It's Not an All-Season Pant, But The Stone Glacier De Havilland is Still One of My Favorites.

Maybe this is an assumption here but the lite is probably good for early season where the OG is not. The noise is a concern for me as well but gaiters with any extra leg material tucked in takes out some of that swish in my stalk. Good honest reviews are hard to find and trustworthy when you find em'.

Wish they would make these a bit tapered. Don’t like the boot cut on them.

We've heard that from a few others as well. Thanks for the comment.

They have the 206 pant to run in the early seasons. They solve the noise and over heating problems. Check em out! :)

We certainly agree with the 206 mention! They're another great product offered by Stone Glacier.

Thanks for the detailed review. For a guy that tends to run hot, what temp range would you give these pants?
Any chance you plan to review the DH lite pant?

If you run hot, you'll probably be sweating pretty good in anything over 50 degrees. As you saw, Forest prefers the DH Lite in most conditions just because his legs seldom get cold.

I'm normally a 32 waist. If i wanted to wear base layer pants should i move up to medium large and then have option to tighten if no base layer or is there enough adjustment in the medium to wear a thicker base layer beneath?

I'm normally a 32" waist as well. I haven't had any fit issues with wearing a medium SG De Havilland LITE Pant with a base layer beneath it. I would suggest that medium is the way to go. - Forest
