Just one wish to Indian Railways, and Kolkata Metro, that they do all the projects in a speedy manner, we need to have more metro lines in Kolkata quickly.
Very true we need more metro lines. But Not only Railways , Ministry of Urban Development, Govt. Of WB should also take initiative. As in one video in this very channel it was clearly explained that without active cooperation of native MoUD the Metro lines cannot be expanded.
Now all you need is a high speed rail system then again your airline service is nowhere near as awful as plane service in China lol that’s why so many Chinese people are quick to embrace HSR trains when they are built they abandoned the planes which from the horror stories rival trains in USA for unreliability

SADLY I THINK IT WILL TAKE ANOTHER 3-4 YEARS TO OPEN THIS LINE. Jessore road station is not at all ready. Along with Airport station it will take 1-2 years more. Will they bring TBM or do cut and cover from airport till Barasat?
Jessore road and airport both station will be fully completed by middle of next year. From airport to new barrackpore tunnel will be dug by cut and cover method however there will be no traffic disruption as the Airport-New barrackpore tracks will be within the airport premises. No idea about New barrackpore to barasat stretch. They may use tunnel boring machine as that stretch us along the main road so in order to expedite faster construction Kolkata metro may use TBM.

No matter what Metro railway claims,, it'll not be possible to commission this section before december, 2023.
