Let’s make note that Kendrick reached out to Imagine Dragons after hearing their music and said he was a fan! They worked together to make this iconic Grammy performance possible. Props to both artists 🙌🙌
The confidence of a young man on his debut album. This moment made me proud to have been listening to his mixtapes and vouching for him to every fellow hip hop head in my friend group.
I would do about anything to have been there or see this live, and when he hits that line...goooooooottttdddaannnnggg!!! I listen to this back to back whenever I play it
3:24 chills.... I am 48 and have seen a lot of Grammys... This by far is my favorite... It blind sided me that night.. I had no idea what was coming. 10 years later I still watch it..
The single greatest moment for a hip hop artist ever on a Grammy stage. NO ONE has Fd with this performance after he got robbed that night.. This is how you come out and show them they Fd up.
This is one of the most incredible performances i've ever witnessed. Not by just a rapper, but in general. I remember watching this live and just feeling chills and being in disbelief. Everyone knows K Dot as a lyricist, but his flow and tone control is SO slept on. Also, his breath control is better than any rapper on this earth. Doing the 2nd verse in and of itself is just bonkers, let alone doing another verse + ad libs + an intro to that. I don't think people understand how INSANELY hard it is to rap like that while censoring yourself and not messing up whatsoever. Doing this song live would give me so much anxiety. He's truly the goat of our generation and idc what anyone says. Miss me with that Drake shit. He's cool and all, but in terms of hip-hop, no one comes close. J. Cole was the only one who might've been able to go bar for bar, but he backed out for a reason. Rapping fast is one thing, but conveying emotion and having your lyrics with absolute clarity while doing so is just bonkers. Give this man his flowers, cause we won't see another one like him ever again.
I wish!! Dan Reynolds has said that ID won't perform at the Super Bowl until they let them have live instruments and singing. Maybe some day. Just saw them at Red Rocks last night.... the Super Bowl is missing out.
"I need y'all to recognise the Plan B is to win your hearts here at the Grammys, my name js Kendrick Lamar" Right after loosing the Grammy award for best Hip Hop album of the year! The hunger to become the best ever! 👑
This collaboration of Kendrick and Imagine Dragons is why I love music. This was a 5 mins concert performance that you had to dance, or shout or sing or rap or all of the above. I actually cried first time I saw this because of the artistry and chemistry...
We got queen latifah getting hyped in the crowd got Hov and Beyoncé getting lit Taylor Swift holding down a whole section lol got Steven Tyler rocking out😂. Man this Grammys will forever go down as one of if not the best Grammy’s performance ever man that shit was lit.
This performance stuck with me since my days of watching award shows, ten years ago, and no performance since has grabbed me like this night. What a BEAUTIFUL blend of songs and stretching of artist boundaries. Kendrick's breath control was INSANE and this performance gives me chills every time 💜 Kendrick was never the one to play with. I don't know why the beefs are still attempted.
litterally hasnt been a better grammy performance sense --- every year i hope it get beat...but never does...10 years next year....these two need to collab for a super bowl show
There's still something so magical about this performance. Dan's voice coupled with the rich strings, introducing us to this apocalyptic landscape with an odd, foreboding serenity... and then that intense m.A.A.d city beat and Kendrick's energetic delivery bursting in to say, "alright, thanks for the stage dressing on the new age, let me tell you what every day in the real life apocalypse is like." Genuinely an inspired fusion of styles for some powerful storytelling. That's the edge and intricacy modern Imagine Dragons is missing for me, and it took Kendrick Lamar bringing it to the next level to illustrate that.
This is by far one of my favorite performances ever. This moment was everything. It was after Kendrick was robbed of that Grammy. He showed them that they made a major mistake. And that they would feel that shit for years to come. It was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Watch this regularly - it took the live crowd a bit to get onboard, but they will be hard pressed to forget this performance. Once of the best ever. Electric
This show may have been one the last great Grammy telecasts for performances. The live performances were top notch. They need to go back to great collabs like this
i thought i had the cleanest recording of this performance. this is better than mine. whole, uncensored, no watermarks. i don't know how you got your hands on this, but THANK YOU for posting it! 🔥🔥🔥
I remember watching this live & it was incredible. I had goosebumps the entire time. I love when artists mix genres like this. I was immediately a Kendrick fan that moment. Brilliant performance!
10 years later and this still gives me chills, and is one of my fave live collabs! ❤️🔥 It lives forever rent free in my head! The recorded version they did doesn’t hit this hard.
I cannot thank you enough for this. I watched this in a pit of depression and it was just incredible but could never find a good copy. You honestly have made me so happy. To watch something that brought me out of such a bit. Means so much to me.
Can never get enough of this song... Kendrick might be the one rapper who can fly with dragons... One wonders how each will top this at the next award?
I remember this performance was so intense because a moments before that Kendrick Lamar was just robbed his Award for best Rap Album in the Grammy
Wasn’t this the year that Taylor Swift got robbed of her acceptance speech too?
@@Otterpoptheotterno bro not everything is about her💀
he got robbed of best rap album, i don’t think anyone will forget about that💀
I agree, poor imagine dragons❤️
He was absolutely robbed. A travesty. He's the GOAT!
90% of the audience just sat there in stunned silence. It’s like they had no idea how to react to such an electric performance.
They were wondering how he missed the award
Meanwhile back at the ranch... I'm ovaries here rocking out...🔥🔥🔥🔥😊
Electricity was indeed used in this performance
The audience is a bunch of rich people

Good to know! That makes even better. Thanks
Wish they had made more stuff together it's a sick sound
Proof that no one is perfect. It's a lesser crime than what Drake does.
When he said "I need ya'll to recognise the Plan B is to win your hearts here at the Grammys, my name is Kendrick Lamar. "
The chills I got omg
The confidence of a young man on his debut album. This moment made me proud to have been listening to his mixtapes and vouching for him to every fellow hip hop head in my friend group.
