It was a rather fitting and nice touch that they had Hiromi being the one consoling Hotaru, considering she was the only Cute Type idol who gained a voice after making into the Top 10 final result of the 6th Cinderella Girls General Election, as opposed to Bamco just cherrypicking which Cute Type idol they want to voice next. The Cute Type rank is quite infamous for not being able to bring in new unvoiced idols due to how voters are prone to only vote for the already voiced ones.

Hiromi's role here is significant because she's been with Hotaru longer than most other idol, with the two having been in a handful of events and units in the mobage. The two are also very similar, in age and also in that they both lack confidence and have trouble smiling naturally. So often times they practice their smiles together.
That is also why Hiromi understands Hotaru and why her words are especially important to Hotaru

I actually clapped after the MV as it was beautiful and I feel proud of Hotaru. She reminds me of Karen when she was confronting her past with Kanade and I know how it feels to be despaired where I couldn't catch up to my peers.
I would ask her to meet Yoshino and could be in a unit with her one day.
