      I think if he learns from Steph for off-ball and Durant for more offense reading/consistency is gonna be his biggest education.

    Even with that said he still averaged 8 ast a game in the conference finals. I do agree that at times Ant needs to slow down but hes 22. 🤷🏾‍♂️

    Apart from hitting Rudy on the roll and throwing lobs, Ant'a playmaking hasn't been bad. At the end of the day our players missed plenty open shots. If they would of made them, the narrative around ants playmaking would be different. I think the biggest development for ant is to know, when to playmate, when to be aggressive. He doesn't have that feel yet

    At the very least FIBA last year, this NBA season, and now USA Olympic basketball this summer Edwards will definitely get his stamina up. I can only hope this long season and running out of gas at the end motivated him to work on that for the future

      Problem is finch said he didn’t like that type of team. My thoughts are you just your coaching style and game philosophy based on the strengths and talents of your team.

      I agree with this but in the playoffs he was playing that heliocentric role anyway. Huge usage, everything ran thru him etc. he just didn’t have that top top tier playmaking to make it work for long enough.

    I hate how it ended but This was a very successful season and 🐜 Man became a Superstar let’s build on this we in a good position

    I don’t necessarily agree that you need to be a Luka/Jokic level playmaker to be a true tier 1 superstar. Jordan, Kobe, Leonard were all two way, score first wings with decent but not elite passing chops and they were all the best player in the league at various points. I see Ant as that archetype, as opposed to the Luka/Harden archetype. He’s not a point guard and that’s ok. The last thirty years of NBA history have proven that you can win with an assassin two way wing and a good team around him.

    Bro came into the league as a traditional scoring guard who put up 3-4 APG. However, these playoffs he was forced to create more and averaged even 8 APG against the Mavs, which is too much IMO. Not to mention, he played 40 MPG and that also boosted his stats. But he should stick to scoring, Kobe or MJ won titles by scoring, not facilitating. Without Conley on the floor, Ant had to play the PG position a lot and that's not optimal. He didn't feed our bigs as much as he should, which hurt Rudy and KAT. Mike should move to the bench, let's get someone like Dennis Schroder and we are good!

      @@dylansmith4499I know he was limited minutes off an injury in Detroit but he seemed like the solution for getting Conley rest. Then they basically stopped playing him outside garbage time and Ant was ball handler when bite bite needed a breather

    He doesn't trust Gobert. At all. Seems like Conley is the only guy who clicks with Gobert, and he's a 36-year old 15-year vet point guard. I agree he misses easy lobs to Gobert but I think it's less that he doesn't know how to do them and more he expects Rudy's stone-hands to result in a turnover. Something the coaches need to work on with them and get them both comfortable with

    • @richborn6700
      @richborn6700 5 месяцев назад +1

      It's like a more successful version of Gobert and Mitchell. But if they don't make adjustments these two might sour like they did

  • @spfdff
    @spfdff 5 месяцев назад +3

    Disagree… a player like Ant can learn patience and can slow down, when necessary. But players like Luka and Jokic, ain’t gettin any faster or athletic. Slowing down a step, is a cognitive adjustment

    • @farming4g
      @farming4g 5 месяцев назад +6

      Cognitive, yes... once his decision making and reads get a lot quicker he can slow step it like a joker or Luka, but can also blow by with his athleticism.
      He is going to learn a lot this summer with team usa

Because he’s so athletically gifted, and such a force when he’s in 6th gear.” It’s a confusing statement, because one minute you state, he’ll never be those guys, but then you go on to outline the very skill sets he should develop to be like them.🤷‍♂️

      He just needs to become elite at pacing based on the D being shown.
      If he can become an elite passer he'd be an absolute monster just like Luka and Jokic, maybe even better since he can defend unlike those 2.
