Barbarian should honestly get buffed again. Im only seeing about 80% of my lobbies as barbs. also its basically impossible to parry a hatchet. the hitbox/animation is so janky it just actually goes through the guard.
im pretty sure a lot of people were just playing barb because its the only thing that can survive a single ability from sorceror. I think other than patch 69, a lot of the times people just play barb because its the only class that doesn't get 3 tapped by landmine rouge and at the same time have the ability to fight casters. Honestly so many people will move to squshier classes if there are no rogues that wear bis and camp exits lol Blood exchange kinda op tho ngl
barb is def an issue especially with this new gear. but rogues and most other classes can take advantage of this as well. i cant even count the amount of times ive run into a rogue with 170+ hp, 320 ms, 30% action spd, and 30% pdr with 15% phys power. with the new gear you dont actually have to sacrifice any stats. you should have to sacrifice ms and action if you want to be tanky. if you want to be agile and attack quick you shouldnt be tanky. the new gear and socketing has fcked the game. i love the idea of socketing but they need to make it you so you can only socket a piece of gear once. and not only that but only be allowed to wear at most 2 socketed pieces on your kit. idk how much this would help exactly but i imagine it will make the game slightly more playable and you wont run into abominations like your kit and the rogue kit i mentioned earlier. ironmace got some work to do. also add sub-classing
Always thought they should have class caps and bring in better utility to counter the movement speed meta. I didn’t enjoy dungeonborn much but I think they handled movement speed much more (besides Druid). Rogue were always the fastest which made sense and melee had utility like pulls and slow aura to pull fast enemies to them. In addition they had flask which one applied a slow for a few second so melee could catch up and the other throw down a blockable wall to catch or block damage. I really miss having reliable options to catch up to movement speed stacking opponents. This game is just kitting which is very unfun lol Still love the game but would love to see less just movement speed running and better option for range to compete besides run for their lives and melee to outplay range and catch up and punish there mistakes
@ same I also enjoyed heavy attacks too. I love dark and darker combat also but I hate the kitting meta with almost no counter besides playing a specific class or having movement speed. We need universal counter options
what squire setup would be good for barb? i obviously get that in vid hes using visored sallet and northern armor but would that still be the move in all white gear?
If you have lizardman then use that alongside no chest/head gear. You can try to get Vig or Dex on your remaining pieces or go for lightfoots + loose trousers to speedmax. Almost everyone is running hatchet because it's busted right now but you can run whatever you're comfortable with since hatchet will eventually get nerfed anyway. Rage + Achilles is squire meta because the stat buffs are substantial on squire, and achi let's you guarantee kills due to the slow.
Assuming you don't have lizardman or lycan you can use the dex helm or agi helms. I'd recommend getting lizardman though, you can get it quite easily by fast extracting ruins.
The real issue is that barbarian doesn't truly fit it's class identity, except the way you coined your playstyle, Pete. If the barbarian can stack all of the stats like you mentioned, there is nothing separating it from any other build. Barbarian to me means more berserker, high damage output and input type melee class. Maybe customizing each stat curve per class might be worthwhile. This is a difficult issue to solve with a bandaid.
I think they could just add class restrictions to more gear. Same concept as stat caps but instead just remove specific items from barb's ability to use them and just stifle their ability to full send into their weak stats. Take away loose trousers, laced turnshoe, etc. I'd also say take away the movespeed off of rage and give them a leap skill for gap closing instead.
I have been saying forever that they need a move speed cap;310 is fair enough , they can keep all their health and damage because that is their role , but allowing them to be faster than everyone is the core issue
beside all the stats , AS needs to have a timer and not have barbs who can hold it BOC has a timer so should AS , should be able to counter and punish a barb who uses it to early
@ your not wrong, but if we want to balance that way then fighters, melee warlocks, and especially melee cleric should have the same treatment. especially when you consider that franies exist. 200 hp without any investment shouldn't exist at all, and 200 hp with investment should be available to other classes.
Remove solo queue and these issues go away. Ironmace needs to act on their words, it wasn't meant for the game and this will continue to persist with it being there.
