as a young girl that has recently started karate, it makes me feel encouraged to know that one day i will hopefully get to where u are. if heina neidan don’t bite my arse😽
@Cat.714 it is or you think it is. I just don't think it's that big of a deal because your right knee thrust makes you land with thst foot in front. The left foot lands behind it with little effort. It's a relatively natural movement. I actually have more issues swinging my right leg over and kinda cheat my uppercut by the back leg being at an easier angle when I step
For those in the comments section saying "this would never work in a real fight" that's because it's not to be used in a fight this is a karate drill that trains your body's control and discipline as well as muscle memory.
ITF taekwondo practitioner here. That same jump and landing is in the Toi-Gye pattern, along with the low block with back fist. Of course, the actual pattern has a lot of techniques different, with a focus on low blocks, thrusts, and stance changes.
Yup it’s similar because TKD was formulated from the Japanese Shotokan that was brought there. The book TKD: A killing art details well the Shotokan influence and street fighting that Korean fighting was to make the formulated art we have today.
@@thatguyoddly4610 how it's been going? I know it can be very demotivating if you're not in the setting of a dojo, with other students or without sensei.^^
@@maximilian2843 it's been okay thanks for asking I have been busy with some things and have been thinking about practicing again a few weeks had to go over my bo kata again because it was foggy again but I managed to remember. what about you
I'm a white and black for wado ryu karate and this is recommended from my sensai darren reynolds I have been more interested in karate then I was before now
i never realised how similar this kata is to the pinan godan from shito ryu they're almost 1:1 (which tbf makes sense since karate styles are an invention rather then actually different paths)
Yes. It’s the same kata. The names and order of the Pinan Kata were changed around the time Karate was adopted into the Okinawan and Japanese school systems. That said, each Karate style does preform them with slight differences but the overall principles are the same.
Looks good. One way to improve is to relax the upper body more. Having tension in the upper body makes a person slower and use more energy. Use maximum focus with the whole body. The body and arm need to focus at the same time then completely relax in order to move quickly with the next technique.
This is a great question. Karate is an art that focuses on learning the technique of strikes, blocks, and movement. Some key principles for both attracting and defending in karate: proper technique, speed and power, concentration, movement, ethics. Practice your knowledge with Bunkai & Kumite. 🙏
Form, Technique Training, Muscle Memory, Precision, Balance, Coordination, Focus, Concentration, Applications, Bunkai, Traditional and Cultural Value, Grading and Skill Evaluation, etc. 🥋🙏
Hey it's very funny for me to see other people doing kata's especially since it's in different countries and and different styles but the other funny thing for me is that we all move in a T shaped movement and the screaming at the end and the middle somewhere
Definitely, but a fighter must adapt the techniques to a faster and more flexible fighting style suited for combat sports like MMA or kickboxing. Blocking, balance, basic strikes and maintaining focus are some of the terms. 🙏
Techniques and form, muscle memory, body mechanics, balance, coordination, mental discipline, focus, bunkai, breathing and energy control and connection to shotokan tradition. And many more 🙏
Oh my god as a blue belt who’s still learning Heian Godan is so confusing 😭😭 I’ll never get how people can do it so easily but at the same time I know it’s years and years of experience
Ok im purple one but i know im not good enough to be correcting a black belt but i dont think the jump should be that high right? Because you dont have footing so someone can easily kick or strike you once your in the air
For heian godan the jump is more vertical than horizontal since you’re either avoiding an attack or preparing for one but apart from bunkai since it is kata it can also be for demonstrative purposes to show (and teach) a Karatekas agility, balance, control etc. But always check in with your sensei or senpai since different dojos have different teaching styles plus I doubt they’d be unwilling to help.
