I began my flight training in 1962 in a '47 J-3, N42738, at King Aviation in Taunton, Ma. That wonderful old Cub is still flying at that airport, now on its third owner and second rebuild since the flight school sold it in '65. I have a great photo from 2012 of the present owner's daughter, Nicole, going solo in 738 there, having been taught by my dear friend who I met in '71 when he was my flight instructor for my advanced ratings on the G.I. Bill, as well as my co-worker at the flight school. Wonderful memories around that J-3.
