Really great use of space for storage and organization! Love the use of color with the back curtains and the cubbies, and that along with the plants gives it the look of a cozy home! Very informative! Thanks for sharing!
You are the first youtuber that has explained the using of the composting toilet in detail. I never actually saw how they worked. Thank you for that. Nice job on the van. It looks quite homey.
@@kimberlyschwartz5299 it gets composted in the bin. The moisture is pulled out by the fan and it gets mixed with the mulch/soil/ wood chips that are in there and turns back into soil. Then when you empty it you can just toss it out in a bag. Most van lifers I've seen front wait 6 months, they do it every couple months.
I'm sold on the dry flush toilets. They cost about the same as the composting toilet, but you don't have to deal with emptying out jugs of pee every day or two. Also, they have zero smell and you never even see any poop. With my bad back, I just don't want to have to add chips or bend over and churn my toilet every day.
Kudos to you in creating this van tour in a well used van, bumps & bruises in all. It’s rare to see a van tour the shows what it looks like over time, what you like, & what you’d change. Thank you!
It’s so true! It’s a better representation of vanlife after it’s actually been used and broken in. I guess it was for the best that it took 2 years to make the tour! Thanks for watching 😊
I'm so inspired by women who do camper/bus/van conversions on their own, since I'm also determined to bite the bullet and go for it someday. I'm sure everything means so much more when you know you've made it or installed it, and I appreciate how environmentally conscious you are. Thanks for sharing your lovely home--Beautiful job! ❤
I've noticed that a lot of the finished campervans that you can buy feel like an RV inside. They are not very homey. I think it would be like living in an office cubicle. I love the way this build looks like home. It's so warm and inviting. A lot of it comes down to style. I love your style. From the van decor to your outfit to your hair, lol. So, of course, this is going to be one of my favorite builds. The one thing that I would do different is the #1 thing on my list. I absolutely have to have a hydraulic bed. I have a bad back, so I can't convert my seating area into a bed every night and then back into a seating area every morning. I really need a seating area since I work from home as an accountant. I have been torn between doing the bathroom or seating area/bedroom in the back of the van. I like the living space in the back because you can open the back doors and bring the outside in, but I don't love feeling like the shower is in the kitchen. I like the way with this build, it doesn't really feel like the bathroom is in the kitchen. On the other hand, with the living space in front, you can open the slider and bring the outside in. Plus, with the shower in the back, you don't need the whole width of the van, so you can have a decent size bathroom, and also create a garage. Better yet, you can have your toilet slide in and out of the bathroom if you put it on a slider between the bathroom wall and the garage. Then, you can shower with or without the toilet. It's your choice. You also can hose yourself or your shoes off before entering the van if the shower is in the back. It's such a hard choice!!
Nice conversion. I love all the details. I really love the holder for the jars, and the fact that you're concerned about the environment, and I love the kitty! I'd think that she'd take off with all those spaces outdoors to explore. It's surprising she stays so close.
My kitty concern is that she might end up as a snack for a predator in the desert or might encounter a venomous snake when she’s outside on her own. If I wouldn’t let my toddler do it, I wouldn’t let my cat do it either. I do love what you did with her litter box though. We live in a bumper pull RV and have to keep the cat’s litter box in the shower. You have to put the litter box on the toilet to shower and put it back when you’re done. The outdoor shower is great too. Especially if you’re all alone.
This one is different from other most and that was so refreshing, love the van. I've always thought to myself if=when I get the chance to do one myself, I want to make my bed higher as well and utilize the underneath different than others and I LOVED this video. It gave me great ideas 💡 to customize for myself, but i love the step in front of the bed 🛌 i don't like the ladder look. And utilizing the space between the walls for shelves is genius 👌 And you can still insulate with spray foam around the shelves on the inside. So you're still getting insulated walls. And the back 🤯🤯🤯 That TABLE!brilliant idea 💡 that I will for sure be using lol and the bed/dinette combo was awesome 👌 👏 also, you proved to me that my idea 💡 would work with the bed 🛌 being higher/raised and be functional and look great 👍 👌 I'll be saving this video 📹 for future reference
Yes it is a little bit of a different build requiring a lot of brainstorming and planning to consider function and aesthetics. I’m so glad you enjoyed the video!! Take care ❤️
beautiful van, love the use of the wall creating small storage places. outstanding color use, you have created a wonderful restful space, Im watching from new zealand thank you
I live in the desert 🏜 🌵 My cat didn’t go far…… until the one day he did…. And I found him… much later😭😭. may he RIP. Coyotes/ javelina etc have a way of finding small animals when they least expect
I'm so sorry :( I know they can be sneaky and I always have my eyes and ears on Sadie. Thankfully she's very smart and cautious and mostly stays in the van.
A guy that lives in his van was taking his dog to be killed and stopped in the desert and she wondered off and he never found her. I couldn't do that. First I would NEVER let any be loose out there and if I did, I would NEVER stop looking. Just imagine them dying out there because no doubt they would. And then an animal shredding their body and eating it. 💔 Sorry about your cat. 💔
Nature isn’t always pretty. Animals eat other animals to live. I would much rather have my pets die peacefully in their sleep. But I would also take some risk to let them live their lives as intended: free to an extent. 💜
With Sadie in the wild, beware of hawks and eagles!! And I have to…carbon monoxide is heavier than air, so detector needs to be lower to the floor for safety. Double check, I think it’s true.
Thanks for the tour. It’s so nice to see a tour of a van during/after it’s been used for a while, all the “bumps & bruises” as someone said. Great Job. Travel on!
Thanks for the van tour. Very interesting for someone who has no idea and never seen this kind of van before. Love your kitty. she seems to enjoy living the van life. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.
Nice layout and it looks good. You don't have to remove the drinking faucet just attach a filter to it. You can use bio degradable toilet paper and you can threw it in with the #2. Safe travels.
Fantastic job on your van. I love it! Yep I could absolutely live in it 24/7/365, and travel our beautiful country! 🇺🇲 I'm impressed how you know EVERYTHING about it from front to back! 💞 Safe travels and happy trails! 🌲🏕️👍🏻💐🏜️🏞️🌝
Watch a RUclips on how to clean your max fan and you just pop the screen off. And unscrew the center screw. It is shaped like a D so make sure it goes back the same way. There's a little button you push that get stuck. It's on a Spring that opens and closes. Push down a couple times and you're fan should start working. Then put everything back. I also had to jiggle my knob and then back to the Middle red and blue part🎉 and it started working.
You two made so many good choices! A lot is compacted in that van, one of the best uses of space that I've seen. 👏👏👏 Amazing conversion! Even with the cost of gas today, you're saving so much money, because rent prices have soared out of control. I admire your courage to go it alone, too. 💖 Honestly, if I could grow a garden while on the road, I'd sell my house and do a tour across the country, but I love growing and canning my own organic veggies too much to give it up. I did downsize by about 80% before my last move and bought a house 1/3 the size, and mostly use only 2/3 of that space. (I could see myself living in that size van, otherwise.) It was the best thing for me at my age. I see too many retirees looking for affordable housing, and I'm too old to deal with it. So I bought an old fixer upper in the country with cash for the same amount of a downpayment that would have a 20 yr mortgage attached, elsewhere. It's very freeing to not pay rent or a mortgage, though repairs are slow due to costs, but I'm ok with it. Thanks for explaining how the composting toilet actually works. I may get one for my badement, now, for when we have tornado warnings.
Thank you so much for being so thorough in explaining everything and how it works👍🏻 Usually, the only questions I have for those living the nomad life might not be an issue for you personally, being so young. Mostly it has to do with residency, driver's license, insurance, paying income tax, etc. All that adulting stuff. Others have told me they have a home base (I figured with how young you are, you'd use your parents'.) But if being nomadic is to get out from paying rent or mortgage, etc, a home that you're paying all that and property taxes on defeats the purpose. (I think maybe the people I asked were just weekend warriors trying to play nomad.) I know so much can be done digitally now. Back when we didn't have our entire lives connected, I remember a friend trying to get a P.O. Box because he was living in his car; the post office said he needed to provide a home address. He was all, "If I had that, why would I need a box?" Just the sort of mundane things that keep me up at night. That, and I've never had a job where I'd "work remotely." I've mostly had jobs that involve a physical location, mostly involving animals, i.e. shelters, clinics, groomers, boarding and daycare. Oh, I do really need to hone some more portable skills... I'll admit I'm not particularly tech savvy and idk what I'd do from home🤷🏼♀️ This lifestyle is so appealing to me, to get to see so many places, but have that sanctuary of home everywhere you go, not waking up in a new bed every other month😊 Thanks again for the detailed and candid tour💚
Hi thanks for stopping by! I am fortunate to be able to use my parents home address in Ga for my residence needs but hoping to have my own place soon. Living in a van allows me to save more money than I would normally be able to in order to achieve my dreams and goals. Thankfully things are going digital more and more these days and regular mail is becoming more obsolete but as far as receiving certain things through USPS, you can have things shipped to a “general delivery” post office location and pick it up for free which is nice. I would like to have some sort of job where I can work remotely but until then I’ve been working different odd jobs for a season or 2 then head somewhere else for a while. Today was my last day working at a restaurant for the last 6 months. We will be heading north for the summer soon.
A few years ago I had a couple of international assignments that kept me out of the country a few months at a time. I ended up using Postal Annex mailbox service that collected my mail.
Take a picture of your assets If you think you had two batteries you may have had... People doing maintenance on your equipment sometime are not very fair. It's better to have pictures to back you up. You are a smart lady and growing
Thank you for sharing and give us a tour of your cozy home. Beautiful fur baby too! I love that you have used as much of the space as you could. You and your friend should be proud of the beautiful job that you did. Most importantly that you are happy and enjoying your travels. Stay safe and safe travels. 🙂
you use the storge as like its a closet that very nice I thought it's seems hard to live in a van like that but it makes me see the big picture of the van
Not always comfortable to talk about or hear but I think the design and function are too cool not to share in detail!

I love so much your Van, especially the Toilet and bed room... hello from Paris, I'll come back to learn more about your life in a Van 🥰. Have a nice day friend 🌹
An induction top works by creating magnetic lines of force interacting with the metal causing it to heat up. Only pans attracted to a magnet will work. The stronger reaction the better.
Love the great use of space and the details making it a awesome home on wheels for you and fur baby 🐈⬛. Totally loving the spice racks, bookshelves and place for your plants 🪴 Really enjoyed your van tour it was great and I can see why you love Van life… 🚐❤️ to be able to open your door an have beautiful scenic views and also just be in nature would be a gift 🏜🏔🏝🌊
🌺 WoW 😮 I HAVE BEEN WATCHING VAN CONVERSIONS ON EBAY FOR AT LEAST THE PAST 2 YEARS, & I HAVE NEVER SEEN A VAN CONVERSATION LIKE THIS. I WOULD LOVE TO BE ABLE TO DO A VAN CONVERSATION THE MAIN & MOST IMPORTANT REASON IS BECAUSE BUYING THE VAN THATS BUILT LIKE A REAL CAR. ITS NOT JUST PANELING, WALLPAPER, & STAPLES. SO THE VAN CONVERSION IS DEFINITELY SOMTHING MY HUBBY & I TALK ABOUT DOING SOMETIME IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
Girl I commend you for continuing on with your journey even after your break up. That’s awesome. Be safe continue your journey & if your ever in md or dc area. I’m 30 min outside of dc . Your van is awesome . I wish I had a son available for you to date I’m sure you have no issues in that department. But anyway they are both married with children. They couldn’t quite fit. Anyway sweetheart Like I said if your ever in town hit us up we would treat you like family . Safe travels wherever you may go .
Wow, wow, wow! This is one of the best builds I’ve ever seen (and I’ve been watching van tours for a couple years now). I would love to know the cost of it all. Great job! You’ve rekindled my interest in van life .
I have an idea for you to get unlimited water, if you build a system to collect rain water on your roof. Hang on, hear me out. You'll need to make a metalic reinforcement first then put the plastic containers to collect rain water. I know you don't like plastic. Not sure what to tell you. Trying to keep the weight as low as low as possible. Anyway, When the rain water fills the contains on the roof and you pvc pipe it back into your van, you can use it for showering, drinking, etc (post filtration). Just a suggestion. I also have an idea for heating inside your van if you have trouble, walmart has cheap electric plug in heaters, it's like $39.99, free shipping. No worrying about carbon monoxide. :)
I love your jar rack. The way you decorated it too is really cute! Good idea! Good tip regarding the use of plastic dishes. I'm not a van type person but I must say, nowadays they are pretty nice. What you've done with yours is really nice. Good job! I loved hearing Sadie moving around while you were filming 😊😻 Thank you for sharing your home. Safe travels 🙏
Thank you for taking the time to do such a thoughtful and thorough tour. I watched it to the end. You have created a home that is as beautiful as it is functional. Shalom!
Thank you so much for sharing the tour of your van. I am learning all I can about converting a van. The ford Transit LWB high top 250 AWD is my dream van.
When I first started listening I thought maybe an airhead. I am SOOO sorry to jump to a stupid conclusion. You were so much more honest about your bathroom “use” and many more things. Oh my God you have a sewing machine!!! A cat and a sewing machine!!!! Again so sorry for a knee jerk conclusion.
I wonder if most people who live in a van have a storage unit? I have 2 children, so I have boxes of special things I will never let go. I'm also a collector, so I have a collection of American Girl Dolls, Furniture, and Accessories and I have an ornament collection I started when I was 9, and I have a record collection and little box collection. I would definitely need a storage unit. I might be able to give up my doll collection, but I really was looking forward to playing with them and eventually passing them down to my future grandchildren. I am also a crafter and currently have a room in our barn with a sewing machine, cricut, heat press, tumbler press, hat press, and all kinds of supplies and materials. I pictured myself towing a little cargo trailer with solar panels that would be my mobile workshop. I could open it up and make personalized shirts and tumblers and hats and mugs and keychains and so forth anywhere I go. I get so nervous and excited when I think about being able to do this for a year or two while visiting friends and family across the nation and trying to retire from accounting by growing my online business. If it worked out, after traveling for the first year or two, I would settle down somewhere close to my kids, in my van, of course. With my bad back, the 3,350 sq ft home I live in is just too much. It's overwhelming. I think a well designed van or box truck conversion is the perfect solution for folks who are physically limited like I am.
Gorgeous!! I love the shelf that holds all the vintage jar’s, that’s very ascetically beautiful & serves a great purpose. Also the butcher block counter tops are so beautiful 🌱. You Should be Very Proud for everything you have done. I Absolutely Love your Van/Tiny home!! 🌿 👍 💗
Thank you for sharing your tour... Very thorough and informative. You seem like a pro at it. From Atlanta also. Been in the desert traveling. I've had to use my bear spray for someone walking up to my vehicle one time. It's some powerful stuff. Your interior is like a nice little cottage. Enjoy be safe keep on sharing
I love your van and I love your video, and believe it or not, I came up with a very similar layout, so it was super great to see how it actually fits! I am planning to do a murphy bed, but also raised. Thanks so much for making this video!
Might try using a few of the safety things that are there for you to use when you don't have to, to be able to use them WHEN you need to. So you will know how th o use them.
Hi Val! New subscriber here. Great vanlife. Thanks for sharing all your beautiful ideas. I got a cat too and I see new possibilities and inspiration from what you’ve shared. ❤
Wow what a great home !!!! I’m jealous I want one so badly. I didn’t see a tv ? Can you get reception in the open spaces ? Internet ? Must be scary and lonely without your partner in the build. What is his vehicle like ? I always think the bathroom space for me is the most important and I wonder about hot water and water pressure ? This was so interesting I especially liked how you explain the cook top and how not every pan works on it that’s important information. So nice your kitty is with you 😊
Great tour...you are really organized and I am sure that makes life simple and relaxing. Everything is so well thought out and convenient. Who makes the tool you use for cat hair.. so much better than a lint roller! I could definitely use one of those!! Happy spring! 🌻🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛
Thank you!!! Strange there’s no brand name on it and I’ve had it for years and don’t remember who makes it. I’m sure you could find it or one like it online somewhere! Happy spring 😊
Really great use of space for storage and organization! Love the use of color with the back curtains and the cubbies, and that along with the plants gives it the look of a cozy home! Very informative! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching :)

Its bad / sad to build a van as a couple together, then break up, that is a work of love, and commitment.

LOL at the: "If you meet the Buddha on the road kill him" book. That's just too funny. ;)
Great job , the best I've seen.❤
Love your chill, unpretentious personality & cactus appreciation! Great tour. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful and functional van space.
Yr the first person to acknowledge insects and the van, thank u for being honest.
Great tour! Thanks!

Love the layout, color scheme and all the little nooks and crannies. Such a wonderful small home. Nicely done.

I love super detailed van tours like this, you’ve done a great job it’s so beautiful and “homey” ❤️
Thanks so much! 🙏

Although it is a very long video, she concentrated on featuring the van. I appreciated it. Nice built.
I like that the bed is partially hidden by the shower and that the sink is closer to the cab of the van. Cozy layout.
Beautiful home. I like that your cat is happy with you.
Thanks for the tour. It’s so nice to see a tour of a van during/after it’s been used for a while, all the “bumps & bruises” as someone said. Great Job. Travel on!
Love the van outfit well done. Love your hair .you are so pretty🎉
awww thank you 🥰 🙏
That is a great set up. The best I’ve ever seen. Thanks for the tour!
great grandma is on board too ! i enjoyed that. I speak to my passed family, especially my dearest aunt.
I cant believe Sadie is gone 😢 RIP sweetheart ❤
I miss her everyday ❤️
I love all the storage AND the cat area. With the open back it must to so easy to clean.

This lifestyle is so appealing to me, to get to see so many places, but have that sanctuary of home everywhere you go, not waking up in a new bed every other month😊
Thanks again for the detailed and candid tour💚
She’s a beautiful kitty! Nice van. I love the desert too. It smells so good in the morning and when it rains. 🌵
I just lost my sweet sweet Sadie cat. I'm glad that named has been used again. Loved the video! Very informative
I’m sorry to hear that 😢 Thanks for watching!
You have a good grasp of how your van is run. I like how you explained getting up to speed. Thank you for sharing!🚙
Take a picture of your assets
If you think you had two batteries you may have had...
Beautiful conversion and a pretty lady.
Micro plastic is a world ending hazard.
I liked, commented and subscribed 👍
Appreciate you! 🙏
you use the storge as like its a closet that very nice I thought it's seems hard to live in a van like that but it makes me see the big picture of the van
Thank you for a really in-depth tour. Your van is really beautiful & just my style. Your kitty is very cute and very lucky to get to see the world.
Thank you so much for detailed explanation about the toilet LOL. So many videos just gloss over but now I think I get it haha
Not always comfortable to talk about or hear but I think the design and function are too cool not to share in detail!
I love so much your Van, especially the Toilet and bed room... hello from Paris, I'll come back to learn more about your life in a Van 🥰. Have a nice day friend 🌹
Thanks for stopping by friend! 😁
Wow 🤩 an awesome built,👍👍👍. Details & all included to live anywhere u want. Thanks for sharing 💕
Enjoyed your tour and I love your home on wheels. You have all the important amenities. Perfect in every way.
Thank you so much! I love it too 💕
Wow you have all the luxuries I’m so envious , but so happy for you. Thank you great video. 💜🦋💙
Thank you so much 😊 I do love it so
Thank you for explaining the toilet!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
you’re welcome 😁
Now that is a work table... I need one of those...
Great Stuff...
I really enjoyed the tour and the information you provided for the build.
Thank you!!
Lol you’re so sweet thank you! 🙏
Wow, wow, wow! This is one of the best builds I’ve ever seen (and I’ve been watching van tours for a couple years now). I would love to know the cost of it all. Great job! You’ve rekindled my interest in van life .
Thank you Erin! It was around $20 for the van and $30 for the build doing all the labor ourselves.
AMAZING... GENIUS.. WHATS EVEN BETTER.. YOU EXPLAINED EVERYTHING
You could cover the fridge with wood to hide it and match your cabinetry. Lovely build. Gorilla wood glue easy fix to cabinets if flush joinery.
Safe travels 🙏
thank you 😊🤍
Really nice layout on the inside and the pullout table is genius.
It's a great van. Well done.
Thank you!!
Sadie is adorable 😉
She is. Thank you! 😊
Thank you for taking the time to do such a thoughtful and thorough tour. I watched it to the end. You have created a home that is as beautiful as it is functional. Shalom!
Thank you Marty! 🙏
Crazy thing is... to make those stainless steel bowls .. a big machine made with lots of plastic is used to make them. Lol
What a great video. Your van is perfect. I hope you're doing well and I wish you continued happiness in your travels. 🦋
Thank you!!! Hope you’re doing well too Dora 💕
That bell irritates the cats ears
Great van tour. Very detailed and it came a cross all so down to earth. Greetings from Ireland and best of luck on your journey.
I love Sadie’s cabinet! That’s so cute and a great idea!
Very informative video. You are so organized and clean. Thank you for sharing. Sadie and you take care on your adventures.
Thank you so much Carmen! ❤️
I’m glad the bear spray worked for you! It can be scary. It does feel like a cozy little cottage 😊 Thank you fellow Atlantan!
Thank you for your tour! I like your layout and I am I prey with ecotourism have learned. So much respect for you. Best of luck on your travels! 🌞
I love your van and I love your video, and believe it or not, I came up with a very similar layout, so it was super great to see how it actually fits! I am planning to do a murphy bed, but also raised. Thanks so much for making this video!
A murphy bed, interesting idea! Thanks so much for watching, and I wish you the best of luck with your build! Would love to see how it turns out.
@@thedigiovannis23 Thank you ♥ It will be a little while, got to find the money first 😃
Awesome advice and a nice tour around your Transit. Thanks for your time-sharing. Keep safe Val.
You have a lovely home, I hope you continue to explore all the possibilities and good luck with your business venture.
Oh, a lot of places in the van. Nice build! Cool cactus 🌵 😊
Might try using a few of the safety things that are there for you to use when you don't have to, to be able to use them WHEN you need to. So you will know how th o use them.
Enjoyed all your information , you did a great job.
Good job love the shower and the bed idea. Enjoy its really nice.
Well presented! Thank you and take care of your cute kitty!
WOW! I Loved your detailed video and the pace was relaxing. I had time to see the details. Wonderful use of space. Very nice build. Safe travels!
Thank you Gail! 🙏 ❤️
Love this! ❤ Thank you for the detailed van tour. Keep safe!
Hi Val! New subscriber here. Great vanlife. Thanks for sharing all your beautiful ideas. I got a cat too and I see new possibilities and inspiration from what you’ve shared. ❤
Thank you!! Cheers!!
Really nicely done. Love it❤👍👍👍
Wow what a great home !!!!
Crazy. So many gorgeous women are doing the solo vanlife. So empowering. Respect
Love your cozy home! Great build and layout! Thanks for sharing and loved the detail! Sadie is adorable too! You both be safe! 💕
