or over a template it’s a just a great organic texture... but yeah thin materials could be too much risk. I just love the stuff! I also am a lover of snow the great validation of winter... without it winter is just brown and depressing
Coolness! Yeah winter is great when there is snow! :)
Cool idea for tiles, but the way they are presented at the end could be better. Especially the skeletal dragon. Dunno about other people, but my first thought is: Why bother with all this, when we end up with plain ass room with just pcs and a dragon. At this point, GM could just say "You're in the room and there's dragon and that's it". I know, this is supposed to showcase the tiles, and those are just example minis set on them, but those are weak examples, is what im saying.
I worked with the minis I had painted at the time but thanks for the feedback! 👍😊
17:33 😂
Dan Mason! You are the first to comment on that one! Thank you Dan! 💙💛💙 Here I thought that I was the only one with questionable humor! 😂
I would propably just use a spraycan on the stencil and have it melt the foam underneath
Yeah sure that could work! Also acetone! Thanks for the tip! :)
I can see the struggle, Army Painter are such bad colours 😓. They should advertise them as tap water, because that's how well they cover.
Heh, just spitting some of the frustration because they tricked me with one of their little exclusive miniature sets and now I'm stuck with bad colours 😅.
Awesome job on the tiles!
Haha! Yeah there are some colors which are worse but in general I feel like it is more a pigment issue? Also, Army Painter does need a good shake and some agitators. But so do many paint brands! :) Thank you for the nice comment! :)
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 love that open
Hahahahaha! Thank you so much Davidnolanii6705! 👍😂
Snyggt!
Tack Catrin! :)
"you know" hehe
Hahaha! Yeah seems like that has become a bit of a catch-phrase! 👍🤣
🤯
Hahahaha! Thanks Steve! 👍😉
Great video man! But I see you haven’t broke that bad habit. I think you said “sort of” around 75 times in this video! Just trying to help make your vids better bro ;) keep up the great work
Haha nope! I prefer my communication being as honest and unfiltered as possible. Also, English is my third language and for sure it's far from perfect! :)
Good job but i want my own skeleton Giant
Hahahaha! I think Reaper still has that one in their line? 👍🤔
Hey Leif i allways thought you could never have enough tiles but there you go prove me wrong again. Not a fan of the AP antishine varnishive bought 2 and non of them was antishine
Haha! Thanks man! I wonder why the AP matt varnish didn't work for you. Did you use a brush or airbrush?
@@DevsDice both then i switched to liquitex and now im a happy camper. It was porbably a bad batch or it got frost damage during shiping to the store who knows. Ive heard mixed reviews and only bajs eller godis and nothing inbetween. But at least i have two bottles of supershine varnish.
Nice man! Yeah I heard about frosting and paints just recently - that might be a serious factor for sure!
Now I want to dust off my Heroquest and DnD! Sigh Lol
Hahahaha! Sorry Ken! I actually got the complete basic box and I will be painting all of the figures. Well when I get to it! 👍😅
ok that looks cool i wish i was that skilled but am not but am good at making buildings me and my dad are making baba jagas hut
That's great! Baba Yagas hut is a classic crafting project! Sounds fun! :D
ye but we arnt making the round version we are making the more classic style
Ahh nice! Sounds cool none-the-less! :)

Shit this is good is true. Greate use of materials. Reusable boss rooms.
