No matter how rudimentary the final result is, DIY terrain is always the absolute BEST!
YOUR own thinking process, blood, sweat and tears went into each stage of the build. You’re not simply assembling and putting paint on someone else’s work.
PS. By the way, I’m so glad you wrote “No 3-D” in the title. Thanks for that. These days I’m always hesitant to click on new channel videos because oftentimes, when they claim to have built a terrain piece, they really mean that their PRINTER made that piece.

I am glad you enjoyed it and I totally agree with all your observations. I feel more invested in a piece if I am doing it myself. :)

👍👍👍I liked the handmade shed better. Looks more realistic I am fairly new to Gaslands but I am enjoying watching all the vids and then putting it into practice.

I prefer the box build as it looks more realistic with the plants and such around it. The graffiti is also a nice touch, that i think should have also been added to the 3d build.

Thanks! I thought about adding them, but the scale that I have for the graffiti wasn't right.

Two nice buildings, Chris. I really like the handmade shed. You gave some great ideas.

Great video. I prefer the scratch built building. It is much better than the printed one. The reason is, as you mentioned, it has more detail. It is also scaled better. You can, of course, add extra details to a 3d printed model, but you are limited by the model itself. Thanks for sharing the links.

Awesome job on both I'm leaning towards the 3D printed one 🤷

I love this idea. I miss scratch building stuff since I got my 3d printer a couple years ago. The 3d prints are efficient but stale.

Thanks! It can be difficult to find some really good 3D building without paying an arm and a leg for them.

I like them both, but the STL on the print could have been a bit more detailed. I don't think that's your fault; just a side effect of the model itself. I think the handmade one is absolutely better. Great video dude!

Totally agree. I could have found a 3d print with more detail built in, but it would have cost way more.

Great video! Really interesting topic! Between the two of your builds, I prefer the home made version because of the details you put into it. If I were to make one for myself, I would 3d print. This takes away a LOT of the analysis paralysis I get from building (my anxiety and perfectionism are pretty bad).

Fantastic work Chris I really like the hand built one you put a lot of great stuff in this one i like the barn find car and the bricks and also the Graffiti, but both are really cool. Thanks for sharing brother.

I prefer the scratch built, because of the scratch built aspect of it. When I am building my cars I do use 3d printed parts but scratch building just makes me feel more accomplished. However, that might be different yet again if I were to model the printed parts myself.

    • @cclarke68
      @cclarke68  2 месяца назад +1

Yeah, the 3D stuff really depends on the detail of the parts you are printing off. :)

Love the hand made one better Chris 👍🏼 to me it’s more detailed and realistic and would make a great piece to use for taking pictures with some Gasland vehicles, as always great build and cool video brother 💯👊🏼😞🇺🇸🇵🇷
