I can't believe they didn't include info on his condition. I went looking and found out he suffered broken ribs, a broken femur, a broken arm, cracked arm & broken jaw. His teeth were shoved into his gums from hitting the ground. It sounds like he's lucky to have survived. He definitely has a long road to recovery in front of him.

I was on one of those rides at a local carnival, it was called Avalanche. I’m 5’ 1” and 17, so I kinda bounced around in the seat myself, I had to hold on for dear life since it was so janky. The ride operator was so obvious that he didn’t see at first a girl was having trouble putting on her seatbelt to connect it that we all had to pretty much yell at him to attend to her. I only felt nauseous afterwards and went home (smart choice in my opinion…), but falling OUT is horrible to think about. I would highly recommend not going on these carnival rides. They’re really ratchety and not as smoothly operated as amusement park rides like Six Flags or Hershey; festival rides have a higher chance of being riskier than those parks.
    Many condolences to the family.

My youngest niece, about 5 at the time was lifting out of the seat every time the ride hit it's peak height. I couldn't get the carnival man to stop the ride because he couldn't hear my shrieks of terror to "STOP". We managed the ride, but to this day.......I will not ride ANY rides anymore. I'll never forget those moments and am so grateful she never fell out.

The harness Moby Dick uses looks to be significantly different than most other over the shoulder restraints. But over the shoulder restraints will come up a half an inch or an inch on more intense parts of Amusement park rides this is an natural and safe occurrence but the child most likely did not meet the height requirement to ride and there was perfect synergy between the slight lift on the harness and the child not being tall enough that created a big enough gap for the child to fall out. My payers go out to the family 🙏
