Wasn't his nephew Dhovemi Kalaminja the first Muslim Ruler? a.k.a Dharumavantha Rasgefaanu. Since Islam came about in 1153 while Koimala reigned until1141. I understand this is based on the "legend" but people might confused this with history, adding to the already misrepresented history.

Koimala is from Kerala. Ko in Old malayalam means king. Koyi, Koya are the titles carried by Mappila Muslims of kerala even today.
